Lol cheesy cheesy, do you really see all these things or it's just a kind of cruise/ proverb.
falseprophet:

I see a naive jobless youth unaware of how to take care of his business, i see a young but lost citizen losing this opportunity based on wrong advice from other jobless youths, i see him blaming govt after many years of joblessness, and finally i see him buying sharp laptop and starting a new career in bombing...

This i have seen!

Hi Everyone

I would need your opinion as regard the mail I received from Citi Bank after the interview

Please note that the mail was sent from Citi Talent Acquisition Team and also i will highlight only the first paragraph of the mail

Subject of the Mail: Invitation to Citi Talent
Community

You may have recently registered via our Talent Community page or had a recent conversation with one of our recruiters which led to a Talent Community career profile being created on your behalf.

Please nairalander who has gone through this stage please make una help me biko

Its called onboarding...a means of integrating you into the team. In the community, you'd see posts like people expressing their opinions about Citi Bank, how privileged they are for being considered as an applicant, your experience during interview, etc. You should be glad you received this because you're as good as being there already.

Anyone who had had the opportunity of working with famous multinationals in this forum would arrest This. I received one, likewise my 2 cousins( one working with wellsfargo, while the other, with Standard Bank of South Africa ( of which stanbic-IBTC is a subsidiary). No shaking. Congrats!

Hello OP, congratulations!
This is one in the series of recruitment stages. Getting a place into any multinationals is never an easy thing and, once you are able to break in, you are in for a successful career.

Have you had any interview or test with Citi? If yes, there is likelihood that you were successful in that very stage of their recruitment and the company is progressing with your application.

However, if you have not had any interview or test and you got this message, it may just be a system generated email informing you of receipt of your application which has now been entered into their talent pool for possible consideration by the recruiting manager.

Nevertheless, don't be overtly worked up or tensed. Recruitment by multinationals extends up to a year and the waiting time could be 'killing and tensed', especially if you don't have anything doing at the moment. I have been there before and so I am abreast of how their recruitment works.

Engage yourself in other things and hope for the best and also expect the worst as well which in most cases is a rejection email at any of the recruitment stages.
Your head dey dia. I've not even read your comment before I passed my comment to the OP after reading his post. All of us who had passed through that phase in the past understood what the content meant.

All the posts you may have read here is a true reflection of our youths in Nigeria. They have a millions miles to go. Throw a political post at them you'd see them calling themselves all manners of names. Once you give them 5k, their problem is solved. Ask them to grab a ballot box, they'd gladly do that , even in the face of possible mob-attacks. i pity our generation of youths.

A friend of mine was employed by Citibank in Lagos. The guy was so good he got promoted to head their retirement funds. Before we knew what was happening, he was transfered to new york to head a local branch there. So the sky is the limit for you.

After the bolded is fine.... but the first step is what we are dealing with here ... did Citibank reach out to him?... or did he reach out to Citibank? In this case...Citibank is reaching out to him ... which reputable businesses do not do.... let alone a multinational ccorporation.
You may have applied.... really?.... OP need to be finding out how they got his info. What talent are they looking for? When businesses need to recruit for whatever reason... they advertise... those who are interested apply. This is a scam. ... don't ever believe it is a golden opportunity.

Ok. If they specifically mentioned interview invite in the mail, then congratulations and get set for the call. It means your application has been reviewed by the recruiting manager and progressed to interview stage.

Did they state the date for the interview? Short listing is different from invitation for an interview. Invitation for an interview must indicate: date, time and venue. Are these three things in your email interview invite?

Short listing or long listing for an interview sometimes may be done by the HR or system generated. The recruiting manager finally selects applicants from among the short-listed to appear for the face to face interview. So, be sure of the one you got.

Most of the time, the system does the short or long listing of applicants based on certain parameters and codes which are embedded in the system to help it scan through thousands of Cvs and shortlist applicants. Those short-listed will get automated email beginning with: no-reply@....

Proper interview email is sent most times by a natural person with a known name from the company.
