Op. Thank you for taking out time to write this. I have pressed the follow button. Keep on the good work.

Do not mind programmers, na wetin dem wan chop dey make dem advise you on spending on MVP
1. Never dream of using your money to run a startup.
It is a suicide mission. In fact, how many people can afford it? And this is what I keep hearing. What a foolish suggestion. Do not listen to anyone who tells you to save. Save for your pension. Save for your vacations. Save to build your house. Save for other things but never save to invest in startups.

If you do not have the skill of engaging venture capitalists or Angel investors, you have no business in starting a tech business. It is as simple as ABC. What you need is to learn how to be a good CEO. And CEOs are scarce. This is why when you get the chance to be a cofounder, take it. But you also must be sure the fellow is not a 419 or an opportunist.

Programmers have failed in starting businesses, and they are now in the business of collecting money from JJCs. They only want your cash. That is it. They too know that most people they work for do not return to them. Why? Most businesses fail. They have failed too. And this is why they dont attempt to start again, but looking for who to push into it by collecting money in advance for MVP. If you tell them to pay like they want to collect from you, they will never do it. This is the truth here. So, something is missing. And it is the real engine of making a startup business work. But they dont want to acknowledge it because it is like handing over their ego. But when will they not? Better they agree now and become later CTOs or they keep working in Fiverr. Lol.

Dishonesty has so much high price. If we are honest people, we will not face these challenges. This is the price of parents supporting their dishonest kids because of money they get from them. The true price of dishonest programmers is what we are facing too. How do we get out of it? undecided

2. Never spend so much money on Minimal Viable Product - MVP.
Listen to me, these programmers are quick to tell you to do MVP with them. It's your money they want. Listen to me, if you are smart, you can do your own MVP. The most important is not the product, but something to test your hypothesis. You need to understand the hypothesis you want to test first. Your product is not that important at this stage; rather, the hypothesis you want to test should be of great value.

Well, a different strategy can be implemented if you are in a nation with a flourished economy, but you are in an emerging market. There is no cash, and you need to go really lean. Honestly, this is the only option you have. Let us be serious and face reality. I have looked at other strategies and I have come to conclusion that lean business models can save you. Therefore, stop thinking your MVP must be robust.

3. [u]Start thinking of using free apps you can use to test your early adopters.[u]
Start thinking of anything you can use to not engage these hungry Nigerian programmers. If you are successful with it, bros/sis, you are ready to approach sponsors. All you need to show them is the hypothesis and that if you build the product, customers will flow in. This is your main job. You are not to start running around for money. Anything that makes you start running around for money to pay programmers is dead on arrival if you have limited cash.

If you cannot think of a very simple MVP to test your hypothesis, sorry, you arent ready to start yet. You have failed before you even get started. And I can see a new CEO storing water in baskets.

Programmers, get in here and start attacking me. I do not care. You have all failed, so you all take back seats.

Note: Apology to the good programmers out there. The frustrated ones have created a bad impression of you to everyone. And I pray doors will open for you. Continue to be good, I promise you that you will make it soon..

@OP, Thank you very much for this thread. Pls keep it coming. I personally agree with all you have said above. I don't see any reason why someone will want to argue with you. These 2 Programs you shared above are good and the Book LEAN Startup is like a must Read if one wants to be a Successfully TechPreneur.

Thank you sir for your kind words. Actually, I expect the criticism, but a good manager or leader must be able to use all such for the benefit of the job at hand. Well, the criticism has made my readers to see two views and it's left for them to take the path they want.

There are many startup programs for entrepreneurs or "techpreneurs", but do you know why I shared these? I will tell you. Many of the programmers acting like mentors here cannot even "man up" to take the opportunities because they know their standard is not up to it yet. I also put a school here where they can learn. This is a standard they must meet to be able to attract investors. But are they up to this standard? They need to start asking themselves. For you to have made comments on them it means you are focused.

