No one deserves to be kidnapped.

I just dey imagine the kin songs this same people would have been singing if Hushpuppy talk say nah Nnamdi Kanu or Sunday Igboho he do a total transfer of #8m to.

A person of Abba Kyari should have nothing to do with a person like Hushpuppy. Abba Kyari is a deputy commissioner of police, is no child's play to hold such a rank, we no even suppose to dey hear say a person of his caliber they follow Abbas talk, to the extent of going to the UAE to chill with him.

I'm sure the guy quoting me, accusing me of been happy(Maybe he wants me to start crying or getting sad cause of Kyari the super cop) does not know what it is to be a Co-conspirator in a criminal case.

I don't care who Hush Puppy sent money. They should all be brought to justice. Please let's stop giving any kind of ethnic coloration to this case or any other case. Bad is bad regardless of tribe.

So, Hush who is a known fraudster told a top cop to arrest his friend. Why didn't the said cop arrest both the friend and Hush Puppy? I thought the cop is all about fighting crime and whatnot? Instead of arresting a known fraudster Kyari went on vacation with him to Dubai and received payment in the millions.

I am not surprised at all by cases like this. No be the same Nigeria that SARS officials dey take money from Yahoo boys, buy Benz with the money and boast about it? No be the same Nigeria that SARS officials dey kidnap people at random and make their families sell their assets to bail them, despite no crime at all being committed? The Nigerian police is rotten from the top to the bottom and that's why it is ranked the worst on the planet. I am only sad it is not mass murder and stealing that the likes of Kyari is being tried for.

True that. I vividly remember when the Shiites were being massacred and I was making posts here in their support. Unarmed men, women and children were being murdered and injured in cold blood and some here saw nothing wrong with it. For supporting the Shiites I was insulted by some on this thread. It pained me sha. But I kept at it because the Shiites are still Nigerians with fundamental human rights guaranteed by the constitution and UN resolutions and what happens to every Nigerian concerns all Nigerians.

Some people simply cannot get this. Tribalism and sectionalism has warped their minds to such an extent that they can only see things through the lens of whether it affects their religion, region, tribe or sect. I just feel sorry for them.

This man has committed much greater sins and crimes, than he is facing now, if this man was truly prosecuted for the biggest crimes without interference, he might be in jail for more than 20 years.
Efcc and Nigerian police are fast becoming useless in the international scenes, EFCC arrested a man that claims to be a businessman because 8 million dollars was paid into his account and another sum in the millions of dollars from another country, EFCC without investigation arrested the man....paraded the man , after then they started investigating.....they didn't find anything incriminating with the man, they wrote letters to the embassy and EFCC opposite number in 2 countries, those one's didn't even bother to acknowledge talkless of replying EFCC, they had to apologise and withdraw the case. The police and EFCC are acting on a principle of bad belle, like how can someone be successful and have money, therefore it's enough to burst you, without establishing a solid foundation.
Most worrying is the political class are not doing anything, it becoming like EFCC is even more powerful than the legislative and executive.

Why did Europeans leave their heaven to come here? People move for different reasons.

Besides, most of the problems in Nigeria are more, far far more rampant in my region (Northern Nigeria) but we hardly ever travel for migration unlike the southerners. It's also the same in the case of other poor west African nations.

The North don’t emigrate for greener pastures outside Naija as most of them have this belief that their current ordeal is What God has destined for them.

Some other part of the country fully believes than an individual can get to the top against all odds.

In Owerri, EFCC will see an expensive building and immediately conduct a raid believing one of the tenants might be a Yahoo boy. It was this ESN uprising that stopped all this harassment by Police and EFCC in Owerri for now.

And yeah, having money in Nigeria is dangerous. It becomes even more dangerous if you choose to flaunt your wealth by buying big car, like those Instagram skit makers are wont to do. The police, EFCC, robbers and kidnappers go take big interest in you because of your expensive ride. It doesn't matter if your wealth was legitimately gotten or not, because to the cops and EFCC you cannot be rich by living in a shithole like Nigeria unless you are a politician or related to one.

