Biafra, Oduduwa Citizens Would Not Be Valued Like Nigerians - Obasanjo by gistsmill04: 4:26am On Jun 11, 2021
Political elder statesman and former Nigerian leader has warned agitators nursing secessionist aspirations to think twice about their actions. According to the former president, Biafra and Oduduwa citizens won’t be valued like Nigerians.

He said this at the luncheon and investiture of Kehinde Isijola as the new chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Ogun State branch, on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He criticized proposals for secession at a time when Africa is working to reintegrate its political, social, and economic systems.

Here is what Obasanjo had to say:
“If there is any Nigerian who does not feel worried about the country’s position, that person is a human being without being human,” Obasanjo stated.

“Any Nigerian who is human will be concerned, if not outraged, by the country’s current position. We’re concerned about the security situation, the economic situation, and our political position, and the drum we’re hearing is one of disintegration.

“I am a strong believer of one Nigeria, but not one Nigeria at any cost, but one Nigeria where every Nigerian can feel proud that he or she has a stake in this country.

“No Nigerian is born a slave in this country. No Nigerian is born to be oppressed in this country and those of us that have shed part of our blood and sweat for this country, we did that because we wanted a country where every Nigerian can claim as his or her own.

“I believe that if we talk among ourselves the way we should and if we change the narrative, I believe this is a great country. That we are not making Nigeria what God wants it to be is not the fault of God, but the fault of ourselves, particularly our leaders.

“One thing that gives us strength is our diversity. If all that we have is Republic of Oduduwa for those who said so, their position is understandable. If that is all we have, members of that country will be diminished compared to be a citizen of Nigeria. Citizens of Oduduwa Republic or any other republic from Nigeria will be diminished compared to citizens of Nigeria.

“In this age and time that we are talking about the reintegration of Africa for economic development, disintegration of any country will be almost idiotic. Even if we have Igboland as an independent country, Yorubaland an independent country and Fulani/Hausaland an independent country.

“And as a friend of mine in the military used to say then, what will become of the over 300 minorities – the Jukuns, the Gbasamas? Where will they belong? The only reason they can raise up their heads is because they belong to Nigeria. Are we thinking of them or are we are just being selfish? It doesn’t matter what we do, we will still be neighbours.

“We had seen it before, India was broken into India and Pakistan, they are still at war till today. Yugoslavia was broken into how many countries, they haven’t sorted it till today. Sudan was broken into Sudan and South Sudan, I don’t believe South Sudan is better for it and that is the truth.

“I believe it will cost us less to work for our unity, there are many things wrong, but those things are correctable if we make efforts to correct them and hold us together than what it will cost us to break up and be perpetually at war and all our money will be spent in building an army. I know what an army contains, I know what it means to keep an army, an army that may not be productive, let us think about it.”

Obasanjo is a fool. Nigerians should disregard these old men supporting the existence of Nigeria, they are only doing that because of what they are gaining from Nigeria. Greedy old men who puts their wellbeing and wellbeing of their families first, before every other citizen. Any old wise none greedy politician would reject Nigeria and speak up the truth which is to tell the world that Nigeria is a failed country and must be dissolved, but these old fools only supports Nigeria because of their greediness. It is high time Nigerians especially the youths must stop listening to this old men and take the bull by the end.

Obasanjo is only given us instances of African countries that seceded and not doing fine, how about those African countries that seceded and are doing well.
E.g Lesotho seceded from South Africa and today Lesotho is doing just fine. Namibia also seceded from south Africa and Today, Namibia is doing fine, has the best cleanest city in Africa and the number one literate African country even far better that South Africa. Namibia which seceded from South Africa has more trust internationally than South Africa because Namibian International passport can take you to UK, Canada, US and other top countries without requesting for another passport, which is why even south Africa and Nigerians runs to Namibia just to get hold of Namibian passport.

Right to self-determination is a principle enshrined in the United Nations Charter. 20. It denotes the legal right of a group of people to determine their own country from another country. So Nigeria have no option but to obey that charter 20 of the UN right to self determination.

