Even as far as the North West province there are Nigerians, in rural areas like Limpopo there are Nigerians, the fight is not just against Nigerians ,it's against all foreign nationals including Zimbabweans, Mozambicans etc. Soweto is an influential area and once it's starts there it spreads to other areas.
I don't wish anybody bad and I wish everybody his/her heart desires but "I stand to be corrected that SA is always pregnant of xenophobic attacks and sooner or later there will always be one ,it just needs a trigger." However those in the cooperate sector like academia, health will not be at the forefront of the attack but it's the hustlers with shops etc that will be killed and they easily know the migrants through their local languages. Every SAn speaks the local languages unlike in Nigeria where an Igbo man knows only English.
If you are planning to study in SA ,think twice because the discrimination in taxis, lack of job opportunities after schooling, you can't see a good job while schooling. It pains me to see Nigerians going through discrimination in another African country. I don't want to expose my status here but I'm very aware of the activities in the embassy in SA. So I know the issues that comes up in the embassy mostly about study visas, revoking of work permits especially, the picture is clear that they don't want more Nigerians in their country. It's a shame that SA that is even visa free to Ghanaians is doing this even Dubai that home for all recently suspended direct visa employment for Nigerians. The migration stress should be put in better low-key countries like the Scandinavian countries.
If you going are studying there ,it's just good to study and leave. Me sef like the place in the sense that it's a beautiful Africa.

I have spoken too much but I think some will get my point. May God direct our paths well finally whether SA, Abroad or Nigeria. Amen

You got your news from nigeriabroad.com

Bro, I hope you do watch the news to know what’s currently happening in SA . Let me inform you that Nigerians don’t reside in Soweto . Soweto is a township of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality in Gauteng, South Africa.

Lastly you are asking people to think twice, abeg bro pray for those who needs the visa, not to discourage them with this news.

You didn’t answer the question asked ,

Are you an SA resident or visitor?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by madejibo: 9:25am On Jul 02, 2021
I wonder why people are trying to discourage others from getting visas into SA with Xenophobic attacks. The South Africans frown at immigrants coming into the country without contributing meaningfully to their country. I wonder how many doctors, engineers or lecturers are being affected by Xenophobia. Why would you want to relocate to somewhere like SA, country battling with unemployment and go and "hustle". You must have a good reason to live in SA. You should understand the nomenclature of SA before going to SA to reside. Asides being a professional, there is no point going to SA to reside, or you are a major investor. You as a foreigner have no business living in some townships or suburbs. A lot of Nigerians perpetuate so much evil in South Africa lik drugs, human trafficking etc. 90% of prostitutes on long street at nights are Nigerians, Nigerians shouldn't do that. I have been approached to rent a property so that young girls in the townships can live there and prostitute. The average educated South African respect the Nigerian who is responsible and have s professional job/career in SA. If you must relocate, try and be in the STEM field i.e Science, Technology, Engineering or Medicine. That is what the economy needs. Don't go there to marry their people and you don't have viable profession. If you must marry, marry out of genuine reasons and don't use your partner for immigration purposes.

When asking for immigration advise, it's wise to ask people who are on ground and not those who depend on newspaper reports and be forming connections or not wanting to expose their status here.

You can't know more than people who live in SA.

Hi guys,

My wife is applying to come and join me in Pretoria, South Africa. I'm a final year master student in TUT. We got married early this year and I was told we need to take our marriage certificate for endorsement in Abuja by ministry of interior, before we apply.
Please I just need someone who has done this before to share how he did it.

Thank you

am shocked with this " endorsement" stuff. Two of my friends applied without endorsement. Is this a new policy ?

Yes, cos it's a relative visa(long term). If it were tourist visa, it may not be necessary. And it's not a new regulation, it's been there for long term visas since 2019 or so.

Fortunately there are people you can contact in Abuja to help you with it and they will have it delivered to you. It was a little bit expensive when I did it but a lot better than travelling to Abuja for it.

Depends on d airline. SA flights are restricted from Nigeria now due to the crazy covid spikes but i still had someone who travelled from joburg and landed in lagos yesterday through kenya airways. Airpeace has even suspended direct flights to SA.

The cases are spiking in SA so travel may be more stricter in d coming weeks.

My advice is to hold off on booking flights now if its not urgent. If you must, then book your flight directly with the airline and NOT with any 3rd party sites. This is because if you have to change your flight or cancel it for any reason, it will be cheaper / easier for you to deal with the airline directly yourself.

Fyi. Travel sites always mark up prices so i often wonder why pple use them for simple journeys. Check kenya or ethiopa airlines website for flights.

I did mine at a cafe beside the vfs
Some guys do it
(They take it to the endorsement office and get it done some hours later or the following day)
Then, return your documents to you
I did for marriage certificate and my child's birth certificate both at #12k
Expensive!
But it cut off the stress of going to Abuja and also having to postpone submission of visa application same day

Are you sure you're Nigerian? shocked . I've never read a submission like this on this forum ,it's always ; " they don't want us because they're jealous and lazy" cheesy grin. I wonder why we never hear from Nigerians like yourself.

The funny part about this Blurpy dude is that he has a thread on this very platform, a thread that only glorifies* the same South Africa without touching on any negatives grin. You would swear South Africa was some Eldorado from the way he went on grin, its funny how he suddenly realises how xenophobic we are grin. Could it be that he met the requirements for a visitor's visa ,but couldnt meet the criteria for permanent residency? cry.

Lol, but honestly though, does it make sense that someone applied for a visitor's visa to a country that's xenophobic ,gets the visa ,visits this country and has the time of his life ( judging from his own thread ) grin. Then he leaves the place ,and when he gets home he starts telling others how xenophobic and horrible that country is ? grin. Very confusing....or should I say .....very confused individual grin. So he never read all these articles before coming here ? It is when he returns to Nigeria that he starts being concerned for his life and that of other Nigerians in South Africa? grin. Why do i smell dissapointment here Blurpy ?..... cry wink.

South Africa is good, infrastructure, beautiful and all that.
But leaving Nigeria for SA to go and 'hustle' is not worth it due to high unemployment rate. You would be competing with other frustrated black south Africans who are ready to drink your blood at the slightest protest. So, if you are not going to catch crUise and come back or you're not on the critical skills list. You're On Your Own! I would remember everyone on this thread when it happens. A word is enough for the wise.

So when you applied to visit South Africa, you didn't know all that you mentioned above ? cheesy. Or were you willing to risk it all ? grin. Weren't you afraid that you'd get caught up in all that mass ? And how did you manage to survive it all ?

And you're right ,South Africa doesn't need any "hustlers ".

Were you escorted by armed forces during your tour grin ,I ask this because I can't imagine a Nigerian who fears black South Africans this much walking around them without protection ? grin. grin.
