I told y'all didn't I? And this dude is not done yet. Expect atleast another one 30+ game from Him this series.
This was not an efficient game sha. 33 shots for 40 points. He came up clutch though, so I'll give him that.

Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m):
Interesting that Giannis took the least shots among the big 3 in this game. He took just 19. Jrue took 20, and Middleton took a whooping 33 shots. I believe if Giannis had more of the ball and took more shots this game wouldn't have been this close, because his efficiency is always top notch. He's sure of giving you at least 50% shooting every night.

Game 5 would be do or die for both teams. Anyone who wins it will most likely win the championship.

I think its the opposite. If the shots are there, take them. If not, let Jrue and Middleton carry the load. They gave Middleton those looks, and he knocked them down. Fantastic job by Giannis recognizing this, and still playing excellent defense.

On the other hand, Suns deferred to Booker too much, and he tried to carry the team. No one else on the team really got going. Thats the thing with superstar plays. If you rely on it too much, you have likely open teammates that are just standing there. Your stats will look good, everyone else's stat will look bad. This is what happened to Bucks in game 2, and everyone was praising Giannis and blaming the other 2. Now its the suns with Booker dropping 40 and everyone else looking bad.

Sometimes that is what it takes to win letting your 'others' take over when they are in the zone. This is why superstars who are true number 1 options can affect the game beyond just scoring which is what a Giannis, LeBron, Kobe, Olajuwon, MJ, Timmy etc could do effectively.

Guy. Jrue almost shot his team out of that contest. He's been abysmal and is only getting away with it because he's not named Eric Bledsoe and somehow CP3 has actually been worse.

Can honestly say that homecourt advantage was the only reason the Bucks were always able to rally each time they went behind. Middleton was not super efficient either but his buckets were timely. Giannis can't keep playing facilitator when your point guard is shooting 4/20. They won't get away with this on the road

Lol. Let's gloss over the fact that Booker should have fouled out. On the road the onus is usually on the star man to carry the mantle. Booker did his job, the rest didn't. Simple as that. So if they look bad it's because they didn't perform and it has nothing to do with Booker. You wouldn't say this if we switched Booker with Lebron

CP3 was terrible, Ayton ineffective, Bridges same thing the only guy who looked decent was Johnson. Crowder also had a decent game but do you really want to run your offense through Jae Crowder?

He knocked down the shots at a below par efficiency. Let's not even talk of Jrue. In no situation is it a good idea to have this kind of discrepancy in shots between your superstar and your second option. That's a recipe for failure. The game was unnecessarily close going into clutch time and it could easily have gone the other way if not for some sloppy mistakes and the foul trouble on Booker. There were a couple of times Giannis asked for the ball and Middleton flat out shunned him. Giannis even made his frustration known one certain time the ball went out of bounds. We know Middleton should have the ball in the clutch, as he showed yesterday, but the first 3¾ quarters your superstar should be the one inflicting most of the damage, and maybe they wouldn't have had to face that scare at all. Just like game 3.

Middleton is a jump shooter. He needs the volume. Superstars that share the ball get everyone else going first, then get theirs. All those 50-50 loose balls that they beat the Suns to, it feeds off of being involved in the plays. the 2 games the bucks have won, it has been getting everyone involved, so where is the failure?

That is exactly my point. You would rather supporting cast be cold in the beginning, and warm up. Than stay cold and not be able to help at the end of the game. You are not going to beat the Suns in 4 out of 7 games without this formula

Again, that is my point. If you look at the stats, it looks like he did well. But he cost the team several possesions where he tried to be a superhero. Ruined several plays where no one got touches. At one point he told even CP3 to clear out. And he missed on that possession. Again, stop the stat watching, and see the flow of the game. You get everyone hot, and the superstar can take over anytime while the supporting cast stays hot. Giannis made this mistake in game 2. Booker in Game 4.

Guess what the narrative is? Giannis’s block last night is better than LeBum’s block on Iggy! I could care less truthfully buttttttt…Are we still talking about disrespect of superstar Giannis? My brother, it doesn’t exist! Not at least in mainstream conversations.

Giannis is a protected specie.

Please tell me you are kidding with the attachment you have included! Please tell me this is a joke! I don’t know where you cropped it from but it is extremely obvious it lacks any kind of mainstream following which buttresses my point.