Now, these programmers need to start thinking of innovative options for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. But they arent thinking about it, rather, they are all in the same boat of developing add ons, supplementary apps for these giants. But the future is not good for these giants because they all got too much involved in politics, even politics of other nations in the name of "freedom of speech". It is not good for business. OK, Nigeria is the first nation with balls to suspend Twitter. And as powerful as Russia is, she couldn't do it first; however, decided to ask all of them to register companies in Russia. Of course, Nigeria asked for it first also. Lol. So, can you see what I am seeing? These giants are going down soon. How many nations will they open companies in directly and start paying taxes to all. grin And before you know it, Trump and his allies will move against them in the US too. I see them losing grip of their markets all over the world soon. So, what can we do? Even before Nigeria announced Twitter ban, Kremlim had announced that all foreign software and apps will be banned soon, and only Russian indigenous and open sources will be allowed. So, Kremlim had asked their guys to develop substitutes now pending the time the ban will take effect. Meaning that Google, Apple, Microsoft etc are going down in Russia very soon. Why? Russia knows what she has done in terms of hacking and she knows how these foreign software and apps can be deployed and used against them. grin Is that not a huge opportunity for the Russian developers? Many nations will follow the trend soon. Mark my words. Except these giants retrace their steps fast and stop meddling with political issues.

The same opportunity is in Nigeria. I was first against the Twitter ban, and I even had a thread on it. But when I sat down, I saw a huge future with this ban in place. Huge opportunities for boys and girls here. Guys start thinking. Start innovating. Start thinking ahead.

I am kinda busy, but I'll move the thread forward. May be slow, but I will. I will talk about areas and industries we should think of. It is not about financial, marketing, social media services only.

You can make a clear point without constantly antagonizing programmers.
Your writeups are beautiful and worth the read but it’s noticeable that you hold a deep dislike for coders.
You have to understand how the tech ecosystem is.

Yes...I understand the Nigerian ecosystem very well that they are terrible.

Of course not, I do not dislike coders, but I dislike barbaric attitude in Nigerian coders like you called them, and I said it that I will be merciless. Bro, if you know the pride and nauseating attitude of these set of people called "Nigerian coders....OMG!!! If you are one of them, change! Change for good. They are nauseating esp after paying them. Are you a terrible human after being paid, you behave like a dou.chebag? If yes, you better change. I have dealt with a couple of them, and I know that attitude. Ok? I enjoy good coders. They are great. When you meet a brain with good attitude, honestly, you just want to be the friend of such for life. But these doucheb.ags I pray to not encounter them again. But I pray for good Nigerian coders to prosper. The thing is that most are still kids. When I say kids, I mean kids. Yea...in their 20s, maybe 30s. Fine! And I pray God should prosper the good ones and let them learn fast.

You definitely understand what I am saying sir. And sir, I will hammer them more here. You all know I am saying the truth. I will have no mercy on them till they change. This thread will reinforce good characters and attitude in them.

So, I am happy you noticed it. But try to research deep and you will see how it all started. I gave a piece of advice, and the douchbags brought out their nauseating characters even before I started this thread. Anyway, thanks for your observation, when they behave like normal humans, I will treat them like likewise. Mainwhile, they are still inferior to business oriented boys. And we want to train them to "up" their games to the standard. If they dont want to learn, let them leave those who are ready.

Obviously, you dont know how disgusting Nigerian coders attitudes are. I guess you are one of them too.

Thank you sir. Read and learn from my thread. Next!!!

Herdsmen, Secession Agitations, Bandits, etc
Listen to me, you are a problem solver. Get this into your brain. You are to solve problems, and not turn yourself to Rank Xerox only following and copying successes.

Excuse me!!! Could you look at the main challenges Nigeria is facing and come up with solutions? Come on! It is not only about just coding. You must understand the industry you have seen challenges in. So, tell me, how can you just start learning about many industries. Of course not, a tree cannot make a forest. I am telling you that you must be in a team in order to be useful.

