you see why i said you are myopic in your reasoning. Why won't they move to Lag or PH? do we have the kind of federal structures they have there? Imo Airport was built with donations from Easterners if it is people who are not tolerant to themselves that feat would not have been achieved. You just sit down and listen to propaganda, go to Onitsha you would see Northerners living in harmony with Igbos from your response you are not widely travelled that is why you can write this kind of rubbish.

Seniorman, you seem like a reasonable man and that's why I am engaging you. I am not talking about Northerners coming to do business. Every Igbo man who is in my village right now (in the Northwest) owns the house he's in and owns land here. In my capital city, they do not only do business, they belong here. Can you say that about Northerners in your region? (mind you 'Northerners' is even an ambigous word; there's no people like that). In your land, others only do busines

To be fair about this, I have never really gone beyond Kwara-Benue-Taraba. But I know propaganda when I see one. My point is that you people are blaming everyone else for your people's problems instead of looking inward. If you lack infrastructure, hold your leaders accountable, not Northerners. If you couldn't produce an elected president, hold your people's lacklustre attitude to politics and your separatist attitude responsible. And don't forget, your fathers plunged Nigeria into a civil war. If you ask me, I will tell you that Igbos are smart enough to take advantage of a one Nigeria to build a Southeast that will be the envy of all Africa. Nnewi is already the town with the highest number of millionaires in the entire Western Africa region. But IPOB will rather clamor for an exclusively Igbo separatist nation. I have no issues with that. But stop saying everyone hate you when you are the ones pushing everybody away.

Actually the Tigray helped Eritrea during the war of independence.
How could that be? they were in charge of Ethiopia back then.

Some world powers are after Ethiopia’s large reserve of gold .
Gold has been exploited since ancient times. Large ore based gold mines are the Lega Dembi (the largest mine in the Sidamo province of southern Ethiopia) and Sakaro, which have been mined by private companies; the amount of gold produced by these mines is reported to be about 5 tons per year.

you draw your views about Ndi Igbo from what you hear which is just propaganda. You just uttered another statement now which is totally wrong “Our fathers plunged Nigeria into a civil war” Ndi Igbo have never taken arms against any tribe if not in self defense. The Nigerian military fired the first shot that started the civil war not igbos. Try to visit the east you will understand why the other moniker said you have never been to the east.

Thanks for the ad. One thing I know (and which every honest Nigerian will admit) is that the Southeast have just what it takes to be the most industrialised region in West Africa considering the Igbos' natural penchant for been industrious. But the Igbos should also admit to themselves that no country on earth will want to make too much heavy investments in a separatist region. And that thing is drawing us back; because we are all losing.

Nah. Eritrea once supported the Tigray/TPLF against the Derg regime (Ethiopia). They later fell out.

African wars are complex. Today have brothers joining hands to fight a common enemy. Tomorrow those brothers will join forces with cousins and backstab each other. The wars continue.

I know this because I was schooled by locals when I lived in Eritrea from 2000-2003.

That was in the tick of the war.
You should have a wealth of experience of that region - Eritrea, Ethiopia/Tigray ?

That's the most important point. Having ruled for so long and fortified themselves with the resulting benefits of controlling state power, they accumulated enough resources that empowered them for this sort of war.

That's the critical difference between them and the Igbos here for instance. If anything, it's the Fulanis that are in a comparable position.
.
May God save us from the Fulanis. Look like we have a long journey ahead.

When will Africa move past armed struggle and go the diplomatic route to settle issues. Must it be about guns and wars. It's as if we haven't learned from the devastating effects of war.

If some region want to go abeg let him go, instead of using enormous force of which you end up losing the region eventually.

TRUE but the prevailing value systems such as Fulani dont understand anything but force, and are backed by their forceful colonial masters who continue to exploit African resources.....

The only hope is if you are convinced there is a legitimate movement or group trying to do right you support them, even if they are not your tribe or country or religion.......

