Misleading statement from ACF as usual. The North has already sparked crises, rather unwisely, across religious, social and political fronts. BH has seemingly come to stay, religiously charged rhetoric is finding its way back into national discourse and the herdsmen/farmer clashes have graduated from conflict between independent parties to one of tacit govt support for the herders, at the cost of Nigerian food security.

Sadly, the cattle herders are caught in a time warp. The descendants of the owners of those lands they crisscrossed are now actively using their landed resources for different pursuits as farming, population density and increasing economic hardship becomes the reality in the country. Unfortunately ACF and other northern elite are not quick to say the truth, which would probably do more good for the herders than the bad it is already doing for their reputation....

The part about milk is a bit circular. Those cows produce little to no milk. On average they produce less than a litre a day, whereas similar production in several peer countries is upwards of 50 even above 100 litres a day. That is why we import milk. We need the intro of new breeds and proper agro management for our production to register meaningful volumes. Ranching with all its advantages and emphases ( dieting, vet health etc) is what they should be talking about.

That being said, the north has the majority of arable land.... So siding with herders (of a particular ethnic stock) over the majority of their other population makes no sense. ACF should be championing increased inputs and market access for all serious agribusiness ventures.. Not this BS fake alarm.

Point of correction. I didn't support the North against my own people. No, I supported APC and Buhari's candidacy against PDP, which was becoming an albatross on Nigeria. My agitation against the status quo and unnecessary shenanigans by the North is because it will NEVER lead to prosperous Nigeria. Restructuring will help.
