If you can take flight. Avoid night travel, anything beyond 7pm. Find out if gov Wike has discontinued the closing of land borders of Rivers State at 7pm.

Safe trip

Relatively safer now than. But be ready for a long journey cos of check points. Carry small money to appreciate police on the road.

People not worried about drunk drivers, bad roads or accidents anymore... It's now bandits and kidnapping.

Is this the end of road travel in Nigeria?

The road is safe, just comply with military checking points once you arrive Onitsha head bridge... never you put on black upon black or any red cap before you're mistaken for an IPOB soldier...
Safe trip, once you pass Control at Owerri, you are already closer to ph.

If it’s a private ride get ready for check points especially in imo axis
imo ke he doesn't have to stress himself going thru that route if he is driving I think its better he goes thru benin-sapele-warri-patani-PH. checkpoint isn't much like benin-asaba-onitsha-imo.

It's safe but try enter portharcourt before 7pm else, police checkpoint will milk the hell out of you. Police extortion in Rivers State is alarming. ₦500 per checkpoint and you can meet like 20 checkpoint on a 1km stretch. Plus make sure your papers are complete. I went to pH recently and I just got back to my base 3days ago

Bus drivers do not pass through the East. They go through Warri.

I work in PH but my family resides in Aba. I ply Aba/ PH route twice weekly, on Monday morning (going to work) and Friday evening (after work for the week) and I have been doing that for the past year now. So I can say the route is safe but for the numerous army and police check points on the road that usually delays my trip.

I'll advice you to take luxirious bus as transportation, I still believe that it is more safer.

The road is safe. I came into Lagos recently and it was good. I suggest u use GIGM (Executive/1st Class) if u want to enjoy ur journey.
If ur driving, just get prepared to talk and talk and talk and beg and settle over 120 Police checking points from Ogun State to River State.

Have just made 4 rips to and from Lagos/PH in the last 3 weeks. The roads a really good. From Lagos to Benin the have fixed the road, infact from Ore down to Edo you will not see potholes, then there us heavy police presence/check points in like every 200m from Ondo down. from benin to warri road is fair with RRS presence too, and the East/West road through Warri/Patani is lovely. just make sure you beat Bayelsa before 4pm and enter port before 6. There are stories of kidnappers with the one chance method though if you are driving your private vehicle is good. Also there is an 8:30pm curfew in Ph so you want to settle doen before then. Aside that it is a good trip, nice roads and you can still enjoy your there is a quiet hotel lounge even after curfew....just dont be on the road. Safe Trip. And hey dont use tinted....had to do away with my artificial tints at warri round about. you will get stopped at every check point. my luck was i get strong official ID...lol but still warri RRS wahala make me remove am and now the IG have official suspended it....no even try am

Our enemies and warmongers have failed.
I wonder o, I went to ihiala anambra state last Monday, but everybody were going about their businesses but what you will see online is as if the whole south east is on fire. I bet Lagos, pH road should be among the safest as long as you know where you are going. most of the recent happening are just isolated cases but Nigerian seems to like spreading fear