How do you see just learning many programs help you. C#, C++, Java, etc. I appreciate all, but let us come together to solve challenges we have. Some can define the problems well, while you can code to make it happen. At the same time, there might be need for developing hardware too.

Who says Nigerians cannot also start building and innovating? Tell me. Who say so?

I will release concepts here. Though, some might look intimidating, but you can still break them down to the simplest versions. Trust me, I have seen people do crazy stuff with my articles which is beyond me also. I just receive letters and proofs of some creativities and I start imagining how such brains had been hiding. Mehn! I dont doubt people. I dont put a limit to what guys can do. I respect 20s, 30s and 40s brain. I may "bash" you, but trust me, I respect your brains. I will never underestimate anyone.

So, pardon me if what I am about launching to is a bit scary, but trust me, it is not. You just gat to pick up materials and level up. That's all. If you can "jam" Java, C++, C, PhP, Javastrict and many other stuff in that tiny brain of yours, trust me that you can "jam" more into it.

I may say Nigerian coders are "this and that", but trust me, I respect everyone of you and your brains. I mean it. Seriously. I have seen enough to not underestimate anyone. And a Nigerian brain is magnetic. I will continue with this new areas you guys should start looking into soon. Yes, you can do it.

Yes I am a full time developer.
Yes I agree we do have a big ego.
Programming is a cognitive demanding task.
But douchebagery is common in every field.
Not every programmer wants to be a business person, some just wanna code.
I guess the coders you met are mostly freelancers and not industry developers.
Industry developers in this context are those who work for companies and understand that the business they work for needs to succeed if not they could be jobless.
You need to understand that not every developer wants to be a business person, some just want to code and ship high quality software.
Again you can make your point without antagonizing us.
Thank you very much

Please, ignore the guy up there and let's move on. I do not have anything against the 0.1% who have the opportunity to work in companies. He is trying to paint the opporurnies as numerous. Well, we all know most are into Fiverr....if you dont want to be hustling in Fiverr again, kindly leave your ego and listen to what I am saying. He is concerned because he is who I am trashing (which is the truth). He is trying to be polite, but deep inside him, he knows what I am saying is the truth. Over 99.8% of programmers presently in Nigeria are hustlers and this thread is for you. Let's leave the 0.1% who are earning six figures monthly aside. God bless their hustle too.

Like I said, I will continue with business trends we should be looking into. They may look intimidating, but they arent. Remember, if you have the opportunity to own a business, partner with someone who knows about running businesses and you can still focus only on coding while you allow the person run the business. We are in an emerging market and the jobs arent there. So, if you want to hustle for jobs which arent available, it is OK. But if you want to be innovative and tap into available resources, please read on.

Please, kindly assist me beg egoistic programmers to let us breath. A beg una. Biko!

What's next for AI research?
The new trends I am talking about drive the currently “hot” areas of AI research into both fundamental methods and application areas:

Large-scale machine learning concerns the design of learning algorithms, as well as scaling existing algorithms, to work with extremely large data sets.

Deep learning, a class of learning procedures, has facilitated object recognition in images, video labeling, and activity recognition, and is making significant inroads into other areas of perception, such as audio, speech, and natural language processing.

Reinforcement learning is a framework that shifts the focus of machine learning from pattern recognition to experience-driven sequential decision-making. It promises to carry AI applications forward toward taking actions in the real world. While largely confined to academia over the past several decades, it is now seeing some practical, real-world successes.
Robotics is currently concerned with how to train a robot to interact with the world around it in generalizable and predictable ways, how to facilitate manipulation of objects in interactive environments, and how to interact with people. Advances in
robotics will rely on commensurate advances to improve the reliability and generality of computer vision and other forms of machine perception.

Computer vision is currently the most prominent form of machine perception. It has been the sub-area of AI most transformed by the rise of deep learning. For the first time, computers are able to perform some vision tasks better than people. Much current research is focused on automatic image and video captioning.

