I think helicopter gunship (attack helicopter) will do a better job. Sometimes the terrorists use motorcycles. The essence of this is to make aerial bombardment of thier position less effective. Bombing thier position using missile from drone when they are scattered all over the place on motorcycles won't be effective. Most of these drones are equipped with less than 6 missiles. The one we bought from China can only carry two missiles. We have some drone that can carry 4 missile from China already. But attack helicopter carries varieties of weapons. Guided missile, Unguided missile, Canon e.t.c .

The Russian MI-24 (The night hunter) can do the job pretty well. Also the US Cobra helicopter can also do the job.

I agree with you 100%. The Tucano fighter jet will be effective against the terrorists. But i still feel that 4th generation fighter will be able to protect the country against terrorists now and even in the future. We need to start equipping our air force with latest weapon. Because we don't the kind of security challenges that we would face in future. The time to prepare for the future is now. The JF-17 is a good example. It is a 4th generation fighter jet and it is also cheap.

Aircraft such as the F16, F15, f18 are supersonic fighter/ attack aircraft, the attacks are meant for SAM batteries, bunkers, troops, Mobile targets and many more, they were actually designed as fighter jets with attack capacity. One of the most successful attack aircraft is the f15, the most successful fighter is still the f15 Eagle. Imagine Boko Haram are shooting down Alpha jets which fly at a max speed of 994 km/h compared to these propeller driven super Tucano which fly at a max speed of 593 km/h! Our pilots would be sitting ducks in these turboprop planes. Speed is an advantage in modern warfare sir! Besides 3rd generation fighter attack aircraft hitting targets at surgical precision with laser guided bombs and all other advanced weaponry.
