Should I Go Back Home Or Travel North For Job? by Fidelmak(m): 4:47pm On Jun 09, 2021 |
Good evening guys, I need your advice on this: I am pressured by my family not to travel to Taraba state for job due to various news about insurgency whereas I served there. My parent don't want me to leave and I find it difficult to stay at home please i need your suggestions.. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

If you re sure of getting a job there.. I did say u should damn all consequences and go. Except if the job is not certain. Same parents will taunt u with your joblessness while reminding you that u eat too much food without contributing anything when they re fed up with u. See ehh....everything in life is all about risks...intact, you living in Nigeria at this point in time is a risk on its own, so why the fear of taking a risk on a risk? 210 Likes 8 Shares |

My brother, you are responsible for your own life o. I also served in Taraba 3 years ago and went home (delta) immediately after service in 2019. Na so I search for jobs tire even travelled to Abuja to apply for jobs all to no avail. I had to move back to Jalingo to manage school job and to be honest schools here in Jalingo pay better than the ones in the south. I currently work with one of the biggest schools here, basic pay is way above minimum wage not to talk of other side benefits. My family members and friends almost crucified me for the decision I took but, when I ask them say who among them go fit foot my bills, nobody fit answer. I may not be rich but at least I dey pay my bills with enough change left. Taraba is 10 times safer than most states in the south. I never encounter any wahala. Insecurity issues here is not as it is in the other parts of the country. 305 Likes 11 Shares |

Fidelmak:I am not trying to discourage you but the North is not where you wil hustle, forget the cheap food in the North, you will look at your life in the next 10years and find out that you are in same level. The lifestyle of the Northerners made it that way. 96 Likes 10 Shares |

Fidelmak:I'm a soldier presently in taraba and it's relatively safe compared to other states. But I really don't see any good job here unless you have something doing already. 87 Likes 3 Shares |

Before you leave, hug your mother, hug your brother and sisters, hug your dad, visit your girlfriend and fvck her for the last time, kiss her and take to the road. Please don't listen to your parents. Bye! 72 Likes 2 Shares |

OP, If you like Taraba state, the people and their culture, and you're sure of getting job in the state, I think you should consider going there. One thing people don't know is that, getting a nice job in the Northern part of the country is much more easier than any part of the country. Of a truth, the place of insecurity can not be overemphasized, but then I don't think safety is guaranteed (to a very large extent) in any part of the country presently. I had my NYSC on the Plateau, Jos precisely. I was advised to stay back by my employer, I was able to convince my parents and they agreed. And I can say that decision is one of the best I've made in the last decade. I will just advise you @OP, to channel your job search to the state capital, the state capitals in the North are always safe, at least to some extent. Another thing is, they don't employ you based on the class you graduated with, it's none of their business, since you're good at what you do and you can deliver, you're good to go. Most importantly, pray about it, let God direct and order your steps. You're more safer than save. Selah. 47 Likes 2 Shares |

No guts No glory. Obey your instincts and be security conscious, we are in same shoe. I am planning to return to katsina my service state to do Art n Agric business against all odds. But I'm waiting to get the sign that road is clear. My guy go n come, you will not lose but gain. 15 Likes 1 Share |

Most times people do things without involving God in everything. Pray before you go so as to get direction so you won't return the same way you went. If you're a Christian pray and ask God for a solution, if you're a Muslim visit Alfas and ask them to pray for you and if you're a traditionalists visit them and ask them to help you check if that place you're travelling to will favour you. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ but am only saying this cause you might not be a Christian and you might belong to other religion. 27 Likes 2 Shares |