Natural Language Processing, often coupled with automatic speech recognition, is quickly becoming a commodity for widely spoken languages with large data sets. Research is now shifting to develop refined and capable systems that are able to
interact with people through dialog, not just react to stylized requests. Great strides have also been made in machine translation among different languages, with more real-time person-to-person exchanges on the near horizon.

Collaborative systems research investigates models and algorithms to help develop autonomous systems that can work collaboratively with other systems and with humans.

Crowdsourcing and human computation research investigates methods to augment computer systems by making automated calls to human expertise to solve problems that computers alone cannot solve well.

Algorithmic game theory and computational social choice draw attention to the economic and social computing dimensions of AI, such as how systems can
handle potentially misaligned incentives, including self-interested human participants or firms and the automated AI-based agents representing them.

Internet of Things (IoT) research is devoted to the idea that a wide array of
devices, including appliances, vehicles, buildings, and cameras, can be interconnected to
collect and share their abundant sensory information to use for intelligent purposes.

Neuromorphic computing is a set of technologies that seek to mimic
biological neural networks to improve the hardware efficiency and robustness of computing systems, often replacing an older emphasis on separate modules for input/output, instruction-processing, and memory.

I suspect OP is Chidi, and if it is, Good one, Cuz I always read your post on LinkedIn. But everything you have written is accurate.

The future is complex solutions like Computer Vision and the others, which is why I feel I must leave this country to further one's knowledge , I will look at the SavyFellow. I am interested, because I usually say it, Web Dev will soon be outdated to a degree, I prefer to be in a different field. All the best bro

Now with this!! You deserve a standing Ovation. Now no bash anyone again abeg! grin grin just dey drop better jeloof rice and Egusi soup dey go! One love

@Lordally, thanks for your kind words. How does one respond to nasty kids below:

africonn:

Ride on though i have this feeling you are not someone any sane person should work with.

Karleb:

I find the guy and his thread annoying.

africonn:

He writes like his opinions are fact.

@Lordally, the so called nasty nice guy posted direct insult and abuses in several places apart from the above. He said his own father is crazy. A kid I know that if I handle, his papa and mama will both prostrate and knee to start begging. Is that one a nice person? He has no home training. And all the above nasty friends of his above. I am telling you the truth. They are not nice. They sounds nice when their ego is in place, but as soon as my words start itching them, they became nasty. I do not even know any of them before I started this thread. So, why did they come and say rubbish? Imagine the Africonn idiotaaa saying his father is insane and no one should work with him. I think his mother is in Yabaleft as we speak.

I mean, why such insult? For what?

If that's why you have been barking like a rabid dog for days now then it means you need to have your head checked.

Your reference to yabaleft makes it obvious that that is where you reside.

Secondly your write ups are insightful even though I personally deeply do not agree with all of them and maybe my own response is just to ignore the ones I don't agree and focus on the ones that goes well with me and theirs is to be vocal about certain parts dey don't concur to. Face $100 million dollars for Nigeria
Almost all Nigerian blogs and daily news outlets reported a fintech company in Anambra won $100 million in May 2021. I was a big shocked as it doesnt happen even in the US like that to pump $100 million in just a coy. What did Facebook see in this company based in Anambra. How come facebook over looked YabaCon Valley in Lagos? It must be a joke.

Here is a link according to how Daily Traut reported it:
Nigerian Firm wins $100 grants Facebook grant

Yeah! I guessed rightly, Nigerian journalists are douchebags. Here is the correct report:
url=https://www.techawkng.com/2021/05/21/nigerian-fintech-startup-escrowlock-among-winners-of-100m-facebook-grant/amp/]
Nigerian Fintech Startup, EscrowLock Among Winners of $100m Facebook Grant[/url]
The $100million fund was for 30,000 tech companies globally. And a company receives an average of $3,333. Of course not all companies will receive same amount some will even receive more. So, heaven really knows the real amount Facebook awarded the fintech company in Anambra.

