royal231: Ignorance is a disease. See as you are now shifting goal post. Oga, each place has its own unique technique of casting. The benins own is unique to them. Stop trying to bring down their culture just to make yourself feel equal or superior to them 7 Likes 1 Share |

khadaffi: Obaseki never intended to convert anything for his personal property.. He has always maintained that the state will build a standard museum and these things coupled with other state art will be put there to generate IGR for the state.. |

This is a very simple way to handle the issue by the Governor, while people are dragging him up and down to stay clear, the state government negotiated with FG to take over, the same FG will hand the deal over to the governors preferred firm. Development is needed in Edo. A museum should be built in a new area . everything cannot be centralised in Ring road. |

Afam4eva:..... U no read am say them wan build traditional museums inside the palace abi? Abi the oba go carry that one go too? Obaseki is the governor of Edo state not the governor or Benin City..... The traditional leader of Benin city is the rightful person to keep hold of those items because they are proprietary to the Benin customs and traditions....... They are killing people everyday in Benin auchi road..... He should concern himself with that and leave traditional issues to the palace to handle 5 Likes 1 Share |

Mikecold: So, these Fulani Criminals and their hirelings like Lying Mohammed, wants to steal the Custom and Heredity of Benin people? The Traditionalists within the Benin Kingdom needs to lay a curse on anyone, especially Liar Mohammed, who participates in this sacrilegious attempt. The Artefacts belong to the Benin Kingdom, that is settled so why are the Fulanis trying to steal it? May anyone who tries to take those Artefacts, die a miserable death. Isse. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Obaseki is always senseless, as usual and l hope the good people of Benin have seen what their treachery in electin this foolish obaseki has caused? What does it cost Obaseki to keep quiet, let Omo'noba take Custody of the Artefacts first, then approach the Oba of Benin and suggest that they build a befitting Museum for the Artefacts, with the Royal House and Chiefs overlooking how it is managed and the Govt and Bini people making some money from its tourism? Now that he hs played into the hands of the greedy Northerners, how is he going to get the Artefacts from them, before they sell it to One Aran country? Wise people know that they should chase away the Fox first, before coming back to challenge the Chicken. Obaseki wont be Governor beyond 2024, but the royal institution of the Oba of Benin last sin perpetuity. Stoopid Governor. As for Lying Mohammed, the Gods will bend his mouth further, until it enters inside his ear! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Judolisco: What most of you dont understand are these: The Artefacts are Traditional Items, they are not State property They were stolen from the Palace, not the State House The Custodian of Tradition in Benin Kingdom, is the Omo'noba and the Palace is the location of that Tradition When someone steals your property and after much pressure, he decides to return it, is it for your neighbour or LGA Chairman to want to take custody of it? It is just greed on the part of Lying Mohammed, axting on behalf of these equally Evil Fulanis, that they want to appropriate what does not belong to them. Shame on Lying Mohammed and Buhari, for even daring to utter this nonsense. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Afam4eva: And if either federal or state government accept them and put it in an office belong to federal government located in Benin palace? We play unnecessary politics in naija Federal govt can put property thay belongs to her in any place that truly belong to Nigeria, even if it's Nigeria's mission house in Germany, so far it's in custody of Nigeria govt It would have be better if such artifacts store in Benin land. |

Judolisco: Oga can you even re-read what you wrote there? You yourself said all the pharaohs are now dead but in this case all the Obas are not dead. Do you know what you are proposing. It's like saying something you know that belongs to your great grandfather should be handed to the government. If the government needs it they should pay. Please think things for yourself, if your great grandfather was the owner of a treasure/property will you allow the government take it simply because your great grandfather is dead meanwhile you are still alive? Those properties were looted from the palace not from the people. It should be returned to the rightful owner. 1 Like |

Afam4eva: Trash. When you talk from an ignorant perspective. There are hundreds of artefacts at the Oba's palace. How many has he kept as his personal property? I don't blame people like you that talk like this. You probably come from a place where your king is handpicked by a political process or by ruling houses that gives room for manipulations. The oba of Benin and the palace is an institution. It is a real monarchy where the first son becomes oba when his father dies. The current oba of Benin is a direct descendant of Oba Ovonramwen who was oba when the British invaded. So you are saying this present oba can keep these artefacts that belonged to his great great great grand father as his personal property. Does this even make sense to you? The current oba wants to keep what belonged to his ancestor? Lol. It's like accusing you as first son of keeping something that belonged to your father. Who ought to keep it if not you? The summary of this matter is that It Should be returned to where it was stolen from. Period!!! 2 Likes |

CSTRR: Is Germany returning the artifacts to the Federal government of Nigeria or Edo state government? So you see, you can be emotional all you want but the truth is Edo state government has no claim to the artifacts. They belong to the Royal palace of Benin and if the palace can’t have them, the FG is legally empowered to take possession as the sovereign government. Edo state was not even in existence when the artifacts were stolen so why should they take possession when the rightful owner is still in existence? If the British had stolen them, would the governor of Edo state go into the palace to forcefully remove them into a private museum that he incorporated? |
