Your response denotes the very lack of understanding I am referring to. Only GOD mercifully reveals truth!

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

This was written by Paul as a letter to Timothy!

Yet, on the same subject (man's inherent inability to understand the word of GOD without revelation/being taught of GOD). the Lord JESUS, the CHRIST says in pertinent part:

"And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand."” - Luke 8:10

Do you even know the context of the above verse?

No Bible verse to support you?

Deuteronomy 23:2 "A BASTARD shall not enter into the Congregation of the Lord"

AntiChristian:

How many slaves did Jacob marry just like Abraham? Was there any casting out of Children?

Abraham is settled then, you just want to appreciate the dissimilarity with Jacob.

And the dissimilarity lies in The Instruction (The Law).

Genesis 17:16. "I will bless her, and give thee A Son Also OF HER;"

Such a Law was not commanded Over, Isaac nor Jacob nor Esau.

Only Upon Abraham!

Antichristian, I've shared this with you before now:
It is very clear from very early Islamic sources that Isaac was the son of promise.
Which do you want to believe: the earlier sources or the later sources? Hagar had no problem with conceiving. Sarah on the other hand had problem with conceiving. So, if a promise is to be given will it be to Hagar and by extension Ishmael or to Sarah and by extension Isaac? This is simple logic. Why is it so difficult for you guy to accept? You guys seem bent on changing history.

If majority of earlier Islamic scholars believed that it was Isaac but later ones claimed it was Ishmael, who should you believe?

Again, between Ishmael and Isaac whose report in the Koran and circumstances of birth shows that he is the child of promise? What does the Koran which you claim to believe say about Ishmael on this matter?

What we see in the Koran is the glad tidings about Isaac, We blessed him and Isaac, etc. Can you show us where Ishmael was referred to in similar terms BY NAME?

See what the Koran proves:
Sura 11:69-73
Sahih International
And certainly did Our messengers come to Abraham with good tidings; they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and did not delay in bringing [them] a roasted calf.

But when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not. We have been sent to the people of Lot."

And his Wife was standing, and she smiled. Then We gave her good tidings of Isaac and after Isaac, Jacob.

She said, "Woe to me! Shall I give birth while I am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is an amazing thing!"

They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allah ? May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable."

In the koran Abraham's relationship with Sarah is the one HIGHLIGHTED. Not the one between him and Hagar.

If Ishmael was the FOCUS why didn't the Koran emphasise it?

Again in the Koran we have: "we gave him.......Isaac" and "we blessed him and Isaac". Why no specifics like these for Ishmael?

In chapter 37
V. 101 says that "we gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy"
Then going down
V. 112 says "And we gave the the glad tidings of Isaac...."
Then
V. 113 goes on to say "We blessed him and Isaac...."

Do you see "glad tidings" in v.101 and also "glad tidings" in v.112?
And do you see that even though no name is stated in v.101 we now see vv. 112 & 113 now makes it explicit.

On credibility of the biblical position:
The Bible narrative was written centuries before Islam. There was therefore no need for anyone to think that the story in the Bible was doctored for any reason. None.

I guess you're trying very hard to convince yourself against clear evidence that it must be Ishmael that the Koran is referring to when no clear statement is made about him in the book.

We don't accept falsehood. Nothing was clear as you said as the two opinions were available. The Isaac's view was predominantly from those reverts to Islam.

If the story was true then it would have been consistent with Jacob and his sons!
Tell us about the 12 Children of Jacob. Jacob had two wives (Leah and Rachel) and two slave concubines (Bilhah and Zilpah).

Leah had four sons Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah (female).
Rachel gave Jacob her handmaid, Bilhah, (copying Sarah of Abraham), Bilhah gave birth to Dan and Naphtali
Leah then gave her handmaid Zilpah to Jacob in marriage so that Leah could raise more children through her. Zilpah gave birth to Gad and Asher.
Rachael too later had Joseph and Benjamin.
The children of Bilhah and Zilpah were never casted out nor treated like Ishmael despite the same trend. This is prejudice and injustice of the highest order! We always hear of the 12 sons of Jacob/Israel not 8 authentic sons of Israel and 4 outcast sons!

