The real injustice is people who borrow and refuse to pay back and as a result of that another person in the loan company is sacked or denied his salary!
..... There is a difference between refused and not being able to and that's something you won't understand until you get in need... A lady presently borrowed money from a loan app to add to her pos business..... A few days into the loan, yahoo Boys sent her fake alerts and collected almost 300k in cash from her...... Such a person, will u say she has refused to pay back or is unable to pay back.... After explaining things to the loan firm with proof , is it not wise and human for them to work out a suitable repayment plan for her? Why send her contacts messages and call her a criminal? What did she steal from them?

Since you say you had a well paying job it means your colleagues were also well paid. What I find strange is why a person who earns a good salary food it so difficult to find a friend or relative to lend him just 14K at short notice.

What that means is that you're not even a credit worthy person to begin with!
.... Colleagues wen go use am gossip me say I dey borrow 14k? Nah.... I'll take my chances with credible loan apps like branch and fair money...... As dangote get money reach, e no dey borrow do business? Asking why a man is comfortable and still borrowing is an invalid question because unforseen circumstances may arise which you may not have enough funds to attend to and you may have to result to borrowing...... The bone of contention here is this.... If it's not wickedness, why will a loan firm give out 21k to a salary earner and expect to be paid 30k in 6 days? To u does it make any sense? U may want to say no one was forced to borrow the money but again let me ask u this.. A man who's daughter needs surgery ND is at the point of death, don't you think he will borrow from even the devil and with the harshest terms just to save the life of his daughter?

When you work for a loan company there is no type of lie you will not hear from customers just because they want to avoid repaying the loan.

Eventually when you realise that these people have turned you to a fo0l you will just assume that everything a customer tells you is a lie because that is the only way you will ever make progress and achieve results on your job!

Nigerians love to abuse privileges, if you give one person benefit of doubt for one story the next day everyone will start telling the same story, all lies because they also want to get the same benefit even though they don't deserve it

If you don't use iron hand in your loan business Nigerian customers will turn you into an idiot and bankrupt your business!

Let me tell you something if you lend money to an individual then when it's time to pay back he/she intentionally starts ignoring your calls, email reminders and text messages, legally speaking it can be construed to mean that the person has committed theft because he/she has made himself willfully incommunicado in order to fraudulently avoid redeeming his/her loan obligations!

... That iron hand have caused many to lose their marriages, their jobs, their sanity and their sleep and that's what people are fighting to eliminate.... Fair money don't do all these things yet they are still progressing.... If these loan firms really want to help Nigerians, they will adopt similar methods that fair money use to help Nigerians but Instead of doing that, they choose to torment the lives of Nigerians and cause problems for many.... Fair money gives u 5k for example to pay 6150 at the end of 30 days and they are progressing very well....even if you default by a few days, they won't call your contacts or label you criminals but soko loan will borrow u 5k to pay 9k plus in 14 days and when you default for just one day, everyone on your contact list will receive a message that you're a criminal on the run..... Bros let me ask u.... How does this make any sense to u?

Sorry for what you're going through.

Is that you couldn't get a friend or family member to stand as surety for you?

That's way too far for 14k loan. But how were you not able to raise 12k from friends and family when they knew you were working?

Getting help online can be very difficult because some persons try to play smart on others which makes genuine givers withhold giving.

Yes, it is justified.

You are looking at your own point of view, why don't you turn the tables and view it from their own point of view. There was an agreement on the day of the payment and the amount to be paid, which you obliged to and collected their money. If everyone is like you will there be a business for them to run?

Go and try it in Mexico or Italy, they will beat you like a stray dog.

To make matters worse, you said you said you begged the agent. the agent? Your predicament is non of the egent's business, his or her own is to document your response.

So please learn to follow agreement next time.

Sorry for your loss.
But this is business sir. They have to do, what they have to do. It's not personal.
You should have negotiated for month end as payment date from the beginning because that is what matches your cashflow. Trying to change the agreed payment date after receiving funds is a red flag for any lender. In fact your character and integrity is called to question.
Also, the fact that you have a job that pays well but cannot withstand an emergency of 12K implies that you are not disciplined and are living above your means. And with your well paying job, nobody can lend you 12K? Again, your character is in doubt considering that this is a small amount. But that is your private business.
I'm Sure you don't realise that the agent too is under pressure from his employer to recover funds. The fellow might even be sacked. If you were the agent, would you rather be sacked? Besides, I don't think the agent has authority to extend tenure of credit.
I'm Sure you are wiser now.

On that, you can even sue them as long as you can prove that it was a deformations of character and it was not part of the agreement clause.

So if you are sure of yourself, sue them.if you can't sue them, then you are guilty as charged. Because what they did carry a very big magnitude.

About the agent thingy, most of this loan businesses trick people into it.check out banks, they ask you for a collateral in exchange for your loan.they make all the rules and even take your property when you default. Now imagine someone telling you to come and collect loan without collateral, don't you know it would be serious at the long wrong. They are not father Christmas and there is no free meal anywhere again. So it is not really the agent's fault, he or she is only trying to make a living.

We can block them on WhatsApp by reporting them, and do thesame for all social media. Even the App on Google play by reporting them as fraudsters. Even the account details you can use it to search for their company's address and suit them for deformation of characters.

Hmmm, what works for me is this, before using any loan app, I try as much as possible to read the comments or ratings on play store..

I wont ever try to use sokoloan because the have a bad ratings for character defamation..

Meanwhile, loan apps like branch, carbon are top excellent..

Do you know I defaulted in repaying my loan with carbon for almost a week and there was no character defamation, just a gentle reminder to make repayment..
Even when I finally got money to make repayment, the message which was sent to me was very touching.

It was in pidgin, it said, "Remember how this loan take help you o!, E no good oo, I was touched to my bone marrow that I had to look for means to pay up..

My message is, before taking out loans, always choose a date for repayment at least 4-5 days from when you expect to pay back to avoid defaulting..

Cheers!

I think it is better to create awareness and avoid trouble. Fighting them may be costly.

Arguing with these slaves is equal to waste of time. So because the guy needs a little cash he must turn to friends and relatives. They must know his secrets.
You see I have stopped arguing with them cos even if a customer dies as a result of their reckless actions it means nothing to them. Theirs is to get money. That's the way their slave masters mentored, wired their brain, forgetting that these same people left their country to feast on Nigerians and by God's grace they would fail.
It's not by force, leave the indigenous loan companies and get out of our country.
A friend lost contract close to millions of naira cos of these same people and their recklessness. Not everyone likes telling people about their life issues hereby borrowing from them.
They have made Nigerians poorer.
Just watch and see.
