Being a child then, i remember how my pop and neighbors kept screaming and watching the games joyfully. Brasil had so many stars then, during the Atlanta '96 and they were so happy beating Nigeria.. After Nigeria ended up winning the game, the tears kept rolling down their eyes cos the Olympic medal was always a great achievement on the world scene.. Ranked after the World cup had always been the Olympics and it still is, but the moment the discussion about who's greater between Messi and Ronaldo rolled in, people began talking down the Olympics cos Messi already had it. In that same 2008 that Messi won it, so many great names played in it, but the fact that Messi won it with Argentina, the Olympics has become a useless competition.

I be United fan too.. Ronaldinho was in the same competition, a lot of great names and Messi still won the best player of the tournament. Sometimes, we think only the goals count in football, but we fail to see that this dude(Messi) does more than scoring goals. . He has the gifts of almost every area in football.

When Messi was asked to first win an international competition before he could lay claim to the title of G.O.A.T., what international competition was being referred to? The only ones he can participate in away from the World cup is the Copa which for some weird reason is now trash...The others are of the junior category which he played and won (U-20 and Olympics)...

Since you are saying Brazil doesn't give a damn about the Copa, can we then start rating the Olympics because prior to when Neymar led them to their first and only Olympic title, they have always assembled their best available team for the Olympics...