If majority of earlier Islamic scholars believed that it was Isaac but later ones claimed it was Ishmael, who should you believe?

Can you make a list of those with the opinions here and tell us how it is the majority? And who told you majority opinion can't be wrong? The son who was sacrificed is not a creedal/weighty matter in Islam.

Again, between Ishmael and Isaac whose report in the Koran and circumstances of birth shows that he is the child of promise? What does the Koran which you claim to believe say about Ishmael on this matter?

So you mean Ishmael should be mentioned like Isaac, so that it can be a story book like the Bible? The sacrificed son is not important in Islam. What is important is the sacrifice and the test that Abraham passed.

In chapter 37
V. 101 says that "we gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy"

ANTICHRISTIAN, Pls show us in the Quran where Muhammad/Allah said it was Ishmael that was to be sacrificed or keep silent forever.

If the Bible comes out plainly on this subject and Quran does not, in a matter as serious as this, an event that Muslims emulate all over the world by slaughtering rams, don't you think that something is fishy?

How can Allah revealed almost all things to Muhammad, giving him the mother of all books, ( according to Muslims belief ) and then omitted one of the very important aspects of Muslims faith, reducing it to hearsays and speculations, that the Muslims have to rely on Addiths and other sources like the Bible which they claim has been corrupted ?

If your Quran cannot authoritatively tells us the name of the son that was to be sacrificed, don't you think it's better to keep quiet ?

How can Allah ask you to sacrifice rams every year without telling you categorically the name of the Son that was to be sacrificed?

This is just one amongst many defects of Islam !

Again, there is no reason to think that the stories in the Bible, written thousands of years before Islam, were doctored for any reason.

God was starting a new thing through Abraham. That story is clear from the Bible narrative. (Even Islam recognizes that fact). God had earlier REJECTED Abraham's request to have his servant Eliezer as his heir. God later made it CLEAR to Abraham that a new thing was starting: God changed his name and that of that of his wife - his from Abram to Abraham and hers from Sarai to Sarah. God then promised them a son, and INSPITE of Abraham's plea for Ishmael to be his heir God said 'No'. God went on to recomfirm to Abraham that His covenant would be with Isaac. God again later on appeared to Abraham and reiterated his covenant promise of a son through Isaac.

It was after all these that God now tested Abraham. What makes the test serious is that this was the son God had promised to perpetuate his covenant through. NOWHERE in the Bible is Ishmael the son of promise. NOWHERE in the Koran is Ishmael the son of promise. God's covenant with Abraham was to be through Isaac not Ishmael. It is not about first born son. It is about the son of promise. Even in Israel's history first born were not necessarily the choice for privilege.

When Abraham died, according to the Bible, Isaac and Ishmael buried him. And Ishmael's lineage was still listed in the Bible: Again showing that there was no cover up in the Bible.

While God never downplayed the fact that Ishmael was Abraham's son and was going to bless Ishmael because of that, He (God) made it clear that the covenant was going to be through Isaac not Ishmael. Just as God did not reject Abraham's son via Hagar the children that came through Jacob were not also disregarded. Because God was starting with Abraham and Sarah he made sure that not even the devil would interfere with his plan.

So, the test of Abraham with the SON OF PROMISE - Isaac - is more credible than with any other person.

Can it be Isaac?

"And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham:... Take now thy son thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of." (Gen. 22: 1-2).

In this statement, on the one hand, it is being said that God had asked for the offering of the Prophet Isaac, and on the other, that he was Abraham's only son, whereas the Bible itself, at other places, conclusively states that the Prophet Isaac was. not the only son of the Prophet Abraham. Consider the following statements of the Bible:

"Now Sarai, Abram's wife bore him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abraham, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abraham hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abraham's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abraham had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived." (Gen.16: 1-4)

"And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael." (Gen 16: 11)
"And Abraham was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abraham." (Gen 16: 16).

"And God said unto Abraham, `As for Sarai thy wife,..... I will bless her and give thee a son also of her:..... and thou shalt call his name Isaac...... which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year And Abraham took Ishmael his son and......every male among the men of Abraham's house; and..... circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. " (Gen. 17: 15-25).