The igbos truly wish for a United Nigeria and this is physically expressed by their business adventures and investments all over the country but if you travel down history lane you will discover that the igbos have always been the fall group for most national dispute. Even as I kid I remember my father running a pharmacy in the north and each time crisis broke out we pray vehemently for his safety. Meanwhile I grew up all my life watching how the igbos harbor northerners, they do not fear for their lives because they don’t have to, their kids were equal to us we fought each other in schools based on personal reasons not tribal and parents do not make a tribal case out of it then you can have Okeke supporting Muhammad while Abubakar is supporting Emeka. We had a spacious front in the building we lived growing up and Abokis as we called them used that front as a market place for more than a decade! They slept under stalls, under stair cases but nobody harassed them and nobody hurt any of them. The igbos would expect such from other ethnic groups but truth be told we always fall victims of unnecessary hate. There were no reprisals in the east when igbos were killed in the north until one time, the clouds changed the energy in the air changed I came outside first thing I saw is a northerner running while a man with machete was pursuing him and was giving him deep cuts on the head. A very ugly sight I ran back inside and that day I knew that blood spilling has power because there was this very negative aura in the air I wasn’t home with my parents I was in another part of the town. I couldn’t wait to get home to ask my mother about our aboki friends, the ones we grew up knowing and always giving them Xmas rice and chicken, the young one that always gave my mom gifts when he comes back from the north and buys us snacks. My Hausa friends that we schooled together, the Muslim yorubas that lived in our street and had a mosque! I always thought they were Hausas because to us all Muslims are Hausa but my mom made me know they are Yoruba people. Well I did get home and I asked, I was told that people hid them in their houses like took them up to their flats and hid them and when the assailants invaded the Yoruba mosque thinking they were Hausas their Igbo neighbors came out en mass shouting that those are Yoruba people and they should leave them alone. The leader of that Yoruba mosque was often stubborn and arrogant but his Igbo neighbors stood up for them, that is the action of people who are willing to cohabit with others now if same people turn to say they want out then something is wrong somewhere. Do you know how that massacre started ? Bodies of igbos that were slain in the north arrived in onitsha! Reprisals spread like wildfire all over the east of course the northerners in the east weren’t prepared because there have not been reprisals before. So it gets tiring when you continue to be treated unfairly, when IPOB started unarmed protest diplomacy should have been used not extra judicial killing of unarmed protesters nobody likes seeing the blood of their people being spilled. Many igbos have had to shut down their businesses in the north my dad did, there are separatists because of unfair treatments which most Nigerians refuse to admit. Reinhard went to north, Igbos were killed, cartoon in far away country Igbos were killed, failed coup thousands of igbos were killed which eventually led to civil war. You can’t hate someone so much and still want to be in same country with them how does that work ? Look at Nigeria today very backward and either we agree to live peacefully and build a great country or every man go him papa house. I love the idea of a United Nigeria but we have had 60 plus years to try that out but look at where we are!
Re: Tigray: Ethiopian Army Retreats As Rebels Enter The Capital by Casham: 11:42am On Jun 30, 2021
@Mftivi, I don't wanna quote you here because this is bigger than just you and I. If Igbos call for seccession simply because they want their own right for self determination, that's a worthy cause to support. But IPOB is basing their call for seccession on 'hate' which is false. If the North hates you as you claimed, you won't be controlling the markets here. Yes! There are crisis in the North, but No ethnic group was ever a target. It was always a religious issue and you know it. There are so many Igbos here in my state that we the Christian minorities always run to their houses for protection whenever there is a crisis. My own people are the victim here, not Igbos. Of course, the muslim jihadists will kill any Christian they find without thought for their ethnicity. Stop turning the general religious insecurity in the North into an Igbo thing. It is ok to ask for the right for self-determination, but if you pick up arms to fight the g'ment on a false claim of "hate", we will fault your claim as propaganda.

I agree with most of what you have said especially the last part, I have never been to the north too so you probably are right. Also I want to state that I do not support insurrection and arson in any way but what see in this country is cause and effects. Would there be an ESN or Amotekun if the cattle herder bandits were dealt with by state security ? We focus on “effects”instead if “cause”.

I swear to God, Isupport Amotekun and Ebubeagu. But ESN? No! There are channels to go about things. You and I know that ESN is an illegal group. Even vigilante groups will register with the government. The president already said any person seen with a rifle should be shot on sight. That "anybody" does not mean Fulanis only. We have general insecurity in Nigeria; lets talk to our politicians to do the needful, not form an illegal gun-wielding group. Now see what ESN is doing; soiling the Biafran agitation with their unreasonable killings of Police and other security ops.
Re: Tigray: Ethiopian Army Retreats As Rebels Enter The Capital by Casham: 2:11pm On Jun 30, 2021
The Biafran agitation in Nigeria has reached a stage where no sensible person will brush it away. It is time you people call for a referendum just like the Scots are doing. But only Biafrans can do that for themselves. You can do that by voting only those who will fight for Biafra into offices. Let them bring their proposal to the national assembly. Give your reasons why you must seccede. They may be arrested, but the world will know that you followed the right channels. Everyone will then listen to you. Read how our parents fought for the independence of Nigeria. Your democratically elected leaders should be your voice. No government can impose leaders on you, so you should use your own elected leaders as your voice. But if your elected (consensus) leaders are for one Nigeria, while some leader of an illegal group is saying 'seccession', who do you think any government will listen to as your voice. It is why I stressed that the Igbo man's problem is not some Hausa, Fulani or Yoruba man.

Honestly, the Fulani onslaught we are facing has been a national security threat. And I hate how the consistent killings of law enforcement agencies in the Southeast was made to overshadow the Fulani menace. I know a drowning man will grab unto any straw just to survive. But state politics will always be state politics. Every security outfit is supposed to be accountable to the government of the state. ESN is not accountable to any authority. That's their major undoing. The people may hail them as heroes, but they'll still be illegal under the law. My own people could not go to our farms because of the fear of Fulani. Now we are dealing with them quietly. No need to shout or attack the police or the government.
