FreeIgbos:
There are some things one will see on nairaland that can easily assault the sensibilities of a normal rational human being. The worst is that those who push the narrative will continue in their foolhardiness despite how illogical, irrational and crassly flawed their thought process is.

As a very old nairaland member who have experienced the good, bad and ugly in the politics section, I'm not new to the shenanigans of impostors and fifth columnists whose stock in trade is to impersonate and attack others. Recently, the nuisance BMC's, APC hood rats, and parasitic Nigerianists etc have taken it to ridiculous levels all in an effort to give the unsuspecting public a very wrong impression, especially now that the balkanization of Nigeria has become a huge possibility.

I want the "we Niger Delta" crew to answer the following questions, especially those claiming to be Ijaw and others as well as others:

1. You blackmail Igbos and call us land grabbers for insisting that our IGBO brothers in the geographical areas currently known as SE, SS and Benue State will join us to form a nation, even when we make it clear that such would happen through a referendum to enable everyone decide either to come with us or not. Isn't this an honest and universally recognized standard? Yet you "we Niger Delta" crew that wrongly accuse Igbos of landgrabbing will shamelessly and wickedly want to force the Ejaghams, Anioma Igbos, Itshekiri, Bini, Uhrobo, ijaw, Ibibio, Ikwerre, Ogoni, Ogoja, Isobo Igbos, Etche/Asa/Egbema/Ndoki Igbos, Efiks, Ilajes, Isoko etc into a Babel republic called Niger Delta without even wanting to know if they're interested or not, now who is the landgrabbing here and who is honest and matured?

2. You claim that Igboland is landlocked and has no access to the sea, and that's why we want all Niger Delta tribes to join us in Biafra. Once again, we prove you wrong that Igboland has multiple access to sea and ports can be established at places like Azumiri, Oguta and Onitsha. In fact, Azumiri is actually closer to the Atlantic ocean than P.H, so if P.H can berth ships why not Azumiri? So what do we need Niger Delta again for when ships can sail directly to our ports?

3. You accuse Igbos of maltreating the minorities during the old Eastern region. Yet this lie was busted when the colonial government established the Willinks Commission and it was reported that minorities got all that was due to them, even more. They accused Igbos of fixing street lights in Onitsha without any in their places but investigation proved it was the local populace in Onitsha that fixed it with their money! Igbos were also accused of intolerance yet a minority was voted to become the SUG president of UNN in the person of Saro Wiwa! However, Rivers State was created, it was Ijaws that kept maltreating others in Rivers State. In the new Rivers State, it is now Ikwerre maltreating others grin Which ethnic group among you minorities will have our huge population and still be liberal to their neighbors, certainly not the ijaws championing the Niger Delta rep? So how is the Igbo ethnic group oppressive when we are democratic in nature?

4. Ijaws keep claiming that all their people from Ondo to Rivers State will join to form Niger Delta rep but they cry and gnash their teeth when Igbos say that all Igbos will join to form Biafra, are you people not terrible hypocrites?

5. You claim that Igbos have nothing in common with the ethnic groups in SS despite the fact that up to 30% of our people are indigenous to the area. However, I want to ask you, is there anything in common between Ibibios and Binis, Ijaws and Efiks, Ogonis and Anioma Igbos, Itshekiri and Asa Igbos? Yet you lump all these very distinctly different ethnicities together and claim "we Niger Delta" does the word minorities mean every other minority is a brother? What sort of minority reasoning is that for God sake? Why not insist that referendum will be used to decide where the diverse ethnicities of Niger Delta will belong, just like the Igbos maturedly insist? Again, who is the landgrabbing here between democratically minded Igbos asking for referendum and expansionist ijaws and Binis not wanting others to decide for themselves?

6. I have seen how Akpabio is often harrassed in NDDC by Ijaws simply because he is Ibibio. I also saw how Ijaw militants gave him ultimatum summoned him to their camps and he was forced to go. Akpabio is perhaps the most respected Ibibio man yet you all attack and humiliate him at every given opportunity. Is this how intolerant and disrespectful you guys will threat non Ijaws in your Babel republic?

7. Ijaws, Itshekiri and Uhrobo are always in a supremacy fight in Warri, same thing is happening in Gelegele between ijaws and Binis among others, under Ijaw republic Niger Delta rep, how will the others survive under Ijaws?

Like I always say, Igbos of SE have nothing to lose even if we go with just the current 5 states. However, it is disturbing, disgusting and shameful when some low IQ dingbats will claim to hate Igbos yet want Igbos of SS to be with them by fire by force. You hate Ifeanyi from Enugu but claim to love Ifeanyi from Asaba shocked You claim to hate Nwabara from Ukwa in Abia State but claim to love Nwabara from Rivers State shocked shocked In your Igbophobic tendencies, do you ask Emeka in P.H or Bayelsa if he is from Anioma or from Anambra before you know whether to love or hate him grin grin

Who is decieving who?

Lol, these are banters that happen everywhere, at least we all speak one language, have same culture and traditions, and are hardworking progressives! Have you seen us burning down houses, fighting and killing each other like you guys do in Warri, Gelegele etc?

