birdman: , this your comment brings back memories. Bowen na winch (not witch), the guy had a way of being dirty but somehow will always stay within 5 fouls for the game. When a coach like Pop is confident of leaving you 1v1 with Kobe, Tmac, Carter etc, it speaks to the fact that he got the job done, but the guy na hitman make I no lie. |

birdman:Perkins is a donkey and proof ESPN only care about engagement whether good or bad instead of actual intelligent punditry. Compare him to Acho on Fox and the gulf is significant |

A40:Emmanuel Acho is so intelligent and even when you don’t agree with some of his takes, he makes a good compelling argument..He is sooooo underrated.. So is the show Speak for Yourself with Marcellus Wiley! I am happy Acho left ESPN.. He is going to be really big in a few years.. |

joshboo:They really cannot hide their Xenophobia. These are the same people that will cry when a black man doesn't get a coaching opportunity. I have no problem with fans being fans but when actual players that know what it entails to get to this point talk in this manner you shake your head. Giannis was one of 5 players to drop 30+pts and 5+ asts with 0 turnovers in Finals history it's clear that Giannis will win FMVP unanimously barring a disaster and these clowns will have more reason to cry |

Roland17:For me to look past his Bronsexuality and KD hate shows that he is exceptional. He and Wiley have great chemistry and when you watch their debates you can see how far ahead they are of the competition on their network and other networks. He is already getting noticed though. He has won an Emmy and is up for another I don't even watch First Take anymore for example, I'm tired of seeing Stephen A dump on Max and Max taking it like a chump. You're a 48 year old man ffs |

| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 8:39pm On Jul 18, 2021 |
A40:It’s hard not to find a Bronsexual on mainstream TV. There are way too many timid analysts who speak about sports, especially in basketball. I really love your comment about Stephen A and Max because at this point it is no longer a debate but mostly deliberations or Stephen A dominating debates. Max lacks the personality especially with confidence in debating Stephen A. Infact the bulk of the talking points/ highlights have come from Stephen A who is now too comfortable. I used to be a passive watcher/ listener of Acho but over the last month, I have gotten closer to ardent. I like how he articulates his points and presents them. I may disagree with his takes but presentation and depth of research, not necessarily analytics makes me listen. I understand he would be getting his own solo show soon and that makes me happy.. I love to see young people progress.. The funny thing about SFY is that they don not even have a moderator like their competition. Marcellus leads/ anchors but it does not deter his ability to come through. I do miss Cari Champion though! Way better than Molly.. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 3:09pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
Roland17:Omo i don defend lefraud tire for this thread but omo be like many of this main stream media guys dey on him payroll, fans dey joke about am but i won't be suprised is it's done literally. Then those bums in ESPN they always do the most in every sport, they stir up controversy solely for engagements and ratings nothing more, cos most of thier takes no dey always make sense. Max kellerman is smart but be like na him dem dey always give the mumu script to always look n sound stupid since SAS is their biggest star . The guys wey dey analyze football are worse, it's all for ratings for them.Imagine max saying he trusts Trae young over steph, like even if na ment sef him ment suppose get limit, but at the end of the day anything for ratings & clout is what they care about. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:25pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
SmooshCHN:I never said a thing like that. Point me to where I said it. If you can't, it's all allegations. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:49pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
joshboo:Baba Na the reason why I Dey always tell you make no dey take some of their takes serious. The whole idea is to create a buzz and ratings for their network. Sometimes it works, other times it back fires like the whole Ohtani thing wen SAS spit that caused a huge uproar before the MLB All Star games. When you compare what they are doing to what TNT with Chuck/Shaq/Kenny and the GOAT EJ are doing them you would realize those guys at ESPN are nothing but clowns. It’s one to have a important to critical debate about player comparison and it’s another thing to devalue and disrespect a player during that conversation. No one in the world of basketball will accept Trae is better than The Don, Infact during the Hawks series, at no time did anyone on TNT entertain that kain debate, na that one suppose make u sabi say ESPN na clowns. As far as LeBum goes, it’s one thing to revere and respect what he has done for basketball but to not have the courage to call him out is hypocrisy! Example, the Lakers had a terrible post season with LeBum posting shameful numbers but somehow mainstream media found a way to make the narrative about AD being the problem because he could not stay healthy. Credit to LeBum, he has built a very strong network along with Rich Paul and that controls a lot of what happens. Big ups for settling scores with @birdman.. |

CP3 says they anticipated a miss. Even Giannis did. You better win this series. You better win this series, because we'll tell you something we've always anticipated. ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 7:34pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
Roland17:Omo no hard feelings, whatever happens or is said on this thread stays on this thread. With the othani saga, same with Giannis n other foreigners coming to dominate them on home soil it's always hard for them to accept that reality so they stir us nonsense controversies and all to pass their message. I obviously don't take those guys seriously, only a fool would tbh cos it's absurd their takes on so many things in that ESPN. Them dey leverage on the exclusive rights to games to continue being irrational. Lefraud haa done really well for himself between my love for him asides jis greatness na because we be birthday mates, but ESPN pushing one yeye agenda that he'll be the goat once he wins one more ring is preposterous. The sole ring dirk won is greater to me as compared to all rings LBJ has won & the rings KD be win. mk we see who chief assembler go wan recruit to LA next season again. |

I have a feeling that if/when Giannis wins this championship, there'll be more talk of KD's championships (or lack thereof) than this one . We'll be here for it. We'll be here to talk about how Giannis resisted the urge to form a superteam and led a bunch of farmers to a championship while KD ran to join a 73-win team in desperate search of a ring, after failing for several years while playing with prime Westbrook ![]() |

| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:30pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
steady986:No doubt. Lebron and Kawhi's names will be thrown in there too. Just last year, Giannis was being flogged in the media. Couldnt make free throws, no jumpshots, cant read double teams and they lost disgracefully in the first round I think. One year later the cat has a serviceable fadeaway, makes his free throws and is unguardable. All this without any superstar additions - just decent PG and good defensive minded PF. He definitely will make a lot of people look bad. You can always argue that without injuries, the super teams like Clippers, Lakers and Nets would have been in the finals, but that is why we play the games |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 11:38pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
birdman:Agree with all you say. I just want to add that for super teams one risk of building them is a lack of depth. So you can get all the stars but if one or two of them gets injured you have already sacrificed your depth to build said super team. So for this season the injury bug hit big time, which was to be expected because of the schedule and last season bubble. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 12:56am On Jul 20, 2021 |
birdman:Asides the soft Era he's playing in, that's another strain on LBJ's career, the only fought for was the one in cavs. Said it b4 Dirks rings's greater than KD'S any day any time. Between the media bin dey bring up all that yeye narrative cos they wanted him to jump ship to the bigger markets. Thank God he didn't, he's literally shut all of them up and proved them wrong. Between the media can be so fickle pointing out to injuries and bleh but dem dey always disregard the fact that the bucks are without their starting shooting Guard, but cos na small market team and the guy no get name he's totally inconsequential. |