Here is my point again, the funds are in developing nations as I am sure facebook will never try to give any American, Canadian, British, Australian, or EU tech firm just $3,333. If there are among those awarded, I am sure a firm there will receive up to $50,000 or even more. So why would Facebook think a Nigerian tech company deserves not more than $3,333. For what exactly? Perhaps, FB defined what exactly the cash should be used for which may just be an area of their businesses....well, still.better than noting. Hmmmmm.... only those who do not know the game think this is huge. It is tiny. It is small. This is the fact.

Startups are not well funded in Nigeria because we aren't innovative enough
Would you also invest so much in non innovative people? Someone asked me if I am into startups in another thread and yes, he guessed rightly. But I am moving forward doing greater things. How? I am going deeply into Research in order to drive to Nigeria more than crumbs we are getting.

You gift and talent when developed attracts enthusiastics. The way my thread has attracted many is the way your programming skill should attract investors if you are innovative. You dont beg for money, but they fight to get you. If you are presently begging for opportunities, it means you arent innovative enough. And this thread is for you..

I do not think I have ever heard of a startup offer of less than $50,000 in the US, Canada and EU. But God why? $3,000 - max of $10,000 offer in Nigeria. Gush! What the heck am I gonna use that for? Yet, boys and gals still hustle faithfully for it. At least, this still something. But truly and frankly speaking, if we are really innovative, we will have more offers.

Great! I bless the minds who dont want to be innovative but work for the so called big companies. Indeed big. Lol. Mehn! I will open your eyes. Someone was even proud to say it here and challenged me that I should go and learn the trend in the IT industry. Oh! I know about the trend and it is why I am opening the eyes of Nigerian programmers (esp the person who said I dont knkw the IT and tech trend) who decide to be dogmatic and sleepy. OK! I get it, poverty has turned brains upside down (Not insulting anyone here, but this is the absolute truth...its affecting me too and I am fighting it hard). Poverty steals away ones life and value. It is OK if anyone wants to be a slave, but I wont be one, I am going to fight till I defeat it. Just imagine the talk that some want to be receiving salaries. Receiving how much? At most N600k monthly which many of those in the so called companies arent receive half. And that's how much in dollars? Just $1,333, meaning majority of those in these companies receive less than $650 monthly. The salary of a low non skilled person in the US is even higher than this. I mean even a MC Donald's or Starbuck attendant earn more than this every month. And food is getting more expensive in Nigeria. I tell you, many of you are blind and you dont see the potentials and opportunities in you.

Start thinking deep. How can you be thinking of still making enough money with only website development skill? Are you kidding me? So, in this 2021, you think website development is a special skill which can get you financial freedom? Excuse me! Kids in elementary are already designing websites in Japan and Indian, so tell me what is the big issue with knowing how to design websites? And you expect someone to pay you so much for designing websites? OMG!

If you think I am abusing you, trust me...I am not. Yeah! Trust me, I need to knock this truth into your skull so you can change.

You wanna be innovative think forward. Pick up the areas in my posts above and start learning. The Google search engine algorithm is an advance AI algorithm which is a continuous process.

[/b]Only Forward looking person will agree with me[/b]
I do not ask everyone to agree with me, and I am not into debating with anyone. After all, only an insightful person and someone who wants to be helped will agree with me. Also, it is hard to look forward if not insightful, and it will be hard to see what I have seen. An insightful person knows not all areas will work out in the future, but the trend is what we are talking about. After all, the majority of people only know about an area after smart and rich people have pivoted to something else. Africa picks up what developed countries have used and is already becoming obsolete.