What sort of nation are you going to have where ateke Tom, boyloaf, tompolo, asari dokubo and other ijaw militants will be the ones calling the shots and ordering others around? Can say Uhrobo, Bini, or Ibibio man be president without these jobless militants harrasing them endlessly?

I can bet a million naira that the 6 SS states will never transform into a nation. It will experience worse crises than South Sudan and the other minorities would be foolish not to know that. Ijaw can have their nation with Rivers and Bayelsa, Akwa-Cross will have theirs too. Anything else will be Armageddon cheesy cheesy

You always here them calling for referendum for the people in the region to decide their fate because they have rigging machineries to do the dirty work. Igbos are globally known to be fraudlent and morally corrupt. They're capable of doing anything thing to advance their selfish interest. The call for Biafra referendum on the people of Delta and Rivers by someone from far away South-East alone shows the act of desperation. My Brother, if Igbo affiliated ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta wishes to identify with the Biafra cause, believe me, a referendum won't be needed. I know my Anioma, Ndokwa people in Delta state, if they wish to join Biafra nobody can stop them and a referendum won't be needed to ensure that. Thus, I'm submitting that you can't come from Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu or Ebonyi to demand referendum in Niger Delta. You must be delusional.

With all due respect, we don't habour such rivalry among ourselves. I don't think we have Igbos in the Niger Delta.

Lol, you're already erasing their identity?
So Obigbo, Asaba, Etche, Asa (half of them are still in Abia), Ndoki, Egbema (half of them are still in Imo State), Isobo, Igbanke etc and several others in Niger Delta are no longer Igbos?

The name of Delta State governor is Ifeanyi, he speaks Igbo and practices Igbo culture and traditions just like the Enugu State governor who is Ifeanyi and does all these too!

Why are you so concern? Is this act of desperation not too much? You're indirecting demarketing the Igbo nationality with these rhetorics. You know very well that the population of south-easterners in Niger Delta advancing their socio-economic development far exceeds the Niger Deltans in south-east for the same reason. With this antics, you think I'll still find joy in patronizing your Igbo brother who owns a provision shop in my street as against the non-igbo shop owner? You are unnecessarily attracting more contempt for the Igbos directly and this would further put your race in jeopardy

Practices Igbo Culture? grin Davido's Son with Chioma is answering Ifeanyi. Does that make him Igbo? What is the meaning of Okowa then? I always tell you the influence of Igbo culture (names) among Niger Delta nationalities is as result of slavery. We enslaved so many Igbos from Imo and Abia particularly, and took some of their girls and women as wives and concubines. The result of this is the moderate influence of Igbo culture among this ethnicities. However, they cannot be classified as Igbo in literal sense. Get that into your head.

Nobody called you a slave. You were only presented with facts to counter the lies you guys have been spewing.

You hate Igbos from the SE but claim to love Igbos from SS, what sort of stupidity is that? In your Igbophobic tendencies, when you see a man with the name Emeka or Eze, do you ask him to mention his region first so you can decide whether to like or hate him? In essence, you don't like Igbos so why do you want Igbos in your Babel republic?

Yes, you don't owe us anything but you owe yourself the truth which is what will set you free.

You're the one who doesn't want to face the truth, no Igbo ethnic group with foresight would want to join the yorubas or "we Niger Delta" if a referendum is conducted today! You think it's by lying and impersonating them?
Have you been following closely what these "Igbos" in Niger Delta have been saying?. Whatever the origins of these people, the one thing they're are not is Igbo. You see how you guys compare apples with oranges in your mischief. So Davido marrying Chioma an Igbo girl and having their son named Ifeanyi is same with indigenous Igbos of Anioma and Enugu who bear the name, does these scenarios relate?

You ask the meaning of Okowa? So what's the meaning of Umahi? What's the meaning of Upkai? What's the meaning of Kanu? Can you tell me? Sometimes ago, Ifeanyi Okowa made the teaching of central Igbo compulsory in Anioma land but you keep decieving yourself.

You're a fool. NDDC is an act of the law. The Niger Deltan Stakeholders only requested for the board to be instituted as mandated by the Law. How is that difficult to understand? Why are you Igbos so sentimental that truth and justice becomes second consideration to you? Are you naturally shameless? Pitching other nationalities against the Ijaws will never work. Spits! Landlocked slaves of Biafra. The army keep killing your able-bodied every now and then, yet you're worried about the Niger Delta
The Army can never kill Yorubas the way they're slaughtering Igbos like dogs giving the same situation. There is no value on Igbo lives. Their own governors invite Fulani Army to bomb their own people and go proudly to announce it. No Yoruba governor in an eternity will do that. Igbo have no character. They have devalued themselves in way way too much. All that is left of the Igbo race is Unity Begging and Land Grabbing. Shame.

