Please I need your urgent opinion on this Honda civic as regards fuel efficiency and maintenance
lagusboyyy:

*Its a durable car
*Low on fuel consumption
*Not a favorite for the men of the underworld like its CORO rival
*Its also a good looking ride with nice interior.

Check the above response from lagusboyy and in addition from personal experience I drove the 2007 make. Good car with good fuel economy. It has low ground clearance every other thing falls in line with what lagusboyy has said.

Is the Volkswagen TIGUAN a good SUV buy? l don't see too much of this SUV around
If you are in Europe, America or Asia' YES!!!

If you are in Nigeria' NO!!!

There are not many skilled auto technicians that can handle the SUV.

To avoid regrets later, i will advice you stick with regular SUVs that can still do the job perfectly.

I will personally suggest TOYOTA HIGHLANDER.

ES350 07 had transmission issues same with Camry 07 had transmission issues evident online from reviews yes some unit may be lucky to escape it
Please what's your input on buying a 2008/09 camry v6 vs v4 of the same car model ...
And is the transmission issues of the camry limited to the 07?

And can it be avoided
?
By using the right Transmission oil, constant changing etc...
Thanks

My only advice to you will be to avoid 2007-2009 Toyota Camry i4 cars cause they are prone to oil leaks and transmission problems buy the V6 engine, then go for regular maintenance or engine checks and u won't have any problems

Then buy the 08 and 09 with good inspection score, use a good full synthetic oil with the recommended transmission fluid.

The compressor of the i4 also fails easily and the replacement is expensive

Take number 2

Number 1 is too common and boring and high chance if being vandalized.

3 is higher than your budget.

What do you think about Nigerian Used Civic 2004-06 as very first car?
Cost of maintenance, availability and cost of parts, reliability (akpọ aza). To be used majorly for city commute in SouthWest State capital (not Lagos) all these in comparison with corolla of same year

It's a good car. You're good to go. Ensure it's not abused.

Forget Mercedes and Lexus.

Look at a 2012 Acura TL.
Or a 2016 Accord.

I drove a Friend's 2016 Accord EXL v6,omo I couldn't talk. The interior, the power and everything abt it beats that of Camry.

May be tempted to ditch my Camry for an accord

Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by green10119(m): 12:46am On Jul 23, 2021
Was happy when i found this section! So i have been majorly confused about the best SUV to go for since i know next to nothing about cars and this would be my first.

Options:
1. Mercedes-benz ml 350 - 08 to 13 first love (Benz)

2. Toyota highlander 2011 to 2016

3. Toyota camry 09 to 12 as least option if i must.

Please break it down for me like am 5.

Thanks

Highlander more popular, easy to use and maintain but the Benz has better build quality, better turning radius, sleek interior and exterior.

Benz with AWD parts are expensive

Okay but here is my question, how often do they break down? For example would it cost me 100k to fix a problem every month or just 100k to fix or buy a part every 2 to 3 months? (Benz)

I have been looking at Highlanders a lot on Copart and to be honest i don't like the design or the fat looking interior seats.

Need to understand how often a benz would drag me to the mechanic workshop and what an average fix would cost me. Also from 08 to 13 ml 350 the one with the best rating.

Thanks and sorry for asking too many questions lol

100k a month may be close or exceed depending on the damage and what workshop you patronize grin but normally it's oil change and some small maintenance expensive which should occur very few times a year not monthly.

The ML is a good car to own especially one with good maintenance history and recommended service fluids used.

For year don't really know my former boss had a 08 model and rarely gives problem. The ML has been a reliable Benz model
