Most Nigerian guys don't cut their hair again. They go about with bushy dusty hair. To them it's fashion.

Go for tiling. Everyday people are building houses and the amount got in one tiling contract outweighs the amount got in cutting 5000 people's hair.
Note that the highest a Nigerian man would pay to cut his hair is N300 and most of them don't cut their hair again.

You're married. Going to learn a skill with 500k in the acct will make u look stupid to the person that gave u that money and u can't be trusted again if issue of money comes up. Is either you open up a small business for your wife to be managing while you learn a skill or u look for a business to do. No matter how stingy you are, that money must finish if you don't put it to a profitable business within a month. Learn tiles instead. But why not go for POP and screeding and suko painting.

Why does he want to learn either? He need first have a reason before you can advise him.

My dear, If you know what's good for you you better learn tiling. Barbing is not rosy for everyone as being painted especially if you reside in semi-urban area where people pay less for barbing service and of course it's not everyday people comes to barb. In my opinion which I stand to be corrected barbing work is mainly for sustenance in Nigeria. But with tiling job a single contract can change your life. It is even more dignifying to be known as tiler than barber. And if you notice almost every building project requires tiling service even if it just for bathroom. My opinion though .

How much should one budget for a good and standard barbing saloon?

I will also go for barbing.

Barber? 10yrs ur still at the same spot. You will be there the little boy u used to barb when he was a little kid will enter secondary sch, finish university ur still barbing. The worst thing is that ur shop will be home for homeless destitutes where bad boys for the area go dey gather.