When Yugoslavia collapse, Slovenia , Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo declared independence from Yugoslavia. In 2006, Montenegro and Serbia also went their separate ways and all this countries are doing fine and well recognized all over the world. Look at Croatia, one of the best countries that broke out from Yugoslavia, they almost won the world cup recently.

Obasanjo my take home everyday.
Many of the people calling him names are doing their best to express their ignorance in public. If at his age he has such a thing to say then my respect for him will continue to grow. Just imagine if such a comment is coming from Tinubu or the dullard who thinks the way forward is another genocide?
Obasanjo, hate him or not, he will always be who he is everyday.
A point to note - Is there any country in the world where Nigerians (Igbos) are so driven (e.g South Africa / Ghana) that you will not find them refusing to go? The Ibo man has his business scattered all over this country. In some state like even in Lagos State they have a lot of them in tech section.
Till date Ibos are still in their flock relocating to the West and everyday people will not hear word with Biafra agitations.
Once upon a time the Ibos were against the breaking up of this country and so as it stand NOBODY GO NO WHERE; WE DIE HERE! IF YOU MOVE I MOVE YOU.
I love my Ibo brothers a lot and i know they need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs them.
Forget the hate, we know how much we love ourselves, soon this fulani madness will be over and we will all have a saner country to behold.
Good day as i mark my birthday today.

Which value does Nigeria have, how many countries see our passport and smile at us with a handshake?

Only Obasanjo and his likes are the only respected Nigerians.

Obj i understand you, put yourself in our shoes. Ordinary Ghana here, you and your likes with the FG couldn't intervene for Nigerians living and doing legitimate business there.

We want to go our different ways. You have benefited alot from Nigeria and leaved it in rots and curruption.

2. Namibia is not the most literate, it's not better than South Africa its in level of Botswana
3. NAMIBIA has weaker passport compared to south Africa, in Africa its Seychelles, Mauritius then south Africa.
4. No south African travel to Namibia for passport, Namibian passport is weake to south African one
5. South African passport can travel to over 100 countries visa free

Yes, we cannot, that is why some of us are clamouring for restructuring to give in for true federalism where every region will enact laws and grow at a pace they solely desire.
The fulani hegemony you see everywhere is as a result of we getting it wrong by bringing in a jihadist as our president. There is a reason why he has been failing in previous elections and there is a reason why he will continue to be a failure even to his grave. We got it wrong when APC came in with their CHANGE mantra only to take us deeper to a kind of life we have almost forgorten.

The great question is What have we learnt in all of these? As a people and region how are we positioned to change the status quo? I strongly believe there are thinkers and brilliant tactics can be derive to upturn the nonsense we have as govt in our present society.
[b]If for example we have the Biafra today and such things are been experienced are we going to allow another form of disentegration?

The fulani madness cannot stand because they still see the Ibos as their greatest threat.
One thing i am very glad about this APC regime is that in the nearest future when we see a fulani man coming for elective position we will think twice. They are the worst people to run a country, All of them are birds of the same feathers, same mentality, same stupidity. (All of them same terrorist mindset apologies to the few good ones if there is any).

Do not change history please. Obasanjo did not fight against Biafra but fought very hard to keep Nigeria as ONE! During his civilian dispensation Obj brought in a lot of technocrats from Ibo extention, you cannot take that away from him. Obasanjo is pro Nigeria, one of the most hated yoruba leader in the SW.
Take it from me in all of Lagos and i can even say no where in the west will you see Obj so honoured yet he remains one man who even after leaving office will not stop talking about affairs the way he deem it fit.
When last did you hear Tinubu talking about issues the way it affect his own people not to talk of the nation at large, i can bet my balls that no man can fit into Obj's shoes God forbid should anything happen to him. He has not relented speaking for Nigerians.
Yes, you may have so many things against him no doubt but his milestone no Nigerian may be able to attain.

I have nothing against obj. He performed well as head of state-miliary and civilian. He is a strong advocate of one Nigeria. That was reason he brought a lot of technocrats from igbo and minority tribes during his presidency.
