Speaking after the game watched by over 50,000 fans,
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick,
revealed that the federation was on the verge of finalising
arrangements for the friendly games, which would hold
before the 2022 World Cup qualifiers begin later this year.
He added that the matches would hold in the 73,000
capacity M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, United States.

“This is the launchpad we are providing for you to
showcase your talents,” Pinnick said while addressing the
players. “This team is our pride, and we will keep you and
monitor you because you are the next big thing in Nigerian
football.”

friendly games against Ghana possibly, Cameroun and
Canada, maybe. We will sort that out in the coming
weeks. We will tidy up all the documentation. You will be
playing at the 73,000 capacity M&T Bank Stadium.”

up of players from the Nigerian Professional Football League
(NPFL) with Ibrahim Sunusi, who plays for Montreal FC the

It’s a welcome development. The players tried and I like the way they passed the ball though there was little creativity in the middle.

I like the way they dribbled though Iwuala over do am. He is still very raw talent.

May be not. But did he say that his team stand no chance because their players are not playing for top European clubs?

If as a father you keep telling your children that they can't make it because of one reason or the other, 90 percent of them would end up not trying to make it.

npfl players are too raw to pick up and work on.
Rohr is allready picking and working on raw talent.
Maduka Okoye is an example. He picked him up from division 4 in Germany.
Europe based players are easy to refine because they are allready in a condusive environment.
There are many players based in Europe that Rohr can easily turn to world class and
market them to a top 5 league.
Rohr also did well for Samuel Kalu and made sure he stated in Bordeaux.
Rohr should concentrate on players like kelechi Nwakali, Obinna Nwobodo, Muazum etc
and see how he can make something out of them. There is hope for such players.
Products of our youth teams still have a lot of hope.
Adewole oladoye in particular may be world class very soon as he had a sensational debut for Gent
Abbass idris who just broke into a team in portugal is there e.t.c
Again i repeat, home based players are too raw to refine.
To refine a home based player takes at least 2 years and those obscure leagues
are doing the job for us as they can move on from there to better leagues in Europe.

Bros, I think something big is about to play out...Amaju is owing the foreign based thousands of dollars in unpaid bonus, owing the technical bench many months of unpaid bonuses and salary...He knows he won't pay the home base players dollars as bonus rather he pays them allowances per match. Amaju and his cohorts cash out big time playing this matches in USA, carpenter home base players are happy about the exposure but Nigeria football image in the global world nosedive to the abyss. I would not exonorate our politician Minister of home base football from all this debacle and shenanigans Amaju is pushing to our face. Amaju hands are tied and they all do not care about football development but only after what they can grab.

I will start by taking this issue up with the Sports writers Association of Nigeria. And then involve other stakeholders. We need to speak up and stop this man before he finally destroys our football. The only thing of pride left in this country!

Very spot on. For me, any player that is above 23/24 that is still in the NPFL is a waste of time. We can only use the talented ones below 23 (real age) for our youth teams. If you have played 5,6, or 7 seasons in the NPFL and you have not done enough to get European suitors, then you are definitely not good enough. I only see the NPFL as being good enough to pick players for our U20 and U23 teams, with the hopes that some of them will perform well and then get Clubs from Europe. That NPFL is total crap, presently. A league that cannot raise clubs that can compete in Africa. Always relying on bullying away teams to get home wins, in the domestic league.

The earlier we stop this Amaju guy and his crew, the better for our football.

That means no travel estacodes and other touring allowances they are now trying to organize those international friendlies, so they can benefit from the budget already kept aside for those tournaments that didn't hold. Most of them just want to use Super Eagles as a means to get home based players a move overseas. Nothing wrong with that but they should come out and be upfront with it instead of these lame talks of how home based players are getting ignored for "inferior" foreign based players.
People might say we're overreacting about the loss to Mexico but they should've remembered that when they keep attacking "foreign born" players unnecessarily when they have bad games.
SE is not a nurturing ground. It's the real deal. Only the best should be invited. People will need to swallow their pride and admit the standard of our league is just not good enough.

According to the media in Belgium, a glimmer of hope that Anderlecht could achieve a major transfer coup has appeared as regards signing Taiwo Awoniyi from Premier League club Liverpool.

Reports said Awoniyi already appears to be favourably disposed to the transfer as he just followed Anderlecht manager Vincent Kompany on Instagram.


Some fans suggest that this could well be a sign that negotiations are going well between the two clubs.
