There's a genuine reason why the U.S. rarely negotiates with criminals or terrorists because it would only encourage the bad guys to continue making money from their terroristic activities and will never stop.

Last year, American seals came to Nigeria and killed the kidnappers who held Americans hostage and took the hostages safely back to America! The whole operation took few days and they didn't give the criminals money. That's how professional military fights kidnappers!

The only thing the incompetent Nigerian politicians and military do is enrich criminals! Oops! I nearly forgot that Nigerian politicians and the military are also criminals!
