My wife who is a British citizen and also holds a Nigerian passport has now changed her name to her married name on her Nigerian passport. She has an indefinite leave visa which is still in her maiden name. Does anyone know if she needs to get the name on the visa changed before she can change the name on her British passport to her married name? She found information that she needed to change the name on her Nigerian passport first before the British one which is what we’ve done but we’re struggling to find anything about the indefinite leave visa. I was in similar shoes...used my maiden name until British passport then I changed. However my naija passport still in my maiden name which means it is not a requirement.

No you can obtain Naric instead. Slightly cheaper but can take longer. All you need is a copy of your transcript, certificate and letter from school stating you were taught in English.
