Hi Everyone
The Enrollment letter is very important because it shows your date of start classes.. I was suppose to travel in May for September fall I called BA and they told me specifically that I won’t be able to travel without my EL and if I just travel
I would have to leave a month to when classes will start which will be clearly stated on your EL. This instruction isn’t from the Nigeria immigration it is from the Canadian immigration that’s why when you get to the airport they take pictures of your document and send it for final confirmation if to allow you board or not.

Do you think there should be a way i can convince the VO if i should go for your first two options which is public policy or peace and conflict? Thanks

As regards the bolded, it all depends on you and the cogent reasons why you want to go for it, & also why another Masters instead of a PHD.

International relations is related to Public Policy, Peace & Conflict.

Do Get the Admission first, the outcome of how you were able to convince a Professor of Public Policy or Peace & Conflict in a Canadian University that you are going to be a good fit in his/her group and why you want to go for it would enable you to know how to convince a VO on your SOP.

Reasons why should take your time & go through all the contents in the initial link I posted & relate it to your own field of discipline/Research Areas, it's an eye opener

Await other response from the gurus, and Graduate (MS/PHD) students in Canada on this forum. You need a based on experience response to your enquires since you intend going for another Masters

Well understood sir. I wait then...thanks very much.

Good Morning & Happy Sunday, NLers.

I pray this new week, we will receive positive answers to our desires.

If you are yet to submit your application, Please ensure you proofread your Letter of explanation or statement of purpose as the case may be. I have seen refusal based on the premise that the applicant dictions were very poor and distorted (Although, not the only reason).

Nobody too sabi English.

Quick Tip

Get Grammarly installed on your Microsoft document application or Use Grammarly web.

Grammarly: Free Online Writing Assistant - https://www.grammarly.com

This can't be overemphasized

GRAMMARLY is bae for proofreading "SOP for Visa Application, Cold Mails to enquire about graduate opportunities in professor research group, SOP for Graduate School Application, Research Proposals, Cover Letters" wink

GRAMMALY would save you from unnecessary English Gunshots grin, wrong Punctuations & lots more

Any fall intake applicants awaiting medical request instead of doing upfront medicals, might as well defer admission since you're in no rush.

Scam alert.

Guys are very careful about this Agent thingy.

I guess the post was reported and has been taking down or the poster deleted it.

Remember someone came here this morning and said he has 10 sure visas to British Columbia. I went into his DM and the attached happened.

Please be careful. These guys are taking advantage of the fact people are desperate.

One thing I hate is cheating. I will go at every length to ensure this stops.

Long conversation but could post only this

Hello guys,

Does anyone know any other means of making payment internationally from Nigeria asides opening a dom account or using barter ?

There is a $100 monthly limit on mastercard and I am looking for other means with reasonable exchange rate.

Any suggestions?

Hi there,
There’s no given guideline to this.
I believe you can book and go for the medicals now, and use it whenever you are ready to apply (so far it’s within 12 months)

For perspective, I had my medicals in December 2020, and I didn’t apply till April 2021.
My medical status got updated to passed in less than 2 working days.

buchito1:
Good morning bro.

Yes! I know right. Was just thinking about booking for medicals now. Since it's only August that's available at the moment.

So I wouldn't need to wait another month. Since getting admission from a school shouldn't take more than 2 weeks tops.

Want to hasten things.

Have him send your living expenses to your account. It will be more convincing if you open a domiciliary account and show the fund in USD currency.
do you mean I should open a domiciliary account with Nigerian bank and the living expenses will be there and then upload the statement?

You can use flutter wave. That was what I used and it was successful. Download bater by flutter wave, fund the account by transferring from your Bank to it through an account number that will be provided, create a dollar card and fund it, then use the info on the dollar card for your transaction above $100. It worked for me perfectly.

You need to show more than just a letter from him since you said he does not bear the same surname with you.. You need to explain your relationship with him more like a family tree and also if you have a picture of you and him together or if he has sponsored any of your studies in the past, you can show proofs of all of these.. My point is, you need more than just a letter from him since he isn't your Father, mother or an elder one that has same surname with you... Peace
Kunfu:
Hello gurus in the house, I need urgent advice, I've already submitted my application since May whereby I used my maternal uncle as my sponsor tho we're not bearing the same surname and we only back it up with a letter from him that he'll support me and a court affidavit being my uncle and ready to sponsor me through my studies, I submitted all NSE requirements his MBS and Ielts and he's international passport.
Please is there any thing I need to do maybe through webform in order to back it up before the final decision will be made. Please I need urgent response. THANKS

To the bolded, Its very very possible, applicants still get rejected even after upfront medicals passed.. Upfront Medicals being passed doesn't in any way guarantee PPR.. I know of a case in 2019 where an applicant's Upfront medical was passed for almost 7 months and was still refused.. So it does not in anyway guarantee PPR.. Peace
JORDAN55:
Hello guys
Please who here applied in march and has gotten a response from IRCC, either PPR or Rejection?

I also want to know if there has been a case where IRCC updated upfront medicals to passed and still rejected the applicant?

I applied for my cousin in march and i’ve not received a response, I even ordered gcms and nothing there.

Pleasee help !!

I will appreciate responses!

Ok the problem is that this information is not from any ircc website ,it's from North Eastern university website, arrival guidelines should be gotten from them not from a third party , that's where the problem is, according to ircc travel website passengers can only be denied boarding mainly due to covid19 related reasons, on matters on eligibility, it can only decided by a border officers upon arrival, I understand people have been stopped from boarding but ircc can't put a policy online and enforce a different one offline , thanks for the information though, we would keep monitoring the situation

Good evening to all the gurus here... Reading this thread fills me with so much hope.

I'd like to know what chances are for myself and my wife getting an opportunity to study in canada...we both hold masters degrees In political science and would love to progress for a PhD...we are 36 and 31 years respectively and have a little child of about less than a year...I'd like to know if there might be any challenge if we decide to go through this study route.
I think its advisable you as the husband go for a PHD and your Wife, baby & other assets etc. serve as your ties to Nigeria.

Your wife is a nursing mother of a baby of less than a year, so it's ideal she stays back, but I do hear of SOWP being mentioned on this group, something that has to do with the Husband (Principal applicant) going to Canada as a student, after arriving there, he applies for SOWP for his wife to come to Canada so while the husband is studying, she is working, this can also gone either way (Wife has the Principal Applicant).

I would suggest you await a professional response from the gurus and based on experience response from members on this platform who have followed this path and were successful

Since you are Masters degree holder in Political Science, you can consider going for a PHD in the follow programs based on how your Research Interests & your Prior Research Experience align with them;

PHD Public Policy
PHD in peace and conflict studies
PHD in Global Governance
PHD in Democratic Governance
PHD in International Relations
PHD in Mediation and Conflict Management studies
PHD in Leadership Management etc.

So you know, to go for a PHD, it is essential for your to secure a Supervisor (Professor). Before you can secure a Supervisor, you need to do serious research on Professors in Canadian Universities whose Research Areas aligns with your RESEARCH INTERESTS in the above PHD programs related to POLITICAL SCIENCE