At the first part in bold, between those calling for referendum and those forcefully speaking for others and claiming "we Niger Delta" who is landgrabbing? We Igbos insist on referendum because we have nothing to fear nor hide but that word referendum scares the hell out of you guys because you know what the outcome will be. Aside ikwerre, majority of Igboid groups in SS accept their Igbo tag, from Obigbo to Asaba and the rest, so forget.

At the second bold, maybe you need to go back to school. Azumiri in Abia State is closer to the Atlantic ocean than P.H and you think we won't build our Port there? That blue river empties directly into the ocean!
it will be disgrace to niger deltans to allow a referendum of a thing called biafra to hold in ND..
not that we afraid that people will vote yes to it...we dont just want to see anything created by ojukwu in our lands..
if you people can change that name biafra to a collective name, then we be happy to join it

The story of Biafran occupation of the Midwest is for another day. No Asaba person was murdered in Benin. Ojukwu's propaganda is responsible for the death of stranded Biafran soldiers in Benin as they were made to believe on the radio Biafra broadcast that morning that Biafran soldiers are advancing towards Shagamu. Biafra conduct was so hedeous that the anger that followed their expulsion is a natural outcome. Ojukwu made an "Igbo" man as administrator of the Midwest after removing David Ejoor from the largest Uhrobo tribe. He arrested an sent into Biafra the most senior non Igbo civil servants and they were all rumored to have been executed and never return d till the end of the war. The conduct of the occupation Biafran army was atrocious. The shout that rented the air was "Na we get una now".

You guys are so pathetic in your lies and desperation, but I will keep schooling you all for free.

Same Okonjo Iweala Snr. that fought for Biafra and even Ngozi always recalls with nostalgia how she used to cook food for Biafran soldiers.

Now see the excepts of his biography and cure yourself of shameful ignorance.

How can any reasoning person see this man as an Igbo King?
Biafrans really have no brains.

you don't understand him

I don't need to understand him. He believes he has the perfect answer, that he understands the struggle more than anymore and that anyone who isn't looking at things his way, is enslaved. That's the attitude that causes people to become terrorist, fighting a holy war.

[s]The Army can never kill Yorubas the way they're slaughtering Igbos like dogs giving the same situation. Shame.[/s]

Childish rants.
The day they take up arms or have any group that challenges Nigeria or the army, they will also face same situation.

Sanwo Olu and Tinubu invited soldiers to attack #endsars protesters and many of them were massacred, so you see you have no point and you hardly makes sense.

Besides, Uzodimgba was never voted for, he didn't have the mandate of the people.

Views and Perspectives on the Location of the Headquarters
of Delta State, Nigeria, in Asaba
By Itse Sagay
Professor of Law, University of Benin
IN my short article entitled "Delta State: Its own worst enemy?", published in The Guardian on Monday June 10, 2001, I advocated certain solutions to the imminent political crisis in the state, which admittedly was controversial and bound to generate reaction and debate. I also expected that whilst some might accept my proposals, others particularly in the Ogboru camp might strongly contest my views. The issue of the location of the State capital in Anioma, instead of the real Delta State was incidental as far as I was concerned. It was meant to illustrate the fact that positive developments in the State tend to be accompanied by undesirable developments and phenomena. I little expected comments or criticisms on the issue of the State capital, although these are also welcome.
As expected quite a number of comments and reactions have rolled in. All these articles have been couched in decent, civilised language, and concentration has been on ideas and issues and not on personalities. That is, until Clem Okonjo's contribution published in the Guardian of Monday July 8, 2002. Okonjo abandoned the issue and descended on me, my motives etc and followed this with insulting, indeed abusive remarks. Let me illustrate with some examples. After describing my father as an icon, rare gem, detribalised etc Okonjo went on to state what a contrast I am to the 'great' man. In the first place my father has nothing to do with the issue, and Mr Okonjo is not qualified to judge his character, personality and achievements. Let Okonjo limit his views on personal qualities to members of his own family, who might appreciate it. For us in the Sagay family, it is an insult for some unknown quantity to dare to express his opinion about our illustrious father.

Who appointed Okonjo a judge of his superiors' character? It has become the norm for nonentities to award prices and honours to their superiors these days. This is just a variant of that practice. Okonjo, the Sagay family reject your views on our father. You are unworthy to be a judge of his character. In any case our father was not in issue in the matter under consideration. The Sagay family was not in issue, and we as a family do not want to hear his views on our father. Next in quick succession, Okonjo called me, (i) Uneducated in rudimentary truths, (ii) a political jobber and (iii) an Itsekiri man who is a political jobber for the Urhobos.

On the last issue, it would appear that Okonjo has been a beneficiary of the Itsekiri - Urhobo disputes and is extremely disturbed by a possible alignment of views between the two Sister Nations. Of course the present location of the Delta State Capital in Anioma State is a fallout of this dispute, with outside opportunists stoking the embers of the dispute and making away with the rights and interests of the quarrelling sisters. And so for my conviction that the capital of Delta State was immorally and shamelessly transferred outside Delta, instead of remaining at Warri where it had been capital of Warri province, since the 1920s, I am a political jobber for the Urhobos. It is better that I am so than to be a political jobber for Aniomas
