Well already book appointment i used my previous schengen visa in 2019
HRprof:

If you have travel to schengen countries then you are frequent traveller so what you need to do is to make copies of your schengen visas and submit with your application. Even when you didn't use it, it still count

Canada shares info with the Big 5 EYE (U.S, U.K Australia and Schengen i cant remember the last.)
HRprof:

How did you know it was the reason ? Did you request for your GCMS? Or you just assume as the Canada refusal letter does not come with such details information unless you request for your GCMS. Meanwhile , Canada only share information with US embassy and i don't know about sharing information with Europe.

The day it will be detected then you will know its a big issue. It is called Misrepresentation and attracts a 5 year Ban from Canada, 10 years from U.K and a life ban from the U.S.

Good luck to you!
Nchabuomo:

Okay, if you say so. Personally I don't always declare previous visas and this has never been an issue. Goodluck

It is not misrepresentation if no question was asked and you lied about it. Not mentioning a visa you had is not misrepresentation as long as you are not hiding a crime.

"A misrepresentation is a statement not in accord with the truth — made by either the visa applicant or his agent on his behalf. It must be a statement or a submitted document; silence is not considered a misrepresentation"

I have held multiple US visas plus Canadian visa and it has NEVER been a problem for me not listing all the countries I have held their visa in the last 10 years.

This is my personal experience make of it what you may.

For first time tourist visa applicant ! Don't book appointment using frequent travel option because there is no appointment for France first time travel for now on tourist visa. Someone was sent back today at VFS France visa application because of that.

Ah!!! Why now??! Does it mean they don't want pple to travel as first timer to their country.

I have traveled to uk 3 times, will that count for me

@Lizzer, your lost passport number linked to the new one will show you had a Spanish visa in the past as its within the Schengen region.

However, you may need to call the vfs help desk by phone: 0815 018 8800 to explain your situation to them and see the solution profferred.

Good Luck..

But i will mention it in my application , because when applied for canadian visa in 2017, i didn't mention it on my application. With the lost passport number on my new passport, Canadian embassy saw the spanish visa and denied me visa for not mentioning that i had a Spanish visa long time ago.

I just hope applying as a first timer will not be a problem, because am very sure they will see that Spanish visa.

I tried their number and got them and the lady explained everything to me. I will advice that we call first to get information from them to clarify ourselves. They frequent traveler are pple that have traveled to Canada, UK, USA.

It is a document to support your purpose of traveling...such as making a reservarion with any sightseeing event/tour... making reservation with disneyland is a good example of this. I dont know if the document is necessary, you can ask gurus in the house more about it pls2

Does your Uncle reside France to Invite you over?

In my opinion, If he resides in Nigeria, its a difficult task to sponsor an employed adult on a holiday.

It would only show the visa officer one thing- Funds are lacking here.

If you would, take out some time and build your finances just a bit more.

Frequent Travelers are applicants who have at least 1 previous visa from the schengen , US , UK and Canada.

What if the schengen visa is unused and it was issued 6 years ago?
Which category will the person belong to; first timer or Frequent

Thanks for your response, but I lost the that particular passport a year later, so there's no way to get a copy of it.

From my experience, if u are applying for a tourist visa, that means u are going for site seeing. So u need to book for tours, not just one, both free, pay when u get there and pay b4 booking. You need this to let them know u are actually going for tourism.

It’s not always like that, all my schengen visas I have gotten , I never had to do that though, maybe it was because I was applying from outside Nigeria. I never even submitted bank statement, I always used travelers Cheques. Although it seems they are stricter when applying from Naija, that’s why I need to clarify from those who have applied from Naija.

You are right. You don't have to book any tour. You can do all touristy stuff yourself if you want, you don't need a tour guide to visit Eiffel Tower, Museums etc.

Good morning All,
It seems getting appointment for first timer tourist visa is completely impossible at the moment for French embassy.
Some one told me that Spanish embassy is open for tourist and visiting visa right now. Please I would like to know if anyone here know about it or have seen someone that applied recently for short stay visa.
Thank you
