My start date is 9th too. Since you have an extension letter for 2 weeks, I think you can still wait especially if it is Abuja embassy.

Also, my sponsor generate a debit only statement of account for me (for reasons best know to them) is this tenable at the embassy and can I present a June statement for Aug interview?

First, she has attempted University and she's going down from bachelor’s to associate degree. She shouldn't have mentioned that.

Her reason for coming back may sound good enough but she shouldn't speak ill about her country. That's an indication that you're running away

It’s best you contact your school for extension letter , many schools offer this due to pandemic and other delays in admission process , as for the bank statement , we have had cases where VO asked visa applicants to resubmit an updated or recent bank account , you do not have time at your side , hence Vo may not extend such opportunity . Verdict ,
: Get everything in order as much as you can to avoid story .

This week I got a fully funded PhD for the same school courtesy of my advisor. It's a direct Degree to PhD now, no MSc required from me.
The offer includes stipends and lots of benefits.

Should I request for a new I-20 or I should just go to the Embassy with this new offer letter of PhD with my MSc I-20 ?? Please help me. Thanks �

Congratulations on your funding. Quickly request for a new I-20 reflecting your new status for the PhD program even if it's the same school. You no longer need the I-20 for your MS program. Go throw it away.

You would need to fill in a new DS-160 form (even if your SEVIS number remains constant) and reapply for another interview session.

So I used my EA to pick September 21st with the plan to defer my admission to spring 2022.

Guys can I use that my September 21st for my Spring 2022 when I get my new I-20 ?

You should have contacted your advisor first and asked for the absolute deadline that you can resume for fall?

I did that. I can resume a week after my initial resumption date on my i20 and a letter will be issued by the grad college. There are schools that allow you to resume even 2wks after.
