Yeah my cousins kept their mum for a year before burying her. But was actually because they are all based abroad. They were around to bury their dad. When they went back to base, their mum died and they couldn't come immediately.

But not muslims. They have a stipulated tine when the body has to be buried. I don't think they embalm.
