You can still apply!
Make sure you get a high score in your GRE. Check their website for additional info.

Do they require WES? Or the transcripts sent straight from my school?

Good day, I was denied Student Visa today and am still wondering what I did wrong.

First she asked me why the school, what I have been doing since I finished school, my age and if am married next thing she just stopped when I told her my Sponsor is our family friend and explained our family ties but she gave me the blue paper.
Its quite obvious that the sponsor is the reason for the denial. Family friend is really a long shot. Feel free to drop a better transcript with your full profile for others to advice.

Just curious, what is wrong with getting schools with good funding from Nairaland? I would argue exploring all 16 parts of this thread either for interview transcript or finding good schools is also a form of research and due diligence.

Let’s face it, it isn’t. It’s frankly lazy. The number of schools referenced here are only a tiny fraction of the number of schools available. I also think chastising people for exercising their right to not mention school programs they found through their own hard work is unfair bullying. Do your own work.

Hi, I am new here. I wanted to do nursing (Associate Degree) in the US. Can anyone recommend a community college that is accepting International students? I have searched the internet but I wasn't getting enough info. Please help a sister out if you are currently doing nursing or about to. Thanks in advance!

You will likely be denied. A nursing degree from most community colleges is a basic LPN. You should look for nursing schools instead…University of Rochester School of Nursing is one I recommend.

There are no “family ties” between friends. You just told the VO you were simply using his/her account statement to obtain a visa. No friend is paying thousands of dollars to send you to school.

Very easy go to immigration website and fill your data then go and pay the fee at any bank that accepts eg union back at GRA junction or UBA at the ground floor in the federal secretariat. then gather all needed documents and go to federal secretariat and submit. If you go very early you will get it that same day by close of business.

Get her passport same day? That's being overzealous.

Thanks as I await your response.

Dm me bro.. got Pittsburgh too
Vahn:
Hello Everyone,

Please i gained admission into the university of Pittsburgh (katz business school), i was told that i have the ability to apply for jobs that can help with tuition and i was sent the link although they said it may be too early to secure an employment for fall. Although i have applied to 4 reasearch assistant roles

I have to pay a $1000, as deposit fee but i cant afford the whole tuition.

Please what can you advise me to do. I have my flight , visa, sevis ,first month rent, and feeding cash only.

Additionally (i have an admission form the Montclair State University i have not been granted my 1-20 yet, neither have i been granted graduate assistantships but they would need a bank statement, but the Major reason why i prefer Pittsburgh is because of the curriculum, its very very indepth and makes a lot of sense when compared to others. Its a Masters in Business Analytics and they have a concentration in Finance.

Why you should Cold Mail Professors if you are looking For FULLY-FUNDED GRADUATE IN THE U.S. (STEM/NON-STEM)

To get a FULLY-FUNDED GRADUATE opportunity in the U.S, it's very possible & you have to be very intentional about it, then package your documents very well to submit a strong and airtight application.

I would be using a Graduate of Geophysics for illustration

Google for Geophysics Professors in the U.S. whose Research areas aligns with your Research interests, then draft a dope Academic CV (your Research interests must be on your Academic CV), and send a non-generic Cold Mail to them each. Make sure your Academic CV and your Transcript are attached whenever you send cold mails to Profs.

See the link below for a
Standard Academic CV for MASTERS & PH.D Admission (LINK FOR PDF FILE)
https://www.oise.utoronto.ca/orss/UserFiles/File/Creating_your_academic_cv_handout_1.pdf

See the links below for Samples of result-oriented Cold Mails (4-Samples)
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/103#102538464

See the link below to know to search for PROFESSORS in your research interests
https://www.nairaland.com/3466778/scholarships-international-students-apply-here/95#101532358

Something you should be careful of about COLD MAIL

Don't send a generic cold mail to professors.

That is,
" Don't send the Cold Mail meant for Dr. Cardozo to Dr. Arinola"

In a nutshell, don't send one mail copy to multiple profs.

Make sure you take your time to tailor your cold mail in accordance to the RESEARCH AREAS of each Professors.

As a Prospective Graduate Student (Masters), you need to have the following documents to kick start your GRADUATE SCHOOL JOURNEY in the U.S etc.

- Academic CV (Well drafted)
- Transcript (get the student Copy from your school)
- Cold Mail (To be drafted & sent to each professors based on their research areas)
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) for GRADUATE School (not SOP for Visa Application)
- Cover Letter (if required)
- Published Thesis (might be helpful) but not Compulsory etc.

Winter (January) or Fall (September) 2022 PHD admission intake should be your target

Good evening everyone. Please help. I'm trying to evaluate hnd with WES.
I know I'll send my ND transcript together with the hnd transcript but In the process of creating profile on their website, I want to know if I'll only input details for Hnd alone or I will include details for OND as well (that means I will have details for two diplomas there)
I'm really confused and I don't want to make mistake.

Once you select HND as your education, automatically it will add ND as a requirement. So just ensure you give your schools for ND and HND the reference number from WES.

Someone from here called me few days back to give him Schools to apply. I told him you have to put in the time to do that yourself and learn. If I have to do it for you it doesn't come free. The truth is I put in lots of time to research about Universities not just in the US but also Aussie, Canada, UK and Germany. I started reading this Student VISA thread from 2015. I read compilations of all the transcripts. It wasn't easy putting in lots of time but it is worth it. Today, I can view someone profile & tell what are the probable school he/she can apply.