Let me get you straight, your idea of respect for Giannis is for him to be included in the conversation of GOAT or the face of the league? Habamana!!!! Dis Na the real problem..The fact that you deem that block better than LeBum’s and it is the narrative in the NBA today’s speaks to my point that Giannis gets a whole lot more respect than you are admitting. Like I said earlier, I could care less whose is better.

What exactly has Giannis achieved since he became a superstar to be placed on the same pedestal as LeBum/Kawhi/Slimreaper? I am LeBum’s biggest critic on this thread but the man has earned his stripe to even be in the conversation! This is nothing about back to back 40pt games, bro, anyone can put up that number! Booker nearly did, does that make him better than Giannis? Giannis performance or lack there of in the post season is open book for anyone to spy!

Outside of this season, what exactly has Giannis achieved in the post season? Please, this is not a conversation of his supporting cast! This is a conversation about him! Come on now!!! You guys have gone way too far with this thing.. At any point in time, can you make a credible statement that Giannis is the best player in the league? I am not talking about regular season MVP titles here! I am asking you to beat your chest and say over the last 3-4 years, there has been a year Giannis was better than LeBum, Slimreaper, Kawhi or even Curry? That Giannis was the best player in the league! This is what I mean whenever I question his mental strength. What effrontery !!!

Kawhi at his physical peak took a rubbish Raptors team to the finals and won a chip! Without Kawhi we can see the scam Siakam and the Raptors are! How about with the Spurs? Man these cats never made excuses because of team mates! Infact in the world of superstars, the excuse of team mates is not admissible let alone debatable. What are we even talking about here?

Do you have any idea how the league reveres Doncic? This man was projected to win the MVP even before the season started last season! Man just stop! There is no book where Doncic is disrespected because he is not American!!! He is ranked top 5 player in the league today on anybody’s list, so where is the disrespect? Embiid? You do realize Philly gave up its present and future to an African who can barely stay healthy! The entire City had trusted the process from day one and Embiid is the face of Philadelphia sports..Do you have any idea how much the Sixers and the entire City of Philadelphia have invested in Embiid? Man, this is about territory.. You earn it, nothing is given! Damian Lillard just turned 31, he is respected but he has to reel himself to the finals someway or somehow, he knows it..

Whoever wrote that stuff even had the nerve to bring up Shaq? Haaaaaaaaa!!! Make I leave that one because he is not anywhere close to the level of Shaw’s dominance..
Did you watch the pregame video by Spike Lee before game 4? I would encourage you to do that and focus on when Spike was flipping through jerseys and tell me what you see! That is respect.
You want to talk about players that have been disrespected? Talk about Charles Barkley, talk about Patrick Ewing, Talk about Isaiah Thomas, this man like KD was hated not even disrespected..Talk about D. Howard (there is even a debate questioning his HOF eligibility), talk about Penny Hardaway, Talk about David Robinson, Talk about “the Mail man (K. Malone)! There is no space in this world where Olajuwon is not respected.. There is no conversation about big men in the NBA where Olajuwon does not dominate the narrative.

Man, I know we are Africans and Nigerians by heritage but we are over doing this tin Na! Whatever Giannis achieves this season is what he is supposed to be doing! He is not an average Joe here! He is a superstar.. Make una stop with all these tins..No other superstar has enjoyed this degree of protection from the media.

Giannis is loyal? I get that but is he getting paid average Joe money? Giannis is getting paid a super max contract! The man is on a $228M contract with over $100M guaranteed and an annual salary of $25M in A SMALL MILWAUKEE and you are talking of disrespect!!!!!!!! what in God’s sacred name are we talking about here? The NBA is consciously looking to reward him for this decision. Let’s not act like he is getting paid peanuts or he restructured his contract to stay! The NBA has done its job by getting Giannis and the Bucks, a small market to the finals with a good chance of winning it all which will be great. Make no mistake, the league is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! If Giannis left, the Bucks would have been in tartars. That would be another small market that went crashing after its player left and the impact would affect the pockets of the league owners in their revenue sharing!

The annoying part be say, I am now seen as a Giannis hater because I expect a certain level from him..

