The pitch is the only difference here. The last time I checked none of the wing forward in this tournament is better than Mane/Salah/Mahrez, none of the right-backs is better than Hakimi. The defenders have been atrocious, anyone better than Koulibaly? We Africans with inferiority complex. If you argue about the quality of the pitch no problem but the quality of football is at par with top African teams.

Is it by better than mane salah mahrez? you dont need to be better than mane before you perform

What can these names do on big stages ?

Same salah could not help egypt to win ordinary below bang average ekuke saudi arabia

Did morocco with their stars win iran ?

Did Senegal not beat Poland? Did Portugal the European champion beat Iran too? How many did Spain beat Iran? Did Nigeria not beat Iceland? Did both Nigeria and Senegal not draw Brazil? Ukraine could only manage to draw our second team? The world cup is next year no cause for alarm, we shall see then!

Part of our problem is we allow Europeans to dictate what a good player is for us.
We Africans need to play our Unique African style and express ourselves. We did it under Westerhoof
Nwakali bossed atletico Madrid midfield but we think he is not good. I'm sure nwakali will boss Pogba in midfield and shock everybody.

grin

Brendan Rodgers bench Iheanacho, Rohr drops Iheanacho from the team. Wolfsburg bench Osimhen, Rohr drops Osimhen, Pepe Mel drops Uzoho, Roh drops Uzoho.

Europeans say Alampasu is not good, no chance for Alampasu, they discard Nwakali, he never gets a look in.

Today's performance by the Swiss is the result of hours upon hours of tactical analysis and meticulous planning. How does Rohr and his team prepare for matches? Do they perform hours of video analysis? Is there a team that sits down and brainstorms tactical approaches?

Or is just kick ball and inshallah?

African team still have the same problem at world level , we can't defend set piece especially a corner kick and we lose concentration in dying minutes , European teams tend to do better in that area

I talk this thing taya prior to 2018 world cup and afcon as well. But we still seem so disorganized in that aspect. These aspects are easy gamechangers despite the gulf in class between any two teams. But its still looking unattended to today.

Set pieces!!!

There are moments at previous WC that African teams were the better of the two teams on the pitch. Then they conceed a setpiece and we begin to hear the usual mediocrity Sermons.

But this time, i want to hope Africa will rep just well in Qatar. Especially West Africa.

Argentina doing the lords work in far away South America.

And for those talking about Argentina not beating most of these mid table Europe teams because of what they have shown in this euro, I think you all should watch this current Argentina, they are far better than Argentina we used to know. Nowadays they hardly even concede, they are currently on a 14 match unbeaten run and the addiction of Papu Gomez to the team has added more creativity to the team and has also lessen Messi job.
Bookmark this, this Argentina team can and will beat Brazil at the final.

Nah, I think they are better now defensively because they now play as a team and not as individuals anymore.

Africa had just five teams while Europe had more than twice as much. Africa no be am in what way? Nigeria don beat Spain before even when they were favourite, same with Senegal beating France, Cameroon beating Argentina, Ghana etc. So which is Africa no be am. What has Switzerland, Austria, Hungary achieved in football? But cos they are Europeans you people will start praising them to the gallery. Football no be mathematics. This Switzerland team can never beat us. Take that to the bank!

None... Imagine Senegal with all their squad drawing with Japan

Nigeria too in 2014 playing Goalless with Iran

Morocco nko, those ones lost to Iraq abi na who again self

Very useless continent

Even common football,they can't play

After how many years
The major problem is the lack of coordination and cohesion that comes from African teams. I have been watching the SE for sometime and our problem is not Rohr tactics. Rather we haven't bonded as a team. We train only a week to matches played about twice or three times a year.

If you observe our team closely, you'll see that we hardly drop quick passes. Individual brilliance has always been our best bet against big teams. If we train enough to pass the ball seamlessly, We go even play quarter final for this EURO.

Ditch the European, African useless argument.

Europeans play the best football you'll ever find. If we must improve, we must learn team play like them as well.

Saw him playing in Aigbogun's U-20 horror team of shame. Nothing extraordinary about the lad. He was a bit above his teammates' level, but then, that was a scandalously piss poor team. Bang average player. Unless he has done some improvement.

You're talking as if Europeans were given 16 reps on a platter
They deserve it with their chuk in above average performance. Africans dont even deserve that much reps self because we have not justify it in recent past let an Africa team win the world cup then we can now talk of more reps for africa

We barely even make it to second round whereas the Europeans do troop in the last 16 in numbers same with asians sometimes

You need see the sequence this Europeans play it looks as if i am playing or watching someone play the PES game most of the passes are so on point and it aids progression the opponent half unlike us the players will be passing backwards

The best we have played in a while was the friendly match we had with Brazil and ukraine wish we can keep up with that momentum

True. Our squad needs to become stable and play more games. Nobody who hasn't played before should even be invited again, except Lookman. I saw some improvements against Cameroon though, except that Marcus was killing that midfield.

I agree.... i am sure dude won't get invitee again when the full squad returns

Rohr needs to have a philosophy and game plan..pick only players that fits this philosophy to play sweet and result oriented football

That Ukraine equalizer still dey pain me. It was similar to the lack of concentration we had vs Argentina that made Rojo send Argies through to the next round. The Midfield and Attack gave good account of themselves though. Especially in that Brazil game.

Having a lead is no longer the problem i believe. Its protecting that lead with the spirit the Camerounians showed years back that we'll need. And that's where we need the camera to catch the Captain gingering his teammates to see the lead through.
