Yes you're right, couple of people on Canada student thread have experienced same. Anything more than 4weeks won't be allowed to board.

skull4eva:

Bros it is too early cos he must come in exactly one month to start of classes or less. That date is 5days more than a month airlines wont allow him board. Am a living proof to this. I was not allowed to board and i had to pay 409k to reschedule my date thanks to wakanow for the exorbitant date change price

I am suprised she asked this question here when she follows the student thread, read how others were turned back too including the recent guy and also shared when her brother was refused boarding.
The one month rule stands just as u stated correctly.

Oh Hey boo, I follow the thread doesn’t mean I read everything, most times I just come on there to congratulate people and drop my questions.
But anyways, he was allowed to board today, he’s on his way to canada. Thanks

He will be allowed in. This is good time to travel, and the decision is simply at the discretion of the CBSA officer. I don't see why he wouldn't allow him enter the country.

Until after then. If no problem, why are we debating? If the rule is 30 days before resumption of classes, one is at the mercy of the CBSA agent.

That's because the decision is not set in stone. It's not a regulation nor a law. It's merely a recommendation

The people refusing Nigerian students from boarding in Nigeria are just exuberant

Pls is it wise / permitted for a student on TRV to invest in like TFSA or any other banking investment platforms? Apart from banks, which other investment options are available with better ROI?

Good day, I tried opening an account but it asked for TIN and I don't have that. Did you open without a TIN or how did you open yours? Thank you.

Thanks but I don’t think they let you fund the NGN account from a Nigerian account…

Try FM Exchange app, but you must be resident in Canada to use it.

Hi,

Hope everyone is doing great.

Is there a group for people in Toronto? I'm touching down 3rd week of August with my expired COPR/PRV after almost a year of approval. I would like to connect with new people. I'll be around for 2weeks and yeah, I'm vaccinated.

Thanks.

You can try using Wealthsimple app if you want to get into investment. Their trade app allows you to do it yourself while with their invest app, they choose stocks and ETF to invest.

I have used both although I prefer trade cause I do my own research and buy stocks and ETF and my portfolio is performing better than when I let them do it for me.

I agree. And best of all, it's free to use, you don't pay per trade.