Someone really asked what Giannis has achieved to be put on the same pedestal as the Slim Reaper. grin Which achievement is that? To go join a stacked team to win two titles and two FMVPs? wink Lol. If Giannis went and joined a team like GS we wouldn't even be having this discussion. As far as I'm concerned, Giannis has achieved everything KD achieved pre-Golden State. MVP, Finals appearance (even without a superstar), multiple all-stars and all-NBAs. Let's not kid ourselves please. I don't know why we love to give KD respect that he really hasn't earned. Trying to sneak in his name among the achievers grin Even Kawhi has achieved more in this league than KD

The thing is how many minutes will he even see. What's the point taking a player who won't even see 5 mpg. There were more productive centers the US could have taken that could have given them a solid 10-15 a game without being a major deficiency on a particular end of the court.

This one you're yarnin is tales by moonlight. Both games the Bucks had to come from behind so this strategy you keep talking about is clearly not working. When your support cast is shooting 4/20 at what point do they get hot? You want balance and not relying on a furious rally at the death and the other team shitting the bed to win. The Suns lost that game.

birdman:
Again, that is my point. If you look at the stats, it looks like he did well. But he cost the team several possesions where he tried to be a superhero. Ruined several plays where no one got touches. At one point he told even CP3 to clear out. And he missed on that possession. Again, stop the stat watching, and see the flow of the game. You get everyone hot, and the superstar can take over anytime while the supporting cast stays hot. Giannis made this mistake in game 2. Booker in Game 4.
Lol. This is such a dishonest take it's not even funny. If Booker didn't get that foul trouble that made him sit over 5 minutes I promise you the Bucks don't win that game.

What are you even talking about? You're not blaming CP3 who fumbled the game away and Ayton who didn't do enough on offense. You're blaming Booker. Oya when he was sitting why didn't the team perform? There is nothing like get everyone 'hot' in a road game. That is damn near impossible as your role players typically struggle on the road. This is common knowledge

Booker made no mistake. Unless you're saying Lebron made a mistake the night he scored 51 vs Warriors.

Which kind cap be this, the NBA helped them get to the finals, you dey joke nii?

That wasn't an article, it was actually a podcast and the guy was speaking nothing but facts, you talked about Luka... Same Luka the media is already portraying as a cancer and no other superstar would want to go play with him cos he whines and complains too much?
Same Luka the Yankee media is saying tray, ha and zion are better than?
This is gianisses first show up in a post season and rightly so, he's gone thru the ropes to develop the mental aspect of his game n get here, dude isn't even in his prime biko always remember that.

So in your heart of hearts you call that raptors team useless, like realkt? Between baba we Sabi basketball if that warriors team was injury free, we won't be having this conversation please.

And Bleep yes that Giannis block was better, Ask any bballer to compare and analyze the 2 abeg its not even up for debate.

This is not about me being nigerian or anything it's the obvious truth staring us in the face & giannis does it on both ends of the floor, you dey call booker that's practically useless when he's not scoring?

You dey make reference to am like he's been on the max contract since, biko when did he sigh it? He's been a 2time MVP and dpoy in the space of how many years and to you that's no achievement?

For rings at what age did lebum n Jordan win tgeyr firsts? Same lebum that hadd to form a super team to achieve that? Same kd that joined one of the best teams ever to win championships?

How many of all the aforementioned can perform like this despite being with an obvious injury? Not like it points to anything actually but if kahwi, lebum or kd was doing all he's doing in this series at 70% the media would be mad agog with over the roof accolades.

And I'll make boldly say trophies aside in terms of performance and skill set, Giannis would definitely be better than Shaq, Shaq is not blind or stupid to admit himself that Giannis is better than him and he's still getting better bruv.

If Giannis had a legit scorer and consistent performer by his side omo the story go diff.

Same kd that's shown he can't star without co-all stars by his side? But agenda must Agend please.

And abeg giannis is not protected by any stupid media, if anything he's always thrown under the bus.

Guess what the narrative is? Giannis’s block last night is better than LeBum’s block on Iggy! I could care less truthfully buttttttt…Are we still talking about disrespect of superstar Giannis? My brother, it doesn’t exist! Not at least in mainstream conversations.

Giannis is a protected specie.

cc-@joshbooo
Lool come on man. If you're talking higher stakes I agree. But degree of difficulty come on. Are you really comparing a chase down block to what Giannis did?

And as for the Giannis disrespect in mainstream conversations. Do you listen to Skip Bayless and Kendrick Perkins. Two people on two of sports biggest platforms are legit asking if Giannis is the batman on his own squad. A two time MVP and DPOY
