There should be a voltmeter beside your generator, the type found in stabilizers. I am asking to know if the firing speed is too high on your generator.

I think mine came spoilt, because since i bought it the reading hasn't moved.
I bought it from a dealer.

You mean it's at zero. Well, it's likely the firing speed of the generator is too high, hence the loud noise. You can get someone to help you check it.

I have no idea, just beware of inferiors. A neighbour bought for Eco 1990s earlier in the year for around 40k( of course the mechanic must have had a filled day). Eco 1990s should cost same as the spg 1800. You may be better off getting a new generator, price.

Secondly about the oil ,I do use Conoil oil since I bought the gen and it doesn't dry up till I change it will just change colour ,but I bought oando oil recently it was drying up please what could be the problem.

Go back to your former oil. You don't oil because of change of colour, change after between 50-70 running hours. Your generator not bringing power, it's likely your AVR is having issues.

Check the output socket if there is any disconnected wire.

For a 2hp pumping machine, what size of generator is best suited to have. It will only be used to pump water for fish farm and probably carry lighting points. It is not intended for regular household use. I am buying one for my fish pond

Go back to your former oil. You don't oil because of change of colour, change after between 50-70 running hours. Your generator not bringing power, it's likely your AVR is having issues.

Hello boss, I have this Elemax gen I got in 2018. I used it without issues for about a year and then it started developing issues when I asked a mechanic to service it. From one problem to another. Now, the engine leaks oil from the engine block. This was after spending over 30k within two weeks to fix the gen.

The so-called mechanic is recommending I buy half engine for 28k or a superior half engine for 75k. I haven't used the gen for close to 3 months out of anger and I have a backup gen.

Do you advice I change the engine? Will it still be sound?

your coil is still the old and better ones. New generator might not be as good. Buy half engine. Buy the one of 75k
