I have a feeling this friendly will go well. The guys have been training for the past 2 weeks and they rise up as early as 7AM each day. Win or lose, expect a competitive affair between the two teams.

Santos at least selected Portugal current best and most informed players go the tournament, unlike rohr that would select a clueless and inefficient musa and Ezenwa who is one of the worst GK in the NPL
I disagree, at the last afcon which player was dropped?

I disagree

Rohr as a coach will not bench carpenters like william carvalho and danilo perriera
I take it back, Rohr is actually better. 3 tournaments and he only managed to beat 3 teams within 90 minutes of football, Wales Morroco and Hungary

Vermaelen still playing top international football at 35 is amazing ,despite all the injuries he has suffered .

Pepe still playing international football at 38 and some of you epl fan boys said he won’t start for big epl teams

Jagielka is also 38 also if na by age. EPL is not for 38 y/o players. Ivanovic won't even feature because the intensity is high. Them go commit you or Jones you. Andrew I never expect so much from u btw.

Very valid excuse, if you've interacted with people who don't speak English as a first language you'll know it is a very valid excuse
If I'm going to interact with people who don't speak English, I'll be careful with what I say. Also, Rohr has always been known to utter demoralizing words so it was so easy to twist his words.

Jagielka was not playing regular for Sheffield for too small club before he was released

How is Thiago Silva still featuring for Chelsea ?

Portugal coach killed the match with his substitution when he removed Jota and left Ronaldo, someone whose contribution was zero. Or maybe he was hoping a penalty would be given to Portugal
Jota was rightly substituted.
Someone who missed two clear chances he would have scored. One of which was assisted by Ronaldo.
Ronaldo did better than jota in that match except if you are using sentiments to judge.
Note: I'm not a fan of Ronaldo

I kinda agree, He hasn't conceded any goal in 6 ACL games

So akpeyi should be brought back because he hasnt conceded goals in the low life league he plays
Is it that you have no idea of what akpeyi has to offer when he plays for the national team or you're just expecting him to do magic

Some of us with our judgement think we would do worse than rohr

What is wrong in bringing akpeyi back as an option from the bench

We didn’t said he should start for the eagles

You guys should cut him some slack

Maduka uzoho akpeyi

Akpeyi cannot even play more than 2 more years for us So there are a lot of time for the young goalies

No be veteran sirigu Dey Italy bench Dey watch donaarumma?

Maduka is first choice and I didn’t remember anyone saying akpeyi should bench him

Akpeyi good form can best get him a place at the bench as the 3rd gk to the afcon maybe

Honestly as much as I don't like Rohr's tactics I still find it very difficult to criticize him.

I just read the news on Sunday Oliseh saying he can come back as coach if the NFF wants him and then I flashed back on all the ugly scenario that happened back then that led to him quitting the team and jeopardizing our qualification.

Many of us criticized him back then, but he did however make some valid points. Himself and the players being owed for months, him having to keep urging the players that they shouldn't worry the bonuses will be sorted and just focus on the games ahead and him having to pay for many services with his own money just to keep things in shape.

The Nigerian football working environment is very unpalatable. It is painful that we read that Rohr is going through the same thing too. Sometimes he complains, sometimes he keeps quiet. Why would you not pay your coach and players for months.

Honestly I find it difficult to blame Rohr for not being ambitious. He has been level headed despite the maltreatment. A coach like Oliseh would have by now let hell loose.

Akpeyi should just forget the super eagles for now. We have young goalkeepers in the team hence the need for us to allow them develop. We should be going forward and not going back.

Others European have old goalies on their bench so that means they are going backward ? Just imagine una reasoning

Nobody said akpeyi should be in the eagles post ,but calling him as a 3rd Gk is good enough

Maduka and uzoho are first and second choice already

God forbid Oliseh comes back
He should go learn how to manage teams, players and team management..infact he need improv on his man management skills. His sojourn with the super eagles was a nightmare and likewise in Netherlands he has refused take up jobs in Turkey and others simply claiming he does not wanna stay far away from home-Belgium which goes to show that he is not ready to be a foot ball manager

For Rohr... he has a defeated mindset many a time he always talk down his team strengths. You dont create excuses for failure even prior you play a match

Will remind when he starts talking again as we head to the afcon

Bro...make Akpeyi concentrate on club football...he is not needed in the current set up. The person who started this Akpeyi recall argument is just been sentimental. A goal keeper who when he is between the sticks for the Eagles is a calamity waiting to happen.

He actually raised hell. Aside from the fact that he was found wanting tactically, he's too much trouble. He was actually considered for the technical role that was given to Eguavoen but he's too troublesome that's why the NFF didn't give it to him
