Sorry about your video but it's stuff people said 50 years ago (I like present day videos).

I watch current things like Cherished Olivia on YouTube - Nigerian living in SA. Checkout Chitu Diary as well. I like their posts about life in SA and culture shocks. I also watched Zulu Nigerian who lives over there about things she hates about Nigeria Shocking!

The xenophobia is also linked to Nigerian arrogance though. South Africans are generally chilled but Nigerians in particular bring out the worst in us coz they're living off some past giant of Africa glory that we won't stand for on our own soil. We're just two very different sets of people who shouldn't be forced to shared the same space.

But some are cool, while others are bipolar like u - I see you're in love with "South Africows' again (changed your signature) . God bless your fatherland too but also grant u all humility once that is achieved - you're desperately lacking in that department.

Yeah, it's almost midnight here but I'm gonna be up for a while. I lost one of my best friends to Covid today, so I'm a bit restless.

I also studies English literature by the way, so we might have a similar interest in languages. Also did French for a semester but I've forgotten most of it, we don't use it much in SA.

I once really loved learning European languages
Duolingo was my second home
But I found out that I can't keep learning the colonial languages while Yoruba keeps diminishing
So I am now focused on recreation and promotion of African languages
African languages are on the verge of extinction
Even the giant Kiswahili is dying

it isn't really used here too, even though we are surrounded by France
Hausa is spoken in north nigeria and Niger republic to the north
Yoruba is spoken in Benin Republic to the west
Nigerian/Cameroonian pijin is spoken in Cameroon(France ) to the east
So french is not really needed to travel and live