I'm genuinely curious how many of you guys have actually been victimized in that same Nigeria. Have you been shot? raped? have your home burglarized etc. Most bad sh!t most ppl probably have to deal with was give bribes to cops, what else? I get that there is economic hardship, show me where same isn't true around the world.
I'm not saying Nigeria doesn't have huge issues, but so is the rest of the world, and spending your every living moment to rant on here won't solve the problems.
My parents live right there in Ondo State, 78yrs on this earth, my father has yet to experience any danger that threatened his life, got brothers and sisters all over that same country, and they are alive and well. So what threat have you experienced? pls share. Or you guys just love disseminating rumors without actually witnessing most of these things.
Nigeria bad. rest of the world good. Go to Ecuador, and these latin American countries, then perhaps you'd understand the meaning of crimes. dont tear down your own.
ranting won't make it better. trying to fix it will.
And Oga Dubai, hopefully your issues with fulanis will be resolved in ur life time, hang in there. Me go hold down this Eldorado for ya
Guy we hear bout crimes everyday.
Last week in my hood, a guy was stabbed cos he was owing someone 1000 naira. Yes. 1000 naira!. Damn. My best friend house was burgled this same last week. He was locked from outside, until neighbors came to his rescue in the morning. My ex was raped in the university by MOPOL. People get raped daily. You see underage pregnant girls around. Guy we ain't supposed to be saying everything bout ourselves. We have passed through alot. You kept asking how many times we passed through sh*t. Man, it's alot. Phone snatching broad day light. Phones cut off from people's hands, making them amputees. We have tricycles here. We call them "Keke napep". People are robbed and pushed out of moving vehicles. Wah else do you want to know? No one to respond. No police. Police claim the need money to transport themselves to crime scenes. Damn

There was no place or was explicitly stated that Abba kyari knew that Hush was defrauding a client. He was simply arrested because he was involved during the scam by trying to hush Chinedu. FBI is probably going to bring it up that he is a member of Hush scam ring.
In fact, Abba kyari never knew why Hush wanted Chinedu to be beaten until he had dealt with chinedu. He then proceeded to ask hush what chinedu did.
And you probably never heard of plausible deniability. One in 6 people have met a killer is a fact.

Damn bro. I love people like you sha. You guys are the modern version of the old prophets ordained by the most high and eager to execute judgment on those different from you, or those you see as doing wrong. You would have been perfect at the side of Elisha when he commanded bears to eat up little kids who were insulting his bald head.

The Shiites blocked road as you say, do sex cults as you say, visit violence upon people as you say, and that justifies the NA massacring them in their hundreds? To be frank, people like you can always find excuse for anything and I mean ANYTHING.

Now, I don't care about the Shiites. I have never met one in fact. But they are still Nigerians and humans with rights and privileges that are inalienable. That means they cannot be murdered in cold blood in their hundreds without first being arrested, tried in a legitimate court of law, and found guilty of whatever crime the state wants to bring up.

If you think the Shiite treatment is so great, I am sure you won't mind if the NA start using it all over the country. I am sure it will come in handy in places like Lagos or Onitsha where touts routinely harass, rape, extort and murder. Yeah, just kill them all.

And this is my last response on the Shiite issue.

US institutions are more mature and tested than Nigeria's. Security issues and police brutality may be worse in the US.
I have lived in two states in the US.
I never went to some neighborhoods in NY, Chicago and Detroit where i hear Nigeria would be like paradise in comparison.

Always argue with facts, not sponged off perceptions from other people.

Many European nationals see the US as a glorified third world country with nuclear weapons, tech advancement and industrial capacity.
That is to say, they think the level of human development is not commensurate with their wealth and the technological advancement. That's a view that is debateable BUT it is far better than the one that sees Uncle Sam as perfect.

If you think the US is perfect with the crimes, prosperity pastors, stupid tax code, thieving pharmaceutical industry, no good health insurance system and the recent Capitol invasion by Trump's mobs then you are uneducated.
Everybody expects the US to show a high level of governance and maturity, due to their economic status as well as global impact. So, every issue with the police, gets a great deal of attention by the media and the world at large, due to our expectations, the spotlight is here. However, Nigeria is still far worse. Do you know the extent of criminality that goes unreported. Did you not hear in 2020 about a certain police station abducting, killing and selling body parts in massive numbers, can sth like that happen in the US?. People travel and get kidnapped or killed on the road and no one talks about it. If CNN were to move to Nigeria and report issues the way they do, they would be shocked at what will be discovered. There would be breaking news every hour. in fact, cameras won't be enough. In Nigeria, an average wealthy man can order police to jail his enemies for years and nobody will even bother about it. It won't even be newsworthy. Please stop the lies.

