Bro, look at the profile of those giving u advice and know where to pitch ur tent. Im a civil engineer and I must tell u the truth, architecture has no single advantage over civil engineering in the present day Nigeria. In fact, no course really has an edge in today's Nigeria - there's no job. As a civil engineer in Nigeria, u can do everything an architect does and even more. The truth of the matter is that there's no job in Nigeria, but a civil engineer has all the options an architect has and more. Architect focuses only on buildings and civil engineers can also do that, but on the flip side, a civil engineer can work on roads, drainage, water supply, construction management, surveying and a host of others; whereas an architect only works on buildings!

N.B: If I were to advise, go for electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, chemistry, physics or mathematics if u are an excellent student. After many years you will thank me.

The late lecturer who taught me geology, a subfield in civil engineering was doing very well, he was doing 4 things at a time. He was earning very well. It is good you know what you are doing in life after going through school and acquiring the requisite skills.

Quantity Surveyor
Mechanical And Electrical Engineer
Builder
ELV Engineer........they all depend on Architectural design to survive........... So Architecture is the way

With civil engineering you can work anywhere but architecture has a lot of constrains.
Civil engineers design building plans too and execute the project as planned. There are so many projects that you can be contracted to supervise as such on like architecture.
The list is endless.

It’s basically the other way round in a typical Construction setting.
The Architect does his designs, then employs the service of the structural engineer for the structure and pays him off.

It’s better to just advice the boy based on true facts and not your imaginations.
