Hello, I am corper serving in a semi-urban area in the north central region of Nigeria. My monthly allowance is N33,000 plus my employer's monthly stipend of N4,000. My monthly total earning is N37,000.

Below is my monthly budget (NGN)

TRANSPORT - 3200
GAS - 1600
FOOD - 15,580
DATA & AIRTIME - 1500
MISCELLANEOUS - 1500

TOTAL MONTHLY EXPENSES - 23,000 (apx)

TOTAL MONTHLY SAVINGS - 14,000 + budget surplus

I have learnt to be frugal and only pay for needs and not wants ever since I started service because cost of living in Nigeria is very high. I am also brain storming on business and farming ideas to venture into to supplement my earnings.

Cost of living in the North is cheaper compared to other places. I wish you success throughout your service period.

I'm very sure 2 cartons of indomie & 1 pack of cornflakes are part of the food stuffs.

Food, accommodation, transportation etc are cheaper up north

Are you for real, I served in Port, my dear I had to borrow money to come back home. Even in the core northern part were food is for free, my dear that budget is not achievable. How about your toiletr>toiletries, medical bills and other stuff like babe card. I don't believe

Yes, it's very possible. I spend over 20k a month for feeding...I'm not a corper though. But what I'm doubting is spending just a thousand-five hundred for both talk-time and data every month unless he only chats on WhatsApp.

its my 6th month into the service i only have 14k in my account. i tried as much as i can to save but i couldnt so i gave up

NYSC should be scrapped, the scheme is useless and outlived jgz usefulness. Coming from an ex corps member.

In 2018/2019, With N19800 and 6k stipends I was able to save 12k every month as a corps member serving in a school in Mararraba, Donga LGA of Taraba State.

I never had a girlfriend and I was healthier than I left home.
Imagine I received 30k monthly...

That's cool. Taraba is a good state to serve, even though opportunities are scarce.
I served in Gembu, Mambilla Plateau 19B2. It was one of the most satisfying years of my life

Lol...it will take you a thorough discipline to stick to that.. meanwhile, am an ex-corp member, served in the east..I save N200k of my allowance.,after service, the state government paid us N100k.
Making it N300k.
A week after pop, I did a freelancing job that gave me another N300k..all the money still dey my acct now since February..