Crude Oil is becoming obsolete, yet Nigeria is investing massively. Is this looking forward?
Even we know that crude oil and gas is becoming what we may not be able to use it is this time Nigeria even discovered more gas, it is this time our non innovative government passed another bill on petroleum product. Come on! 20 years is just like tomorrow, when the axe of clean energy will start cutting us from the rest of the world. They will tag us a bad nation destroying the ecosystem and environment. They will award us a low score among the nations that protect the environment, and may even recommend sanctions. Yet, they did far worse than us to the environment. And then, the gas we have just discovered may be a waste. Perhaps, only some stubborn nations like us will buy and we may be the teched as the enemy of nature. But we can see the handwriting where this is leading us to. Well may e only few of us can see it. Maybe it is only few of us seeing forward is very easy for. Gosh!

Even Dangote is just about finishing the biggest oil refinery in the world. Lol. He is just after his own profit. He knows he is making it big. Lol. But he is not even thinking forward. Dangote should be sponsoring innovative people, but no. God bless Tony Elumelu. Oh! I am not disrespecting Alhaji, I'm just trying to show you what is to be innovative. Dangote is smart, and he knows what we need in emerging economy too. I respect him anyday anytime. He is a G. Perhaps if I had the opportunity of building a refinery too at this time I know it is becoming obsolete soon, of course, I would. Why. I will never lose my money in this non innovative environment. They will continue making me rich. So, I also pray for Dangote's blessing.

Some say I am just writing an essay
May heaven help them. No more word for them. No matter how you try to move people only a tiny few will move. Even the nasty guys i mentioned above may be deceiving others. They are learning and reading, while making nasty comments to discourage you. They have deceived you enough, but only you can deliver yourself. Think over your life. Is this thread just an essay you also laugh over and think it's only just a good piece of article? Or is it pushing you to start in innovating so you can become someone in the nearest future?

Lord, heal our brain.

Mr op this is my own question :
What startup have you started?
What product have you deployed in Nigeria? Or Africa self.
Because you are souding as if everything is easy. Like you are the only enlightened one, the wizard of business and tech that has come to save Nigeria programmers while writing half truth essays laced with attacks against Nigerian programmers .

Show us your startup, let's see if you are qualified to dish out advice.
The most painful aspect of your writing is when you shaded africon on his startup like you are any better. Show us your work!

Anyway thanks for the startup program links you posted above. You are not completely unhelpful

In his defence, you don’t always need to be a startup founder to give advice.
My only issue with him is the way he antagonizes developers.
Experience should tel him that just because someone is a web developer doesn’t mean he can build an actual software product.
I told him to stop programmers bla bla but you can read what he typed up there in response

Check again, some of his posts reeks of condescension of others. He believes his train of thought is absolute and anyone who disagrees is somehow blind or lacks the insight that only he has .

By the way, why advice people and at the same time subtly abuse them?

If I will accept advice with abuse from someone, it has to be from someone that has toeed the path and has the experience. Hence why I asked for evidence of his experience in programming and entrepreneurship

If you really want to learn, disregard the failures above and just keep learning. I will show you trends you should start looking into. Look forward and you will be fine. Maybe these ones are the ones you look up to, I can tell you that they are craps. E dey pain dem say a dey show you good stuff. They will come out more, but listen, just keep reading. I will be lashing them "small small", but at the same time will not lose focus on what we are doing. You will know areas to work on.

No forward looking person will not start interacting with me on this thread cos I am way into 2030 and beyond. I love public discussion rather than private so many can learn. There are gifts who arent shown what to do. It's just websites, ecommerce sites, etc development I see here. It has to change. But they are mostly not forward looking. I do not blame them. May be it's a gift to be forward looking. But I know it can be learned with humility.

A programmer always think like one. Imagine what that programmer is reading and he bursted himself to be a quark by asking me evidence of being a programmer. Is he really dumb? He didnt even pay attention to what I have written. This is what I keep telling you..CEOs are listeners. They pay great attention. Imagine. Is that one I will give $1 to do something? Someone who is not even attentive?

