N'Landers, I need information on competitive soft loan rates offers by other banks asides GTBank. It doesn't make sense not getting any benefit nor leverage maintaining salary account with them when they would now tell you only government workers are allowed access to loans due to one funny reason or the other. Your thoughts please. Even if I don't need it now, i had loved to have that leverage. I need move my salary account fast from GTBank. The quick credit thing is more like a smoke screen to hoodwink people in maintaing relationship with them.

The effectiveness is old glory to me. Most times fast food restaurants, business making use of POS and other banks' ATM reject GT's cards. They have a beautiful website but really that is all to it. you had think differently when you try out some of the features.

I've maintained salary account with them for a decade and only requested loan (max of 300k or so) less than 4 times in the past ithroughout the customer journey of a decade. Last time i ever requested a lift was over 3 years ago (rarely need loans as I earn close to 8 digits annually). Am always having 7 digits up in my account. There is aboslutely no further benefit keeping such relationship with the bank when all the while they were using your deposited money for other businesses, and when you now need their shoulder, they give flimsy excuses. Even the government workers they are mentioning, how many of them keep savings?

I am glad you mentioned the fact that last time you requested a loan is 3years ago, things have changed and the way quick credit is designed now is totally different, I do not need any loan right now but if I click on the quick credit tab, I'm offered a loan of 372k right out of the box and if I click request, my account will be credited in less than 2 mins, same applies to access bank, on my loan tab, I'm eligible to 280k and that's not even a salary account. There's been a great improvement this year regarding loans.

kuda will be the number goto bank for overdraft, their offering is beyond realistic however I would warn you not to take advantage of the loans if you don't really need it.

I hardly take loans. A bank should be able to give loans to it's customers. That's just the point. Refusing to give loans to customers makes a bank less than a bank.

I have been thinking of this lately.

I went my GTB account statement just this year Jan-June, 2021 and saw over a period my account with them has done 35m with them just this first quarter of 2021 and this is an account I have opened with them since 2010.

I have not gotten one loan or an offer of loan from them.

Which other bank can one switch to that will at least assure one of loan?

GTB is useless in this regard.

I guess it is time to go get my Sterling Bank reactivated but my fear is the porous nature of their app. I used them briefly last two years. I lost my phone and when I recovered my sim. There were debits on the account but thank God it was small money I left there.

I guess that they must have improved now.
I will go reactivate the Sterling Bank account again.

Sterling seems to improve periodically. Access bank apears like a reoccuring decimal here. I guess had enquire about them and Kuda.
