duro4real: So, you're comparing an obscure town in Germany to a major district in Lagos, Nigeria? You just compared Germany to Nigeria because of flooding? |

Righteousness2: A major reason this country is underdeveloped is because we tend to link all problems to religion. Just so you know, you are portraying Almighty God as a villain while coercing people to religion. 3 Likes |

traihit: Interesting viewpoint. A herd mentality appears to motivate Nigeria's moneyed class. Follow the herd. If the herd is building homes and offices in areas subject to devastating flood inundation, build with the herd. If the herd is driving around in Rolls Royces that make them prime targets for kidnappers, follow the herd in a Rolls Royce and damn the consequences. If the herd is grazing on gourmet food to the point where they become clinically obese and thereby reduce their lifespans by decades, follow the herd and feast with gluttonous abandon until a body mass of 300 pounds is attained, then follow the herd to the hospital for treatment or obesity related death. 2 Likes |

Jakumo:I know nothing about the bible. Just be watchful this period. That's all. All that is happening presently is recorded in the bible. But, because we just want to be naive about it, we stick to the science of things. This world isn't yours, prepare yourself one day to leave it. Theres a thin line between science and religion. Be wise. Science has its limits. But everything is spiritual. But we just play cowardice to it, because of the pleasures of the world 1 Like |

Drwinz: Flood is normal in Lagos because of the flat terrain which is almost at Sea level. During IBB era, a popular musician released a record on Lagos flooding - You say you no know you go know, when time don come you go know, water dey Ajegunle, water dey maroko, etc. The flood this time around is caused by drainage blockages. All the drainage system at Broad street and all the streets at Lagos Central Business District are blocked before the raining season. The same thing is applicable at Lekki, Amuwo Odofin, in fact, there is a collapse of environmental sanitation system in Lagos. Drainage system is blocked everywhere in Lagos since AMBODE era. Every street at VI have blocked drainage system. AMBODE era created a dead sewage and environmental sanitation system in Lagos. SANWOOLU and his deputy have not cleared the backlog environmental sanitation liability left by AMBODE government. I see dirty and blocked gutters everywhere in Lagos. The recent flooding is not because the sea is filled to the ground level, hence the heavy downpours is at sea level, NO. It is because the water route to sea is blocked. SANWOOLU and his deputy should focus on clearing the drainage system. Righteousness2, this is not a religion issue, but environmental engineering and physical planning issue. I was at Lakeview Phase 1 estate, Amuwo Odofin on Friday. From Apple Junction to Okota, it was a sea. Drainage blockages. Some people even thought Lagoon was trying to claim the area . Four years of drainage blockages caused this problem. 2 Likes |

One day, water might permanently submerge some parts of Lagos. Those who live around areas like these should be very worried. I hate water with every fibre of my being. This is not living. 1 Like |
