Even the Itsekiris where under the Bini. Reno is being smart by half for saying the Itsekiri and the Binis. It was actually the Binis.

The Bini empire was the only one in Nigeria the Portuguese and later the British referred to as ‘Great’ in all of their text. Its influence spanned into the south west to present day lagos, ondo & ekiti, beyond the river Niger up to the kalabari and even cross rivers.

Its was for the untainted loyalty of the king in calabar to the Bini throne that he choose to be banished there by the British.

Very informative and sober reflective...but all the same, the Bible says in the book of Acts, God has made of all nations, one blood.

Hmmm. Just like to shake table. I appreciate reading about the origin of the foreign names in Warri but don't want this kind of stuff on slavery that do not bind us shared in this manner in our history books now that history is back in the school curriculum.
More studies are required because we are in the era of history revisionism especially from that same axis of Nigeria he mentioned.
We have no right to distort history.
No matter how unpleasant it is, we must tell the truth for posterity and new generations coming.

Mumu!!!!
Why are you insulting a person obviously more intelligent than yourself?
Can't you see that the person he replied knew nothing about the reason the names sounded Igbo?
What is wrong in telling the truth about history?

No matter how unpleasant it is, truth must be told.

Food for historians.

In another news learn how to earn $100 weekly with Whiteboard Animation for just a token mentorship of $20 or it's equivalent in Naira.....you will be held by the hand for a 4weeks training towards the mastery and earning even before the end of the training period.
If you have access to Internet + browsing gadgets and you ain't earning via your online activities in this times of economic crisis in Nigeria then you are very unwise.
For mentorship or capital investment purposes kindly reach out via the facebook ID on my profile's personal text with a message stating your interest & NL moniker.

I mean they think they are more related to bini's than the South East igbos, they claim to be a distinct ethnic group, especially the Ika, ikwerri

What brought Ikwerre to the topic. Igbos see Ikwerres in their dreams.

Every tribe in the south have claimed to have once kept Igbo slaves in times past. Na wah, Igbos una see una life??. Every 10kobo tribe once had Igbo slaves.

Point of correction: an average Bini or Edo man is not meek. Definitely not meek or cowardly or slow to action. I know this clearly as an Edo man myself cheesy

Please don't do this.
Everyone is now freeborn, don't refer to anyone in this era as slaves.

You cannot dump a whole people because one or two offended you.

You don't see the bright side. We can now lay claim on Warri..
He wished they had Igbo slaves. Now our Job is to accept and lay claim on Warri like we are already doing on Bini.
When words can't prove points, they will be forced to fight us. Something we will accept and gain more land.
Remember, Warri has sea front and oil.
Think ahead

Sometimes good talk comes late. There is a reason why this issue is more sensitive that it should have been. Nothing can change that now.