Gush! May God help us in this Nigeria. Maybe that guy is from Borno where the cut off is 2, while the Imo student has to have 135. Gush! undecided Borno programmer, take your time. A dey warn you. You better join me and let's brainstorm and make things happen instead of showing your hatred..

Let's start discussing how to acquire massive data and make decisions by flying drones. Let's start talking about how to protect our votes using technology. 2023 is around the corner. Who says we cannot compel government to do the right thing with tech. Instead of making nuisance of ourselves fighting like thugs in the street on election days, or allowing some thugs rattle us, let's find solutions now.

Lol bornu kill you there grin grin

I asked what product have you rolled out, no answer
What start up have you founded ? No answer
What forward thinking software have you written? No answer.

His only response is one lame article full of tasteless shades. I know your Type, low budget motivational speakers, people who brag without evidence to back them. People with sugary mouth who deceive others to believe they are more than who they are... Shiorrr

Having a discussion and advising others is good but there are honorable/mature ways to do it. Not by being pompous and wearing a gown of arrogance and superiority and abusing the audience of the discourse .

My only problem with you is your undertone. Learn to be humble, it will save you one day.

Anyway I like your suggestion on 2023 elections.

Business Canvas you should adopt
Look at the picture below. You must find a problem which you need to work on. This is your way to make it. Find a problem. Then, solve it. It doesnt take a day to solve problems. If they are easy to solve, they will not be a money making channels. Find a difficult problem, and solve it.

Then, create an unfair advantage for your product or service. Let no one easily compete with you. Your key metrics are the hypothesis I talked about earlier - value of your product/service and it will grow. You dont expect your company to grow by just spamming ads on NL. You company will not grow without testing very well which way you should go about it. You cannot grow by begging people to patronize you.

And in life, if you are working for only people who are solving problems, you will not grow. You will only make those solving problems grow.

Again, I am leaving Borno 2 points cut off mark behind. Just read their comments and keep it in mind this is who they are in real life. Even while interviewing them, they always want to show off but arguing tertibly. Empty barrels always make the loudest noise. A real programmer is silent. He has so much to think about. Is it a programmer who is trying to figure out how a drone can scan accurately (sourcing for good video lenses, coding database for storing and finding the right way to process the images) will have time to fight me here? Instead, he will be "gingered" and praying for me to put more online. But Brono 2 cut off points arent forward looking. Just exactly the way their politicians are too slow to look forward. There are too many Borno non indigenous programmers who have been roaming about this place too long.

May God help our understanding.

Let me start by saying a big THANK YOU for this wonderful and detailed write-up, you actually say parts of what is running in my head for days now. In addition to all what you’ve written so far (which I still believe you still have more up in your sleeve) this problem is actually not only a programmer thing, it is a GENERAL NIGERIAN PROBLEM. Nigeria and Nigerians are still stuck in the 60s in term of almost everything including infrastructure, business approach, technology, agriculture, energy supply and even cultural activities. Forget all these buildings, companies and these and those, the truth is most of these things or resources we thought we have have been developed in many other technology advanced countries even south-Africa (yes, SA are no longer our mate even if they don’t have the resources we have). Let me give some example
CHINA: 1. some year(s) ago China completed a block of flat(s) within 24hours. (3D technology)
2. China have technologically advanced underground car park all you need to do is park your car on a particular surface and the technology will carry your car underneath the earth and find an empty space to park.
3. Few weeks ago a footage of China tech demolished a building(about 3or more stories) and rebuilt it under 24hours.
4. Chinese has light rail technology
To name few of what they could do

JAPAN: Japan was hit by 2 nuclear bombs during wwii yet Japan has advance technology the rest of the world wanna have
1. Supersonic light-rail
2. Selfie assisted points in some of their cities
And many more (google is your friend)

SOUTH AFRICA: South Africans built their own MILITARY mine-proof TANKS (built and assembled from the scratch in South Africa)
Some south African aviation students built their own MANNED airplane and was flew to another country(s)

