This does not limited to Lagos Alone. It can happen Anywhere this also happen in some part of Germany last, it even there more developed city. Can we say house built there are not well planned when building them?. This is Due to climate change, the weather is not predictable for now.

I agree with you, but the hype of that area is not worth it. Everything is 0. From security to access road, water, or serenity... It's all messed up.

Indeed there's nothing to brag about in this world. Just a few hours rain, see the level of damage. What if it now rains for a day or 2 consistently?
Lord show us mercy.

Those with the latest cars weren't spared as they abandoned it to find their way home.

Anyone who doubts what BABA did in the times of Noah should repent and ask for Mercy.

Folks! What we are seeing now all over the world is " Testing ! Testing" GOD is testing the Mic all over the World.

If you Have hope on Government, technology, your Pocket or whatever, you are totally missed it!
This Ship is Sinking !
The Life Boat is JESUS Christ.
Just as Noah and his family were Saved in the ark. JESUS is set to Harpazo His Children outta here. If you are left behind, it is unfortunate.
All that is Needed a Genuie surrenderness to JESUS Christ.

Bro, Jesus Christ can not save anyone the way you are putting it..
Only genuine repentance can save a soul, be you Hindu, Buddhist, Jew, muslim, pagan whatever..
The almighty God respects all religions, cos all religions are stitched into the same fabric that clothes divinity.
It is Simple. Anyone with much positive spiritual values in their soul would be taken, the rest would be left behind.
Jesus or no Jesus, Buddha or no Buddah.

Pardon my French but you need to quit sounding like a fanatic.

This one goes beyond having a good drainage system, the place is below sea level so they will continue to have this problem

I agree with you that the power of water knows nothing about...bla bla bla.. esp with very poor drainage on roads.
Cos that Friday was an unfortunate and unforgettable day for me.
As I drove through ozumba Mbadiwe headed towards toll gate, my car got submerged in the flood that the water seeped into it, reaching to almost the gear level...

The earth is in a convulsion wth this kind of rains and floods..
Eiya .....it wasn't funny thou. Hope your car is okay now?

As global warming melts the polar ice caps, sea levels worldwide will rise, swallowing up coastal cities like Miami Florida, Mumbai, India and Lagos Nigeria. It is so ironic that the most expensive landed property in West Africa is located in places like Lekki, and the fabled Banana Island, yet, in a few short years, most buildings in those low-lying coastal areas of largely "reclaimed" land, are likely to wind up submerged under twenty feet of seawater, where they will become home to grateful fish and assorted other marine life.

It is very odd that Nigeria's moneyed elite are investing so much of their net worth on the purchase and development of reclaimed lagoon sea bed that will soon be part of the sea once again and forever

Nigeria is an Over priced shitty city/country without good road stable light drainage, and water good honest securities, miscreants politicians

This where the poorest people stay in Dubai

Population of UAE is not up to 1.5'm. Do the maths as regards to per capita and you won't be comparing Nigeria to UAE.
Compare Nigeria's poor Neighborhood with India's or Brazil.

Ha ha ha a lot of angry people on Nairaland these days. Enjoy your weekend, and maybe try to get laid. You sound so agitated and upset.

Anyway, I do agree that science is not for everyone, meaning that people who never read are best left to enjoy their bliss. Hope you get better.

Because the elites in Nigeria are hardworking when it comes to making money but when it comes to building legacies with their monies, they're lazy. That's why the vast array of slums in other places in Lagos and other economically viable cities are left alone while everyone is rushing to the underwater environment even though ordinary good drainage system, we cannot construct.

You see, our problem is not just the government, Nigerians themselves are quite poor in thinking when it comes to building good structures for residences etc
