Asari Dokubo by this envious clarification has further made me to believe that Nnamdi Kanu has been right all along that d Ijaws and d greater part of South South are Biafra. Nnamdi Kanu has never faulted that an Ijaw man coined d name Biafra nor has he pushed for an Igbo Biafra but has pushed for a Biafra whose components are d geographical space that constitute d old Eastern States

Don't mind that stupid fool, his statement is a dipper acceptance that all ijaw land, in fact south south is part of Biafra Republic. He is only afraid that Biafra is gradually coming to reality.
For an ijaw man to suggest the name Biafra and a Calabar man to become the vice President mean that an agreement have been reached by southeast and south south together with other regions leaders, Asari is only crying because there is nothing juicy for him in the current arrangement, and he is not humble enough to follow, rather he is out making noise up and down, one thing he should know is that Biafra agitation is different from demand for resources control and pipeline vandalism which he is used to.
It's time for him to wake up.

So what is the meaning of Nigeria that you're part of?

God bless Asari Dokubo aka Alabo-Ediabali for saying this raw truth and fact.

Biafra as a name belongs to Ijaw. Ask all these Igbos shouting biafra the meaning of it they don't know just that Their fugitive leader told them to be calling biafra.

How can I be part of what I doesn't know the meaning and something that has links to Ijaw people ( James Manager comes to mind)...A name with no single meaning in Igbo language.

So the Bight of Benin is in reference to Benin that is in Japan or where?

So which other Benin was the Bight of Benin named after?

Or the Gulf of Guinea is in reference to the Papau New Guinea in Polynesia and not the Guinea that is right by the West African Gulf?
They're just African names given to areas by first Europeans (Portuguese) who visited Guinea, Benin and Mafra. It has nothing to do with people and their territory.

I have issues with the bolded.

A lot has changed since 1967. I believe more efforts should be channeled into IGBO parts of old Eastern Region. Many Igbos are trapped in Benue, Delta, Rivers, etc.

If an Ijaw man doesn't want to join Biafra, and the Igbo man in Oyigbo wants to opt out of Nigeria, both can still happen, and everyone goes home fine.

Asari Dokubo has requested igbos to please share the Name Biafra with ijaws they refused.
But Nnamdi Kanu is not the founder of Biafra, Dokubo should leave him alone.
Asari Dokubo wanted a "Biafra South and Biafra North" for igbos and ijaws but wasn't happy for Late Ojukwu for declaring Biafra in 1967.

This pig is right, the Bight of Biafra (officially called the Bight of Bonny, is a bight off the West African coast, in the easternmost part of the Gulf of Guinea. It was where slave traders ship slaves to Europe.
Ojukwu in his greed to have the oil included ijaw lands to the igbo nation but he was betrayed by Ken saro wiwa and the ijaw kingsmen who did not want to be second class citizens.
Ojukwu chose the name Biafra to please the ijaws.
My advise for the igbos is to accept their five states and move on. The oil in Nigeria is a curse. the world is moving towards clean energy and the igbos are enterprising.

Who care about oil?
We only care about our people and land ceded out of wickedness to south south; omuko, etche, egbema, obigbo and anioma. Simple

So, does he now want to claim the name and fight for his Biafra or what's the argument about?

Did Nigerians give themselves Nigeria or is it not what they are referred?

He should give us the part of history that would make us understand that he is an intelligent man and not an attention-seeking noisemaker please!

Well it is OK to borrow a name from a neighbouring tribe.

Gold Coast borrowed the Ghana name from the defunct Ghana empire in West Africa that was not anywhere near the territorial geography of modern Ghana.

Dahomey borrowed the Benin name from the defunct Benin empire in West Africa that is currently within Nigeria. So Dahomey became Benin Republic.

So I see nothing wrong that an Ijaw will provide the Igbos the name to call their Igboland, from the now defunct coastal description called Bight of Biafra.

At a time we should be united against the blood-sucking and land grabbing Fulani terrorists, we are diving ourselves and giving the common enenmies the Hausa/Fulanis more time to continue to kill, to steal and to destroy us. What a shame.

Re: "Igbos Don't Have Any Connection With Biafra, Ijaws Own It" - Asari Dokubo by Denn(m): 2:07pm On Jul 28, 2021
Dokubo is wrong.

The ijaws did not name the region Biafra. Explorers did and is evidenced in their maps.

In addition, the igbos have a right to claim the name Biafra.

First to claim and establish is what is important.

On a serious note, making Biafra an Igbo matter was a wrong move. Infact, it wont be bad if an ijaw man or woman leads Biafra. When u make Biafra an Igbo event alone, u are pushing away those who are also part of the Biafra with Ojukwu. Remember, the vice in command to Ojukwu was someone from Ibibio. There were other major minor tribes in Biafra. Igbos were just major tribe with highest population. That does not make Biafra an Igbo stuff. Biafra was actually something that belonged to Igbos and other tribes in the old eastern region. The mistake made by those who are struggling for Biafra was making it solely an Igbo affair. Only Igbos cant win this struggle.
