This man is God's sent to Ebonyi people. He actually constructed a road project from Abakiliki to my small village of Amaoja umudomi in Onicha LGA. He is the best governor ever in Ebonyi state. His many road projects are almost 50years lifespan.

What I like about this man's model of development is the 'bricks and mortar', direct labour system he adopts. There is no doubt he has been able to stretch his resources by ignoring big name multinationals and blue chip engineering firms with their pricey bills resulting from a tendency to capital flight.

This is a model the Federal government and governors of Niger-Delta states particularly should study. How to get optimise their infrastructural budgets. I am sure if a peer review is done it will be found out that the cost of Governor Wike's half a dozen or so 'flyovers' will exceed that of an almost double number built in Ebonyi.

Those in Ebonyi may not look too nifty and do not carry a big 'badge' but they are functional which should be the way poorer nations begin their development. The next governor after Umahi will have a solid platform of competencies within that state to really accelerate development if he or she is interested.

How I wish this was the model with which our airports, seaports, rail lines and power infrastructure was handled. No frills. Just silently, efficiently and without leaving huge financial potholes behind.

The terrain of Rivers state and Ebonyi are different and as such this 'bricks and mortar' flyover built by local contractors might be functional in Ebonyi but maybe result in a disaster in Rivers.

Tho much more expensive but these multinationals ensure peace of mind, durability and better aesthetics. Just like a Mercedes Benz comparison with Toyota. Both are functional but aren't of same class.

You should take a visit to that hill. Last year December 31 (my first time to travel that path), I went for my woman sister's wedding, I past that hill and it was terror. You don't have to be online and comment by few pictures u saw. As the vehicle was defending the hill, my breath stopped.

We should appreciate the governor for identifying that need and putting it to his capital project. It's rare to get a governor who can identify the need of his people and capture it in capital project.

NOTE: People from Ohafia axis of Abia state traveling to Enugu, Anambra access travel through that route.

Construction of Ugwu-iyere by the Governor (Umahi) is a great achievement to the people of Edda,, lots of lifes has been lost at that particular territory