Everywhere has dangerous neighborhoods, US, Nigeria, Europe inclusive. There are very serious slums that you'll never know about in places like Russia. Maitama in Abuja is definitely far safer than some crazy places in the US. But the craze in some places in Nigeria is incomparable. Even police cannot save you. Analyze issues holistically. Why you may not see Nigeria on high crime rates is because most crimes are classed as terrorism.

yankari guy better go hire better lawyer and not leave the country grin. And investigation into this should be done by an independent body, not the fvking police

Lol. Is there a kid over the age of ten in Nigeria who doesn't know Hush is a fraudster? And once Hush related the details of the deal to mr super cop what did he do? Arrest him for fraud, or submit account detail for payment and go to Dubai to chill with him? And exactly how does Abba Kyari being accused of fraud undermine the sovereignty of this country? And why do some people here revel in threatening others with suffering the injustices of the Nigerian justice system?
Damn. cry

The North don’t emigrate for greener pastures outside Naija as most of them have this belief that their current ordeal is What God has destined for them.

Some other part of the country fully believes than an individual can get to the top against all odds.

That's another misconception. Yes, the north is religious but that is not what is keeping us from moving outside. And bigotry aside, the south is just as superstitious as the north if you look into the prevalence of money rituals, cultism, etc and the way many of them attribute world events and natural disasters to "endtime", "wrath of God", etc.

Migration is not just part of our culture and those that do it do so for various reasons. Even in the south, it's mostly Igbos that are traveling around. You can find them in countries that are 4x worse than Nigeria so people don't necessarily travel because of adversity at home.

NA did not Massacre. They went to arrest the guy and his followers resisted.
This notion that NA and Nigerian Police just goes and shoots anybody is erroneous.
Why do we think we can shield criminals from arrest from NA, DSS and Police and there won't be consequences?

You actually expect the company leader of the detachment sent to pick up the guy to return to base with excuses and stories.

Funny enough the Nigerian Anti-Terrorism Act 2013 that was made under Jonathan actually automatically absolved the Army detachment.

If you are going to do social activism and/or protest in Nigeria, get a lawyer and get educated on the legal framework.

People dey die for nothing

Highlighted is the point. When some of us draw reference to United states, we do so in suggestion that if America, supposedly the worlds top democracy and human rights poster boy, is barley better than Nigeria in instance such as police brutality, when scrutinised more closely, why do some wish to paint Nigeria as the worst country in the world, when we have not even mentioned, China, India, Mexico, Brazil, Pakistan, Columbia, South Africa, Philippines, Jamaica, France etc

Many of us are not excusing Nigeria’s faults simply for criticising the way Nigeria is criticised. If train derails in Nigeria, resulting in casualties and people call for the sacking of management, investigation of contracts and quality of build, call for public enquiries, question how services responded to injured and dead, criticise maintenance, call for sacking and resignation – these would be inline with expectation.

However when people start making statements such as, ‘Only in Nigeria, disintegrate this contraption; Nigeria is cussed, Nigerians are demonic, Zoogeria etc, of course some of us are forced to say, ‘Waite a minute, train accidents happen everywhere’. We would like to criticise but Instead we are forced into defending. Nigeria isn’t even a so-called developed nation but a developing one. Some type of criticism in question has dishonest dimensions since they are often extraordinarily extreme, often racists or tribalitic, suggesting that the intent is not to inspire improvements but to worsen them, for a verity of motives some of which are obvious.

I guess also, there is an understandably visceral reaction to notions that certain undesirable developments general to humans and their societies are specific only to Nigeria and Nigerians.
Exactly, that is what they guy is trying to say. I think these guys understood what he is saying, but you know! their ego wouldn't let them admit it, so they decided to deliberately brush it off by been an ass!

I had this discussion with a friend on how fraudulent guys escape judgment when taken to court. I always feel the Judges have been bribed.

It was my friend a Legal practitioner who told me that our security forces don’t do proper investigation before arrest. They just rush to make arrests that’s all.

Just see EFCC now running up and down into hotels in Lagos like a headless chicken. Them think say Na to where red jacket be everything.

I think KPMG, PWC or some Private security companies should become government recruitment consultants.

Just look at the number of well kitted Policemen guarding Private Citizens as escorts.

Abeg you get any link to USA? I heard street gangsterism is on the high side, but I’ll love to be there. After all, my sister in Benue told me over 20 youths have been killed tin a cult supremacy battle and it never made any news headline. embarassed

Benue state has cultism now?