While they all still maintain and preserve their culture
The only thing we can do in Nigeria is to replicate (sheet sucks) and kidnap and loot
Nigeria has more resources than some of these technology developed countries but we prefer to still sell it to them or destroy them or not even looking into them. The difference between these countries and Nigeria is THEY HAVE THINKERS and THEY UTILIZE THEM while NIGERIANS doesn’t even think and/or doesn’t utilize their thoughts, they work together while we don’t want to do that, imagine if na 9ja man get Facebook many of his “brain behind the wheel go don looseguard am and start their own “4kbook”

The day we start thinking, ready to work and reason together regardless of where you come from the day Nigeria will start to boom in all aspects

PeaceJoyLove (Sir) I will like to know you more physically or electronically because their are lot of knowledge I will like to attain from you, together we can look for other “bright minds” and make Nigeria work again... With PEACE JOY LOVE Nigeria will thrive again

Look at the underlines sentence...hmmm. Have you ever noticed that many fairly average or even poor students in Nigeria usually get outstanding (first class) grades when they travel out? I know many who finished with 3rd class division and they ended up having super high CGPA for their masters and PhD in foreign universities. I remember reading a story of a guy whose teachers were forced to ask him take IQ test, and he happens to be a genius. There is something wrong with our system.

The truth is clear, but we dont want to accept it. How can Borno student's cut off mark to government model colleges is 2 point? What kind of nons.ense is that? While that of Anambra is over 130. Lol. How can a person like Buhari lead Nigeria? You cannot compare is IQ to Osinbajo. Not possible. How can someone who is an Islamic phd holder be minister of Communical and Digital Economy? What does Pantami know about digital economy and tech? He was suppose to lead the Nigerian delegates to Silicon Valley, but Buhari himself knows he is not able, and he had to send Osinbajo. The Nigerian system puts du.llards in positions real brains should occupy. And they block good things from happening. This is what corruption and nepotism do.

Let me give some example
CHINA: 1. some year(s) ago China completed a block of flat(s) within 24hours. (3D technology)
I talked about 2D printing above. Since toy you mentioned it again, watch this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS5OgZkf74Q
This new technology drives down the cost of housing by 60% in one documentary I watched. That was a bungalow, but this one is a 2 storey building meaning that the decking is concrete. Not just fixing wood. You know that the houses which are fixed easily get burned when there is fire disaster. This is huge sir. You can imagine having a printer using cement as its ink. Laying metals, etc. This is huge.

2. China have technologically advanced underground car park all you need to do is park your car on a particular surface and the technology will carry your car underneath the earth and find an empty space to park.
This is purely AI. Lol. Watch this video for the concept you talked about:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6piefdXjL8
This one even covers a wider range. It can be used in a whole city. You can imagine using this technology in Lagos, this is huge. This is what we can implement here sir. And as a matter of fact, it is a project I have a team working on.

3. Few weeks ago a footage of China tech demolished a building(about 3or more stories) and rebuilt it under 24hours.
4. Chinese has light rail technology
To name few of what they could do
If we create the right atmosphere, we can do better, but it looting we want to do. Even parents dont care what their children do to make money as long as they are settled. Hushpuppi is a business man until....lol.

JAPAN: Japan was hit by 2 nuclear bombs during wwii yet Japan has advance technology the rest of the world wanna have
1. Supersonic light-rail
2. Selfie assisted points in some of their cities
And many more (google is your friend)
smiley

SOUTH AFRICA: South Africans built their own MILITARY mine-proof TANKS (built and assembled from the scratch in South Africa)

They are making money via bandits. Lol.

Nairaland should be better than this. I see a new "thing" making NL obsolete very soon. You know it seemed Yahoo was the god of internet, but innovation got rid of it. And google is just advancing and innovating. Google isn't sleeping like how yahoo slept in thos days. Nairaland is the typical example here. grin
