Got my visitor Visa today at exactly 3 months
Glory be to God

What I did:
I applied and waited prayerfully until God perfected it

Best of luck to other applicants in Jesus name

The wait is discouraging me. To think that they can visit Nigeria without having to wait for 3 months while they make us wait that long is not good.

Congratulations by the way.

Abuja is walk in except things have changed due to lesser crowd than lagos which does by appointment. You should check vfs south Africa website online first. It's online!
Hello good evening sir.
Please could you recommend a trusted place I can submit application for South Africa visa here in Lagos or must it be done online

Congrats to toplop. Please guys, In addition to waiting and praying, if anyone has applied for a visa and still awaiting the outcome of the application and he/she thinks it is taking longer than normal, please be encouraged to send the South African High Commisson a constructive and polite email "EVERYDAY" and "VERY EARLY IN MORNING" possibly around 8am Naija time "UNTIL" you receive the outcome of your visa. From experience, doing that could also fast track the processing. SA visa application for Naija don dey gradually become "winners never quit and quitters never win". Good luck!!

The question should be why are applications being delayed ? I had to wait 7 weeks to get my passport back and I wasn’t happy about that. All enquires made were greeted with just pray about it which for me is not a prayer point. On Saturday the NIS officer that stamped me out of Lagos airport told me about how difficult it had become to secure an SA visa recently. On arrival at OR Tambo yesterday was granted one month stay but will be here for less than a week . The weather is a bit cold particularly at evenings but the government of SA needs to understand that most of us are only coming to do one or two things legitimate activities and leave long before the timeline granted to us. Not cool going through such documentation and wait times

Guys I have been offered admission but told that I need to have a proposal approved within a year.
The rest of instructions are about payment of part tuition.
Pls what next need I do? Work with my supervisor virtually or apply for Visa? The man is not really answering those questions

You should start your visa application process. Even though you are allowed to study virtually at the moment, it is better to have your visa ready. Most supervisors are more motivated to work with you when they know you are around physically which is an indication that you are available to study full-time.

You find Nigerians all over the world looking for greener pastures which is not a bad idea actually but why? I personally don't understand why SA visa applications are being delayed lately and it is quite unfortunate that we find ourselves in this situation as Nigerians. I think we just have to keep trying. Enjoy your one week stay in SA.

The long wait to process Visas (except for tourist Visas) dates back to 2018. I think they enjoy making us wait for a long time to receive feedback about the status of our visa applications.

It isn't the case if they want to visit Nigeria though. The waiting period to process Nigerian visas by South Africans is nothing compared to the time they make us wait...

Congratulations by the way. Enjoy your stay.

Good day everyone. Please I’ll need suggestions/advice.
I applied for a visitors visa in March before I got married, but my passport was taking long to get back to me, so my spouse came back a month later and we got married. We waited almost a month after marriage , and the passport wasn’t still sent back. He had to go back to SA, hoping I’d get my passport back with visa in it. Sadly I was denied after 2 months of waiting.

Now I want to reapply. we have been joined legally, he’s on a business permit. What type of visa should I apply for and what are the requirements ?please I would really appreciate if I’m being attended to. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I can relate as I had similar experience with my partner.

If I may ask, what was the reason(s) stated for the rejection? If these reasons are addressed, then you stand a chance of getting your visa approved when you reapply.

Thanks for your response. All documents were intact. The reason stated for denial was there wasn’t proof between the host and myself. Meanwhile it was his uncle who has a PR that sent the invite before we got married. Now we are married, I want to know if his current status (business permit) can allow him send me an invite.

I know Spousal visa is doable but I am not sure it is granted to business permit holders. The information on DHA website reads thus

South African visitors’ visas may be granted for:

visits to family or friends and also for tourism purposes
business purposes
spouse to join a spouse who is in South Africa on a work or study visas
children to join parents who are in South Africa on work or study visas

study purposes
charitable or voluntary activities
research
conferences
to work in the production of a movie or show (i.e. in the entertainment industry)
or medical purposes, when a patient needs to receive life saving treatment. (max stay 3-months)
sport events

Thanks a lot. Yeah I think the spousal visa is for PR holders and citizens. He’s neither of them.

That’s where the confusion comes. I don’t know if he can send me an invite with his current status. Or do I just apply as a tourist? Pretty confused. I really want to do it right this time.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by JesusAndMe: 1:37pm On Jun 16, 2021
If the spousal visa option is not available, I would suggest you apply for a visitor (or relative) visa. If considered, the visa can allow you to reside in SA with your spouse for as long as 2 years. I know of someone currently in SA on a critical skills work visa whose wife was issued a visitor visa of 1 year 6 months because that was the duration they indicated in their visa application. I equally know of a guy on a study visa who applied for a spouse accompany visa for his wife and the wife was granted. So, I think it is possible and worth trying.

Why look for an agent to process your visa application when you can initiate the process yourself?

He is very right
My husband sent all the necessary documents and I submitted myself
You can always do it all by yourself from the beginning till the end
This is my third time of being issued visa
Short term 2 times and long term
We have never employed an agent
I hope this helps
