This is excellent news. Not just remove the structures, those that put them up must pay fines before any plan is approved for the area again.

I don't know why people can never get approval to build! Worse still, they always build so close to the road! Some even build on top of the drainage gutter and block it. You wonder why black Africans believe slumming every location equates to "development"

Illegal structures springing up along one of the major roads leading to Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, have been marked for removal.

The marking exercise was conducted by a joint task force, led by officials of Anambra Physical Planning Board.

The board's Executive Chairman, Barrister Chike Maduekwe says approval was not obtained by such developers who he described is illegal, as the structures were supposed to be built one hundred meters away from the road.

The developers have maximum of two weeks to comply or have the structures be pulled down.

This is what we talk about marginalization, every Igbo man knows that most land are inherited land and the present owner may not have another place to go or build, instead of compensation to enable them to buy land in another area, the government now use the word illegal structure.

Yes the lands may not be registered but every Igbo man knows the land procedure in Igbo land which I am not sure any eastern state Constitution protect the system.

But the lands and House's was there before the commission of the airport.

A good leader should have interest of his people in mind, and in this type of issue, the best is to compensate the people for development than terms them illegal structure.