"And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. " (Gen. 21: 5).

This brings out the contradictions of the Bible. It is evident that for 14 years the Prophet Ishmael was the only son of the Prophet Abraham. Now if the offering had been asked of the only son, it was not of Isaac but of Ishmael, for he alone was the only son; and if the offering of Isaac had been asked, it would be wrong to say that the offering of the only son had been asked.

Again, there is no reason to think that the stories in the Bible, written thousands of years before Islam, were doctored for any reason.

There can be reasons. The more the years a book spend the lesser you can accurately trace it's source. For example, if we agree Moses wrote the Pentateuch, who did he give it to after his death? How was it passed down till it was collated. There are no details of those who handled the books of the bible and their credibility. Even the copyists have no records.

God was starting a new thing through Abraham. That story is clear from the Bible narrative. (Even Islam recognizes that fact). God had earlier REJECTED Abraham's request to have his servant Eliezer as his heir. Stop playing with words. I only asked why God approved the fertilization of Ishmael if He wasn't going to approve him on earth? He could have prevented his conception? birth? His growing up?

We have no children of covenant in Islam or child of promise as all human come with their own destiny. Both Isaac and Ishmael are Prophets we pray for after mentioning their names as the sacrifice is no more important than being a command Abraham had to obey and we follow this too as our Prophet commanded.

So in this light, why wasn't four of the sons of Jacob sent out like Ishmael?

Why 12 Children of Israel instead of 8?

I explained this in my post above.
Isaac was the SON OF PROMISE not Ishmael.
God CHOSE to establish his COVENANT through Isaac.
That is very CLEAR from the Bible.
The covenant was then to go through Jacob's line such that subsequently everyone in that line became a beneficiary of the Promise.
You can see that even Esau was excluded from the promise even though he was the FIRST son of isaac.
(It is interesting that you never argued for Esau. Is it part of your being deceitful?)

If you follow the Bible narrative you can see things for what they are. But if you keep looking for a way out to justify your position, you will definitely not find it in the Bible. You have to look somewhere else.

And there is another couple a' mistakes, you mistake excess acquisitions to be riches.

Secondly, if you Truly knew God, you would know that souls like Dangote are automatically cut off from the Kingdom of God.

"Camels will surely go through the eye of the needle before him".

From this your verse, how many of your GO will enter heaven?

Dangote will enter heaven if his faith remains true till the end. You're not in control of paradise.

Even your Jesus said it's not all those who call him lord will enter paradise.

It's not only about riches! Whoever Allah destined to be rich will be rich!

Ishmael was sent out but the slave sons of Jacob were left alone.
Allahu Akbar!
So? undecided

God made a Covenant with Abraham that it was through His son with Sarah that He would wrought His plan. undecided

Abraham had many other sons too and they didn't make the cut either. So? undecided

Fairness! Equity!

Doesn't this apply in the Bible?

I meant the title of the only son or first son being used for Isaac.

What fairness? What equity? The bible God is not the Quran's allah that He would consult Man's feelings in that which He plans.undecided

Abraham had about 5 or 6 sons in total. What would a fair/equitable plan have looked like for you in this? undecided

Interesting! Titie of the first son undecided

Well, what about Sarah's title in this then? She was the first wife of Abraham and had been with Him from the beginning, didn't she deserve to be the one to birth the promised child? undecided

Are you certain equity and fairness is what you are really concerned about in this? undecided

They have never been my GO.

From this Law, None, at all!

Faith to Who? If his faith was in God, He would have surely known that excess acquisitions, is the portion given to the dead!

Very True!

grin As I said earlier, you make the error of thinking that Excess Acquisitions, is riches!

I wasn't looking at the 5/6 sons since at the time of sacrifice they were only two.

God of the Bible had already made Isaac the only son when he wasn't the only one.

Where's the equity and fairness in this?

This may have been okay if they were 6 at the time of sacrifice and the title of "only son" wasn't used when there were two sons sired by Abraham.

So who granted him the riches?

Satan!

Can you say the same with Job!

Job sure had great wealth too! Will he enter hell like Dangote?
