Since the formation of the ESN, now fulani attacks were repelled. Releasing criminals from prison and trying to weaken police and military security in the east is counter productive.

No its not because of ESN. They are not in anyway doing anything to prevent fulani attacks.

The reasons for less attacks in SE are

1) Umahi told them not to return to ebonyi after the attack.

2) benue has enough land for agriculture compared to the SE states. Look at the landmass of benue state and compare it with SE states that has more buildings.

3) benue is middle belt and closer to the North. To eradicate fulani attacks, the entire South will have to evict the herdsmen and fortify the borders. Else they will successfully launch attacks and move to another state.
