PD is not relevant for interview, it is the day you DQ that will determine when you get your interview.

PD is only relevant for your case to become current, after that DQ date takes over.

Calculate your immigration age with the CSPA formula. If the result is within, you should remain in the F2A category.

You have 6months to use the visa and it is one-time use only. Then if you wanna stay out of the States, you do so each time for 6months, if you want to do 1yr, you must seek for the reentry permit as you depart. Anything outside these, you are risking your residence and begging to be readmitted with SB2 or something. If Embassy refuses, you start all over again or you fix Naija. Ask google for more!

The embassy will only schedule interviews for those that are DQ and that their PD is current.

The dates for the interviews is what only consular staff can answer cos who knows what rhyme or reason they use to set the dates or whether they use first come first served or if they prioritise some categories over others.

You will get to add your children to your case, but the DNA thing I think that depends on if they request for it.

The visa they put in your passport after approval is not the GC. You must enter the US before the expiry date on that visa. Once you arrive in the US it is then stamped. After that you wait for the actual GC which is a card , it will be posted to your address that you indicated.


Maintaining your LPR status has its own regulations, you are not expected to stay extended periods outside the US since it is to be your private residence. Some POE may quiz you, however it is only a judge that can cancel it.
Typically no more than 6months out of the US , if you want to spend up to a year outside the US then there's another application you can make so that you can do that officially and get a SB1 (returning resident visa)

I can’t say for sure, but when I had my F2A interview years ago, I was 24, and was given the visa. I remember this being a concern. I think if you are single with no children, they will give you.

But I agree with the 3 types of backlog..

It’s aight. We are already in the USA anyways...whenever they are ready is fine

1. My dad lives alone he actually filed for me and my siblings. We actually 3 and all of us have children the children in total are 7 plus us so we are all 10 in number. My dads income is 36,000 but we all have one joint sponsor my brother and his wife. My brother has two properties pls can it cater for the 10 of us ? My brother had 5 children in his house

2. Since we all have different I-130 and we all got different interview dates will it be judged according to the principal applicants and its derivatives? I mean my little sis who has only one child will she be granted the visa since my dad income can cater for her and her child or all us will be judged together?

Right now my eldest child (son) is married with 3 children and my questions goes like this. 1. Will my son and his spouse and children be allowed to travel with me together at the same time(as they are seen as my grandchildren). 2. If NO what steps will my son follow for him and his household to be eligible and please will these steps take more years for his Visa to be current.

After you have migrated, and you've become a citizen, you file F3 for him. You said you were married and unmarried.....
