porthouse7:All those people you mentioned don't have anything meaningful contributing to SouthEast region. Will SE economy grow with Agbo, Herbal drug or aboki suya and shoemaker. Ijaws are mostly militants so they won't find SE attractive for their kinda job. Igboland is meant for serious minded people with die hard enterprising spirit. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

stanluiz: My post never said Igboland has zero industries or businesses. But the fact still and will always remain: The best environment an Igbo man can ever make money is away from the South East region. Remove the factors chasing them away from investing in the South East and what makes the North and West attractive places for them, and the businesses will come rushing in. Igbo investments in Computer Village and Alaba International Market alone is more than the ALL the investments in the East. Statistics won't tell you this, because you cannot seperate Igbos investments in Lagos from the rest of the state, but we wey dey here know the truth. If you know how many billions are made monthly in Computer Village alone by Igbo men, cold will catch you |

Princedapace:That's afonja for you bro. They would rather sit tightly in their Obomosho, Oshogbo, Ibadan and Ibarakpa dilapidated old enclave inherited from their ancestors and be telling you how SE looks like and how deserted Igboland is. Their matter just tire me. Even Hausa-Fulani tribe has reasonable number of people living and doing business (mostly farm produce, bureau de change and livestock) than Yoruba. Few Yorubas in the East are into Herbal and Agbo mixtures. Those schooling in all SE Federal Universities are not up to 20. |

Smartini:Oga shut up. If you are Igbo, you would have known by now that the 56 markets in Onitsha metropolis alone have no space to contain traders there again. Most Igbo businesses in Lagos have their main or branch office in Onitsha. Igbo think home philosophy has really turned the fortunes of Igboland around and equally improved SouthEast economy. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Jonathan39: Lekwa Amusu calling me product of quota system. Why did you make a post begging to come to Lagos? I'm an indigene of Imo State (Irete to be precise) born and raised in Lagos State, and I've never tasted poverty There's nothing premium or quality about lands in the East. Based on geography and soil type, the Eastern region actually has the worst lands in Nigeria. But that's by the way... If I can get a very good land in the West or North at a reasonable price, and that same land costs 5x more in the East because long-throat thieves claiming sharp guy wants to make quick bucks and sell me erosion-devoured land, I know the option I'll choose, thanks. Keep your expensive mud land in the East, and we'll keep making sweet money in the West and North. I'm 100% Igbo and I only visit home once in a while so you people won't do ogwu ego for me

EmekaA125: It is well. I think the media needs to do more to show the good sides of the east. The war did a lot damage on our region. Many people who haven't traveled don't know much about the east. And nollywood, our own brothers o, made matter worse when they only showcase village side of the east and how our people need to travel to Lagos before they can make it and how they act like villagers when they get to Lagos. So, all these have done tremendous damages to the image of the east. We need collective and vibrant minds to push a total rebranding of the east. Many igbos have turned to millionaires right there in the east. These sides are not portrayed by the media. And that is why many South west people have wrong mentality of the east. I don't blame them though. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

EmekaA125: That Brown roof republic is the 2nd best city for tech startups, the fastest developing city after Lagos and an intellectual powerhouse. How many cities in the East are connected to a world class rail system ? |
Re: Igbo Businessmen Urged To Invest At Home To Boost South-east Economy by Nobody: 9:59pm On Jun 25, 2021 |
EmekaA125: So all the markets in Onitsha can't contain traders there anymore, that is why they have to travel hundreds of kilometres to the SMALLEST state by land mass to come and do business? From Onitsha, you travelled past Asaba, Benin, Ore, Shagamu, Lagos-Ibadan expressway through millions of acres of barren land and came all the way to Lagos State, the SMALLEST state in Nigeria to find SPACE for your business? You're my namesake but I'm terribly disappointed in your lack of wisdom. Onitsha Market could have spread as far beyond Obosi and as far as Oba if you were looking for expansion, but Emeka and his people came all the way from Onitsha to Lagos because no space in Onitsha Market again |

Antivirus92: Don't quote my statement out of context, I mean the acumen to make the Lagos state attractive to businesses. All other south western states you mention are also developing in their own pace. Oyo and Ogun are gradually becoming industrial bases and largest business destinations in the country. Even Ekiti which is least developed is still better than some states in the south east and the north for business. |
