One time in 2016i was to travel to US from Cyprus but was denied boarding when I got to Turkey because my flight was going to pass through Canada and I needed a transit visa. Reason given was that the connecting airport can only be accessed by entering into Canada not just passing through. I had to get a new flight ticket that passed through Italy and I was allowed to travel to US. Mind you I spent 14hours at the airport after landing before my connecting flight and could not even go to the connecting area until after about 10hours. That's one.
When returning I passed through Amsterdam and transited through the airport there back to Turkey before connecting back to Cyprus.

Another time when coming to Nigeria I used Egypt Air and we transmitted in Egypt and even slept over in Egypt in a hotel provided by the airline. Although our passports were held at the airport and returned to us the next day to board our flight despite not having a visa.

I hope this helps you?

You can also mail your airline to be sure.

Thanks a lot for this. Actually, in my case, I wouldn't be leaving the Airport. The website appears as though one may be eligible for exemption and wouldn't require a visa (but it's not fully clear). The airline customer service isn't even helping. I hope I can see someone that experienced this in the past.

I have never had transit in two Schengen countries on a single trip before, and that's why I'm a bit confused.

See: https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/transit-schengen-visa/

Also, you can check under the exemption categories.

I have a valid Canada Visa, so perhaps I may qualify for an exemption.

Thanks

Good evening Nairalanders,

Is there an expiry time for visa after it has been issued? I mean is there a timeframe for one to travel after passport has be stamped and returned?

Thanks in anticipation for a response.

You are very right. Having a valid Canadian visa already should cover you. Plus that's your final destination.

Even without the bolded, an applicant can still be approved.. Click on this link https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/314#103458735 and read of the Moniker Kenthro's post.... No one knows the exact operation of IRCC... Peace

Anyone here remember that my female friend that I said we applied together last year and even did our biometrics November 2020 and my own study visa was declined this January while she was called for her medical same time and she did her medical in February I said her application has been on hold since then( over 4 months) no messages from IRCC and just today PPR dropped! Really happy for her because the wait alone na die, she didn’t even wait for an hour before she send her passport through DHL lol
What I just notice is if IRCC requests for IELTS and mybankstatement please try and provide it even though it’s optional, I think it gives an applicant a 90% chance of getting PPR
I didn’t provide it and my application was declined while she did IELTS and provided the mybankstatement , might not be the reason while mine was turned down but I think it will really help a lot to provide it.

Based on your 5 years Job experience as an Administrative Assistant, you can go for a PG. cert program in Human Resources management (HRM).

That being said, go through all contents in the link below, check each PG in HRM programs and the schools offering them to see the ones that fall within your 4 million budget, if you are able to see one with that tuition range, apply.

https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/244#103171762

Yes application for WINTER 2022 is possible. In fact that's the intake for Admission in most Canadian schools presently.

Await responses from the gurus to your other questions

Thank you very much, I appreciate.

Please is Ontario College Graduate Certificate same as PG. Cert?

Hey everyone,

I was supposed to resume May 2021 but I still do not have a decision from IRCC. My file was submitted feb 11 2021 but up till now, I have no update. My school did not have deferral option so I had to reapply for Jan 2022 session. The issue it that my school only makes admission decision at the end of August. Should I inform IRCC that I am waiting for new admission letter? Basically, right now IRCC only have my old admission letter of May 2021... Has anyone been in this situation before? Your advise will be appreciated, thank you.

Please don't inform ircc for now. As at this minute, you do not have a valid LOA. Let them work with what they have which was valid as at the time of submission. Biko, Edakun.

Hello.

You will need a Schengen Visa (not Schengen Transit Visa) to transit between two European countries. Your Canadian visa doesn’t exempt you. I suspect your flight is with KLM or Air France. A Schengen visa cost 40k and takes about 2-3 weeks to process.

You will need to reroute your flight to go through only one Schengen country, then you will be exempt from Schengen transit visa due to your Canadian visa. I confirmed this on Netherlands Immigration page. They have a software there that produces an answer based on the information provided.

I will advise you reroute your flight to only Amsterdam. Getting a Schengen visa may be cheaper than rerouting, but there is the possibility of missing your flight when checking in and checking out if the layover period is short.

If you haven’t booked your flight yet, avoid going to two European countries and transiting through US($140 transit visa)

Mrsecman:
Hi guys,

I have a question, please. I will be travelling from Lagos to Canada and have layovers in two Schengen countries (France and Amsterdam). Someone said I would need a visa to transit in between two Schengen countries. How true is this? Have you ever had layovers in two European countries before connecting to Canada or the USA?

I will appreciate it if anyone can confirm this. Thanks

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by Teau: 10:06pm On Jul 15, 2021
The rules were changed recently- sometime last year. I remember Air france and KLm publishing something like that on their site- traveling via two schengen country would require a transit visa but you dont need if its just one country you go through. You can call Air france or KLM to confirm.
The earlier the better.

Yes true. Since July 5. Fully vaccinated travelers are exempted from hotel quarantine

Hello Everyone, I wish to ask a question about this quarantine exemption. I’m fully vaccinated, and from the IRCC page I understand that I still have to make a quarantine plan.

Do I book a quarantine hotel and make 11 days booking for a quarantine Airbnb? Will I be able to get a refund from the hotels. I read through some hotel terms and conditions and going by the T&C, I won’t be able to cancel the bookings or request for a refund on the day I arrive.

Fully vaccinated ppl that have travelled recently, how did you manage the planning? I need tips, advice, instructions, whichever.

Thanks for your time.
