In 1954, there was no Nigeria, the last time, Nigeria won a gold in a sport that was not football in the Olympics was in 96, during that period, the team was a very diverse team and not dominated by one ethnic group.

Now, imagine if Nigeria had qualified for the men and women football events. It means at least 35 sportsmen would have been added to their contingent, but they couldn't qualify. Just go and check the names of people that make up the teams during the qualifiers. I watched the final qualifying match in Agege stadium against Cote D'ivoire where they failed to qualify. Their captain Desire Oparanozie was sacked from the team for speaking up for her mates. For the men, go and check list of the players that played in the qualifiers where they failed to qualify. That is the quota system team you support
