What is unprofessional about stating that one gets attention from members of the opposite gender in the course of discharge of his/her professional duties?
Would you allow such an individual care for your female loved ones?
Or if you are an employer, would you hire such an individual after seeing such on their social media?
Re: What Have You Heard Concerning Male Nurses by auschris: 11:17pm On Jul 26, 2021
Look at his words carefully. He didn't say he is interested in the ladies but he's receiving interest from the ladies. What he does with that interest will determine if he's violating a professional code or not.
And yes, I would allow him care for my female loved ones or hire him if I was an employer. I will consider his professional competence and not how females are attracted to him.

All I know is they are somehow more compassionate than their female counterparts. But don't ever...and I repeat don't ever trust them with your female relatives. They are only. Mostly good for holding down psychiatric patients or doing the tough jobs...they can't be trusted with feminine nudity.
. As per experience don't let us say stuffs that will burst nairaland o...e get wetin one of them won do a female friend on the bed for her appendicitis surgery...male nurse won remove her undies claiming na him go shave her my guy was even rubbing palms and licking mouth. The stereotype that had been attached to the profession "Nursing" is deadly. Some of you here never had an encounter with a nurse before but the assumption and rumors you've had about nurses is what you keep spreading. E.g Nigeria beat India 1-100, the ball was tuning to lion etc.
Same way most of you have not experienced a professional nurse, it's only those secondary sch girl that you see in white and u think they are nurses.
Wellz , I believe nurses are not sex object.

Btw, most nurses are female. You see the one you like , you manipulated her into dating you. You had sex and you said she liked it because she's a nurse. How does your profession indicate your libidinal range?
So other professionals no dey knack ?
The first thing that comes to your mind when you see a nurse is sex. Stop it nurses are not sex object.

I've never encountered a male nurse. But something tells me they'll be unprofessional like some doctors I'd met.

They touch you in inappropriate places all in the name of examination. I had menstrual cramps as a teenager. He couldn't take his eyes off of my chest region. Then he proceeded to pressing and pressing. In my naivety, I didn't realize he's not supposed to do that. Foolish pedophile!

A particular doctor asked me to open up on the examination bed, I lay there and on seeing my laps, all he could say was "Wow!" He later pestered for a relationship. And there was yet another one exactly like that. Different hospitals O!

I'm sure male nurses too will not be an exception.

Stop this nonsense of putting unnecessary tag on "African mentality." Generally all over the world and your saner climes, more women are in the nursing profession because they are more compassionate. There are biological reasons to back these occurrence up and has nothing to do with African mentality.
I feel that person has a point
In other countries
There are is a higher percentage of male nurses
Than in say a country like Nigeria or Burundi
In other words
There are a higher % of male nurses (even though there are still more women ) abroad than in Nigeria

In scandanevian countries where there's great effort put in place for equal genders in professions as STEM, they've rather witnessed a shockingly wider gap. Let's stop this African mentality nonsense. When men and women are allowed the free will to make their choices, they tilt towards different directions generally. It doesn't however mean one gender is more intelligent than the other. Please, read about these things.

We have biological differences and it influences our choice of career. There are professions widely dominated by men as well, especially Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Teaching is widely dominated by women across the world. It's not an African thing. It's biological.

And yes, there will be differences across countries and continents depending on how government of many countries are trying to force women to take up some roles.

Like I said before
The person you quoted has a point
Africans perceive certain things in a certain way
(At least most africans)
That's a fact that even YOU know
I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing
It's just a thing that we know

I'm a male nurse and I derive joy in my craft, while working in Abuja a young female patient tried flirting with me " I know you joined nursing so as to be seeing fresh bum bum while giving injections "
That was in the year 2019 when I was working towards gaining international professional registration(naija pay was disheartening), I just smiled in my mind "Aunty ,my ambition is not to be seeing bum bum but to get to the peak of my career"

I didn't get BGS by goofing around, thank God today I have UK nursing registration in the Bag as of today, working in an environment where everyoneis accountablefor his or her inactions, maybe I will look for another western country to conquer.
