THE Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, yesterday accused peoples of the southern part of the country of provoking the north to set the country aflame.

At its National Executive Council, NEC, meeting in Kaduna, the group urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country, saying Nigeria will overcome her challenges.

National Chairman of ACF, Chief Audu Ogbeh spoke at the meeting,

“The meeting will look at issues confronting the nation and by extension, the region and proffer solutions. What can we do to end the menace of banditry? What can we do to end Boko Haram? What can we do to improve the economy and lives of Nigerians? What can we do to improve our relationships with other regions? These are some of the issues we will focus on. We want to leave a country for our children and grand children and the unborn so that they will be happy with us.”

On his part, ACF Secretary-General, Muktar Aliyu said the North is sick, noting that “We have Boko Haram, we have banditry, we have kidnapping, we have rustling, attacks on Northerners in the South where many lost their property and investments.

“Above all, the southerners are doing so to spark reactions from us so that the country will go up in flames but we are saying no. We are being confronted with agitations for separations and dissolution of the state, demands for Biafra, Oduduwa as well as restructuring.

”But we said there are ways of doing things in conformity with the laws of the land. So, this meeting will look at these things holistically and proffer solutions. Nobody is happy with the current situation.”

Meanwhile, in a communiqué at the end of the meeting, among others, said the “Forum is not happy with the scant attention paid to animal husbandry by state and federal governments in the country. Animal husbandry alone accounts for 6 per cent of our Gross Domestic Product, GDP, Nigeria spends $1.6 on importation of milk alone. If animal husbandry is well harnessed it will save Nigeria this large expenditure.

“Many Nigerians are not aware that those involved in the business of animal husbandry are themselves victims of insecurity. Their cattle are often rustled and they are kidnapped for ransom too. There is need to encourage alternative means of dispute resolution as those involved in farmers/herdsmen clashes are illiterates who sometimes are not comfortable with the police and the modern court system but would prefer traditional way of resolving issues.”

ACF lamented the high rates of interest charged on bank loans in the country, contending that “the interest charged by banks on commercial loans are so high that instead of promoting business, they are killing all indigenous business enterprises. No business can function in Nigeria or anywhere without a friendly environment of loaning from banks. We call on the government to intervene because the collapse of business has direct links with unemployment and insecurity.”

“We have Boko Haram, we have banditry, we have kidnapping, we have rustling, we have terrorism"
Yet all these problems didn't necessitate your reaction, but people in the South that are fighting off your herdsmen's terrorism against them is what will prompt your reaction right? See, these fools think they have sense.

Hopefully, soon, there won't be anything like southerner or northerner or easterner or westerner anymore.

We'll all be in our different countries.

Stop talking jargon and face reality. Only with division of your so-called nigeria shall you overcome your challenges. Some of you are still daft to come to terms with reality.

Before 2015, in pursuit of their regional interests, Northern political leaders led by Fulani deployed diplomatic tact and political trickery in dealing with the leaders and people of Southern Nigeria. They projected Northern Nigeria as a BIG BROTHER out to protect and enforce the unity of Nigeria, which evoked political reverence and deference from Southern leaders.

On assuming office in 2015, Buhari presidency jettisoned "tact and trickery" and exhibited uncompromising stance in pursuing Fulani interests as national interests. This hardliner attitude woke the political consciousness of the people of Southern Nigeria in an IRREVERSIBLE manner.

So the reality of today's Nigeria is that thanks to Buhari Presidency, Northern Nigeria has lost its fear factor as well as the political reverence and deference, which it hitherto enjoyed among and from the Southern Nigerians. The earlier Northern elites realized that the drumbeat and dance steps have changed, the better for them and Nigeria.

Therefore without enthronement of EQUITY, mischievous statements from Coalition of Northern Groups or Arewa Consultative Forum, Northern Consensus Movement, etc carry little pressure or persuasion.

Meanwhile, with due respect, elder Audu Ogbe is a clown for not even mentioning Fulani attacks on Benue citizens as part of the ACF meeting agenda.

I have to agreed with GEJ that one of the major challenges we're facing today emanate from our inability to manage our diversity well.

Our diversity can be our strength if properly manage, but if its poorly managed as it is today can arouse mistrust, suspicion, animosity and tension.

Just look at people we call leaders . How can an educated person tag herdsmen issue a conflict. It's a provocation and nothing else

A farmer in Enugu got his investment destroyed by cattles and they call it conflict. These cattle rearers are armed as against farmers, women and children killed on daily basis.

Restrict these marauders in a place and all these killing will end. They should ranch in the north where we have enough land .

Enough of all these killings. I blame the indigenous people and their political leaders that have refused to arm themselves. Untill we do that, these marauders won't stop the killing.

The time to act is now. We have to take the fight to their camps and chased them out of our forest. If we don't do these, then we should be ready for the hunger and famine that comes with our farmer's refusal to farm bc of the killings.

Diversity can be managed and harnessed where and when everyone has a COMMON overall interests, and guiding philosophy.
When there is a symbiotic relationship between all parties.

In Nigeria, there are hardly any overarching COMMON interests.

We have parasites and their hosts. We have conquerors and their quarries, and booties of conquests.

We have a house built on very weak foundations, weak pillars and leaking roof, but we want to keep patching the roof, and praying that the house would defy the laws of physics and keep standing.

The only Truth is that this house has already fallen.

One day, this country will divide. It might not happen in my generation or my children’s but it will happen. You don’t need to be a prophet to see it.
Terrorism will continue to plague Nigeria as long as we have islamists.

Compare top 10 peaceful countries in the world with the opposite. You will see where the dominance of a particular worship is sadly synonymous with high death rate.

Why do these people love playing the victim card all the time! You are ones killings farmers in their native lands and farm lands. You are alright the ones also milking South south resources mercilessly and using it to beautify the North. You are the ones occupying all sensitive positions in this country. The Military is in your pocket, The police is in your pocket. BokoHaram started from the North, Banditry from the North!

I weep for the type of elders and political leaders we have in south south! We will never allow open grazing. Instead we will burn this country to the ground let every bear him papa name. This is just too much for us to take! angry
