Op listen good, ignore those telling you how they are succeeding or succeeded in the north coz i am very certain they are all muslims or in skme ways tribally or culturally close to them. I did my secondary school in a place where not a single xtian reside and I wouldn't wish my experience on my enemy meanwhile my cousin who was a muslim had a much better experience. Muslims are somewhat cruel and hnkind towards the other religion, it gets worse when tribalism sets jn. |

Fidelmak: Its your decision OP. At the end of the day you won't gain much staying at home. If you have a job opportunity in Taraba, take it and build on from there. I worked in Taraba 2 years and Jalingo is quiet and safe. Take your opportunities. 5 Likes |

Fidelmak:Where is the home? Which state or town? However I don't know when you you served at Taraba but even if it is last year, the situation there has changed to what it was then. Also the situation in the country does not support moving here and there at least for now. Thirdly , what assurance do you have that you can easily get job there now? Why did you come back initially after your service? Well, I wish you the best in whatever decision you make 2 Likes |

Fidelmak:Bro. This is exactly what I'm facing right now, I'm a graduate and all my plans was to travel to lagos but my parent are opposing it. Now I'm just stuck here without doing anything rather than eat-sleep-eat-sleep. I'm actually frustrated now with tension. my mind now is disorganized, should I follow their opinion or should I follow my mind??….. And the way culture and religion puts it, there is no chance for disobeying your parents whether they are right or wrong. They painted lagos as a jungle full of beast that is ready to devour me. I'm confused right now. I really want to follow my mind but I don't want to disobey them. 2 Likes |

Kingsasian:Same with Kano state, I can't wait to be done with school so I can return to Kano I laugh when I see people on this platform taunt the North for her insecurity issues like the south does not face her own fair share of it, it took me moving to Lagos to realize that Kano and in fact most Northern states are way better than whatever you could get down south 8 Likes |

Oga, I'm in Taraba state, Jalingo to be precise. Nothing dey this town in terms of job o. Everywhere dry! I served here as well. Unless you have godfathers you can't get civil service and if you get, government can owe you up to a year salary. To tell you how hard it is, I'm relocating to southwest next month. Mind you Jalingo is peaceful, no insurgency but outside Jalingo? OYO Taraba don dry! 1 Like |

Go North, it is very peaceful right now. Don't be dismayed by fake news pushers and alarmists. Even if you are to fall victim to any attack just know that it is the will of Allah. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Saintinoo: Story if you are skilled and with small sense you can build very well. That is why I laugh when I come online here and many fools are abusing the north when their brothers are the ones given jobs and contracts over the locals. Many of the staff we employed in Abuja and Kano were from the South all parts. Some ended up in government jobs others even did visa lottery which we supported and they went abroad. Today we still have 70% of staff from the south. Anybody that tells you not to go where standard of living is cheaper doesn’t want your progress. Just make sure there is a real job for you there and stay away from trouble makers. 2 Likes |

Saintinoo: North is where to start for southerners, now and in the past . A significant proportion of notable and highly successful southerners started from the north thus falsifying you same level theory. Few examples of those whose fame or success was related to the north include Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Luis Ojukwu, Chukwuma Nzeugwu, Cyperian Ikwensi,Dora Akunyili, General Ike Nwachukwu, Rochas Okorocha Donald Duke and thousands more. This is only from Eastern side of the Niger, as for those from the western side many have become even elected Governors and senior military officers representing the North. I will advise the teacher in Taraba to carry go , he is on the right track. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Even if you live among your ancestors and relatives , you have no guarantee that you will reach 100 years of age. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Don't listen to your parents bro. Go and secure the job asap. I served in Ogun, ibafo precisely. I had alot of opportunities to secure a job there, but my mum insisted I must come back to East. I got a teaching job in the East but the pay wasn't ok. I had to move down to Abj to join my friend in POS business, I started mine but I was robbed of all my savings. Currently doing nothing now and patiently waiting for the day I will rest in peace. I can't take it no more. 1 Like 1 Share |

JayB11:I am not trying to stop the OP from moving to the north, the person qouting you is someone who have stayed, mastered and studies almost 12 Northern states, reason why i am very confident about what i am saying, the OP can as well come and try, no body says he can not make it in the North, but it will be faster for him up South. And about he North and their lifestyle, only someone who have stayed in the North for about 10years will understand what i mean, their mentality is a no growth mentality, you have to fast and pray to break that. |
